It is known for its beautiful natural setting, providing a refreshing escape into nature amidst the suburban landscape of Westchester County. The park features extensive hiking trails that wind through forested areas, offering opportunities for both leisurely strolls and more vigorous outdoor exercise. While largely serene, one customer review notes a minor environmental drawback: "there are always so much mosquitoes in this park," which suggests that visitors might need to take precautions, especially during warmer months. Despite this, the overall environment is highly regarded, with reviews consistently describing it as a "very nice park for all ages" and emphasizing its cleanliness and safety. The park's natural beauty, combined with its well-kept facilities, creates an inviting atmosphere for a variety of outdoor activities and relaxation.
In terms of services and features, Saxon Woods Park is exceptionally well-equipped, making it a comprehensive recreational destination. A standout feature is its large swimming pool complex, described as "excellent for children and adults." This complex includes a main pool, a children's pool, and a spray ground, offering ample opportunities for aquatic fun. The park offers flexible pricing for pool access: a daily fee of $15 per person, or a more economical option of a three-year pass for $95, which then reduces the per-visit cost to $6. Children under five years old enter free, making it particularly appealing for families with young children. A significant convenience for pool-goers is the allowance to "bring your own cooler with a snack," though alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Visitors are also permitted to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on the grass, enhancing comfort and personal space around the pool area. For those seeking other forms of recreation, the park boasts an 18-hole golf course, catering to golf enthusiasts. Additionally, a mini-golf course provides a fun and accessible activity for all ages. Playgrounds offer dedicated spaces for children's enjoyment, and extensive hiking trails cater to nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts. The park also sells "fried potatoes and ice cream," providing convenient on-site refreshment options. The general contact information for the park is (914) 995-4480 or +1 914-995-4480, allowing visitors to inquire about facilities, hours, or any other necessary information.
The specific features of Saxon Woods Park that make it a premier "Scenic Spot" are its diverse offerings and its capacity to host a wide range of activities simultaneously. The combination of an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a golf course, and ample green space for picnics and relaxation ensures that there is something for everyone. The hiking trails, often winding through wooded areas, provide opportunities for wildlife observation and immersion in nature, enhancing the scenic value beyond just manicured lawns. The park's commitment to being "very clean and safe" is a crucial feature, contributing significantly to a positive visitor experience and making it a preferred choice for families. The flexibility in pool pass options demonstrates a service-oriented approach, aiming to accommodate both casual visitors and frequent patrons. The allowance of personal coolers and seating further enhances visitor comfort and convenience, distinguishing it from some other public facilities. Furthermore, its inclusion as "one of my kid's favorite parks" by a reviewer speaks to its strong appeal to younger visitors, indicating successful family-friendly amenities. The park's role as a multi-generational space is clear, catering to active adults on the golf course, families at the pool and playground, and hikers on the trails.
From a promotional standpoint, Saxon Woods Park effectively promotes itself through its extensive range of amenities and its reputation as a well-maintained and family-friendly destination. The sheer variety of activities available—swimming, golfing, hiking, mini-golf, and playgrounds—serves as a strong draw for a broad audience. The positive customer reviews, especially those highlighting its cleanliness, safety, and suitability for "all ages," provide organic word-of-mouth promotion. The clear pricing structure for the pool and the beneficial pass options act as an incentive for repeat visits, converting casual users into loyal patrons. While no explicit "goods for sale" beyond basic refreshments are listed, the park essentially "sells" a comprehensive recreational experience. Its status as a flagship park within the Westchester County Parks system further enhances its visibility and appeal. For local users in White Plains, Mamaroneck, and surrounding areas, Saxon Woods Park is positioned as the go-to destination for diverse outdoor leisure activities, offering exceptional value and a quality environment for recreation and relaxation throughout the seasons, despite the minor inconvenience of mosquitoes.

Saxon Woods Park Reviews
One of my kid’s favorite parks in NYC! Only downside there are always so much mosquitoes in this park
May 14, 2025 · Jay NYCIt is a very nice park for all ages. very clean and safe... The pool area is excellent for children and adults, you pay 15 dollars for each person, but if you buy a pass for 95 dollars for three years you only pay 6 dollars each time you go, children under 5 years old enter free.. The best is you can bring your own cooler with a snack, alcoholic is not allowed. you can bring a chair if you wish and a blanket to sit on the grass.. it sells fried potatoes and ice cream
Jul 01, 2022 · enil ueWe love ❤ going to parks that are nice and peaceful. (and include free parking)Note: the picnic area charges a $5 fee for parking. One thing we noticed and appreciated was the fact that parents were very watchful of their children. This made us feel comfortable. The swings were designed with every age range in mind. The floors had special material and padding. (we assume to brace a child's fall) Note: there are age ranges listed in the playground for specific areas. The park and bathrooms 🚻 were clean. (female bathroom floor had a little water 💧 on them)The park offers a little snack stand for those who may have the munchies. This park includes an Olympic size pool, (for Westchester residents only) an 18-hole miniature golf course, ⛳ (open to the public) and a trail 👣 which is very popular with hikers, cross country skiers and horseback riders. We'd recommend this park to our family & friends. Especially if you want to get away from overcrowded New York City parks.
May 22, 2022 · A.K. WalkerSigns had me really confused about dogs, but I think the no dog signs meant, no dogs in the water park or mini golf area. The parking for Westchester residents only is insane, but I'm sure this isn't the only park with them.
Aug 18, 2024 · A.A.D.Leading from the Saxon Woods Golf course through the Hutchinson Parkway into a big grounds along the river, this is one of the larger parks in the region. The trails go around and are easy to follow. It does accept dogs, and the entrance on the north side has swimming pools and other activities. The south side has more hiking trails and does get muddy when it rains. Take a peek at the exit to the golf course with some lovely scenery. The noise of the 'Hutch' is quite loud in winter time.
