Jun 11, 2024 · Deb DGBeautiful hidden gem! My son loved having all the space to run and the playground.
Oct 31, 2024 · PortiaStrawberry Fest at Pete and Toshi Seeger Park was just perfect. The park is on a spit of land surrounded by the Hudson River on both sides. Lovely piece of property and a nice playground for the kids.Today the Beacon Sloop Club hosted Strawberry Fest - the best ever strawberry shortcake and strawberry smoothies. Shortcake baked on the premises, strawberries hulled and sliced by volunteers the night before. What a lot of work for an all volunteer group! There were activists tabling for a pleathera of causes, vendors selling all sorts of stuff and two stages of music. And dogs of all breeds and mixtures. No charge for admittance, free sails on the Woody Guthrie, the Sloop Clearwater was there.Pete would be proud of the way his Sloop Club carries on his vision of bringing people to the River even without him. Corn Fest in August is next.
