It offers an alternative to traditional hotels, focusing on essential amenities and a cozy atmosphere. This guide will delve into what Morris Guest House offers, helping New Yorkers understand if it’s the right fit for their next stay or for recommending to visiting friends and family. It’s designed to be a functional base for exploring the Bronx and the wider New York City area.
Morris Guest House is strategically located at Morris Ave & E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY 10453, USA. This places it in a central and bustling part of the Bronx, offering excellent accessibility for New York locals and visitors alike. Its location near major avenues ensures easy navigation within the borough.
The guest house benefits significantly from New York City's extensive public transportation network:
- Subway Access: The closest subway station is Burnside Avenue (4 train), which is just a short walk away. The D train also runs parallel to Morris Avenue with nearby stations, connecting guests directly to Manhattan and other parts of the Bronx. This makes it incredibly convenient for exploring popular New York City attractions like Yankee Stadium (just a few stops away) or heading downtown to Midtown.
- Bus Connections: Numerous MTA bus lines serve the Morris Avenue and East Tremont Avenue intersection, providing comprehensive local service. These routes allow for easy access to various Bronx neighborhoods, including Fordham University, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden.
- Driving: For those with a car, Morris Avenue and East Tremont Avenue are significant thoroughfares, offering relatively straightforward access. However, as is typical in New York City, on-site parking is not available, and street parking can be challenging. It's often recommended for guests to utilize public transport.
The guest house's prime location in the Bronx ensures that guests have convenient access to both local Bronx attractions and the broader New York City landscape.

Morris Guest House, like many independent accommodations, offers competitive pricing and potential deals, though specific, universally advertised "promotions" might vary seasonally or through different booking platforms. To find the best available rates and any current special offers, New Yorkers should:
- Check Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Websites like Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, and Agoda frequently feature discounted rates, flash sales, or package deals for Morris Guest House. These platforms often highlight "exclusive deals" or "deep discounts" for specific dates.
- Look for Non-Refundable Rates: Often, the lowest prices are associated with non-refundable bookings, which can provide a significant saving for those whose travel plans are firm.
- Consider Booking in Advance: While last-minute bookings can sometimes yield deals, booking further in advance, particularly during peak seasons, can often secure better rates.
- Monitor Seasonal Offers: Keep an eye out for potential promotions during off-peak travel times or for specific holiday periods when demand might be lower.
- Inquire Directly (if possible): While Morris Guest House operates with a virtual front desk, sometimes direct inquiries via email (info@morrisgh.com) might yield information on any current specials, though booking through established platforms is generally the advised method given the online check-in process.
- Be Aware of Policies: Always read the cancellation and check-in policies carefully, as some promotions might come with stricter terms, such as the requirement to complete online check-in by a certain time (as highlighted in a customer review). Understanding these details helps avoid any issues during your stay.
While a fixed "promotions" section isn't publicly listed by Morris Guest House, its affordability and frequent appearance on major booking sites with varying rates suggest that value-conscious travelers can often find good deals by checking different platforms and being flexible with their dates.
To contact Morris Guest House for inquiries or to manage a reservation, New York locals and visitors can use the following details:

Website: While a direct Morrisgh.com website is listed on some booking sites, it often redirects to a booking portal. It's best to search for "Morris Guest House" on reputable online travel agencies for booking and up-to-date information.
Important Note on Check-in: As highlighted in customer reviews and public information, Morris Guest House operates with a virtual front desk. Guests are required to contact the property in advance (at least 24 hours before arrival is recommended) for check-in instructions and an access code. Online registration via a secure link and providing a copy of government-issued photo ID after booking are mandatory steps. Check-in is typically from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and after-hours check-in is not offered. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee and by arrangement. It is crucial for guests to thoroughly review all check-in instructions provided by their booking company and the guest house directly to ensure a smooth arrival.
Morris Guest House is a suitable option for New York locals, or those visiting the city, who are seeking an affordable, convenient, and adults-only accommodation experience in the Bronx. Its suitability lies in several key factors that cater to a specific segment of travelers. Firstly, its prime location at Morris Ave & E Tremont Ave offers excellent accessibility via the 4 and D subway lines and numerous bus routes, making it easy to reach from anywhere in the city and providing direct access to Bronx attractions like Yankee Stadium and the Bronx Zoo, as well as Manhattan. This is a significant advantage for budget-conscious travelers who rely on public transport. Secondly, despite offering shared bathroom facilities, the guest house consistently receives praise for the cleanliness and quality of these amenities, alongside comfortable and well-equipped rooms featuring modern comforts like Smart TVs with streaming services and quality toiletries. This attention to detail in room comfort and shared facilities offers a good value proposition.
However, it is crucial for locals to be aware of the specific check-in policies, particularly the requirement for online registration and the strict check-in time window, as this has been a point of confusion for some guests. Understanding and adhering to these procedures ensures a seamless experience. For those who prioritize independence, a streamlined check-in process via access codes, and a quieter, adults-only environment over a traditional hotel's full-service front desk, Morris Guest House presents a viable and economical solution. It serves as a practical base for exploring the vibrant Bronx borough and offers a no-frills yet comfortable stay for those who are prepared for its unique operational style.

Morris Guest House Reviews
Booked it as a last minute hotel for the night at 3pm .. show up at 11pm looking for the place and called only to be told I have to check in by 9pm and I can't stay there anymore . Asked for a refund and they told me to talk to the booking company .. all of this rudely . They sent me an email when I booked giving instructions for online checkin, mentioning no where that I had to complete it by a certain time . It's unreasonable for them to expect a booking to check in by a certain time if they don't mention it in the instructions message .. it's a normal thing to show up at a hotel at 11pmI submitted a claim with my bank and Morris Guest House submitted fake evidence that said I never showed up and otherwise would have let me stay there. I had a whole conversation with them on the phone that they are denying. Subtly evil people who work here
May 21, 2025 · Hari KrishnanOur room was a cozy with a king bed, two beautiful street windows & everything that a traveller would require. The showers and toilets were always pristine. The room had good quality shampoo, conditioner, lotion & soap. Hangers and a rack to keep everything wrinkle-free. There is an iron for a last-minute emergency. No elevator to bring suitcases.I’d recommend it to my friends.Thank you for all your help!!

Apr 25, 2025 · Melanie MightlyThe place is exactly as advertised, with an excellent location and easy access to the subway. The room is comfortable, perfect for a good night's rest. I stayed for 6 days, and while some reviews mention difficulties with access, the listing is clear. I recommend following the check-in instructions sent via email carefully
