Shoreham Hotel Reviews
We got what we paid for. Great location—perfect for what we needed for one night. The room was tight, having just enough room to walk around the Queen sized bed on either side. The bed itself wasn’t terrible, wouldn’t want to sleep on it more than a couple nights max. BIGGEST ISSUE: the A/C(thermostat) was disconnected in our room—see photo. I told the front desk and he said he would tell the “engineer.” Knowing this was likely not going to be resolved at 9pm, I asked for a fan and the presumed engineer brought it up—they didn’t look at the thermostat. Shocker. Would’ve been a rough night without a fan. It had a small bathroom that did the job. I didn’t expect a view, and we didn’t get one. Better than it could’ve been for sure. Overall wouldn’t recommend this place, but if all you need is a cheap bed and no air conditioning, it’s not bad.
May 06, 2025 · Phillip CarterOne of two elevators wasn't working so it can take a long time to move between floors especially with luggage. The room was big, but it wasn't furnished properly: no tables to eat on, no fridge, no microwave, the bureau was small and it didn't have a properly sized chair to go with it. The worst part was the lack of soundproofing. You can hear everything on the street even from the 9th floor. No blackout blinds. If you're planning to stay here, bring earplugs and eye masks! One night there were people fighting out in the hallway (or in their room nearby - no soundproofing so they might as well be just outside the room). It took more than 6 minutes to get ahold of the front desk. They said they're on it and will update me. I never heard from them again. Some employees were friendly.
May 25, 2025 · Jose C.The room was very spacious and clean. They also let us store our luggage for free. It looked slightly sketchy from the outside but it was a good hotel. The main problem was that the corridors and elevators were extremely cramped and tiny. We had to wait 30 minutes to get the elevator because only one was working and they are absolutely tiny. Eventually after a half an hour wait, we had to use the emergency evacuation stairs, whilst holding heavy suitcases. Other than this, the hotel was good.
Apr 19, 2025 · Jack DimmockAwful hotel - would not recommend staying here unless you are happy to sacrifice all comfort for its location. We could not believe this place has the audacity to call itself a 4-star hotel. It is the total opposite! On arrival, we were instantly struck with how morbid the hotel is- a dingy uninviting appearance (we thought we were entering via the backdoor and surely it must have a nicer entrance- but no!).They are stingy with water and give you no option but to buy bottles of water from the store in the lobby at $10 a pop for 2 small bottles. In the room, there are no amenities. No water, no tea, no coffee, absolutely no refreshments whatsoever. The rooms are small and cramped - not much space to move around. The ensuite is the worst with a prison-like sink (just to add to that in-prison feeling you get at this hotel) and a tiny tabletop that can barely sit any toiletries. Some of the other reviewers are right- you will feel trapped in this place and everywhere you look within the hotel you will feel disappointment and despair. We couldn't wait to get out of here and will never return. If your ONLY requirement is a place to sleep for the night then it could work for you especially if you spend as little time as physically possible in here. But for us the whole appearance, atmosphere, ambience and stingy approach just exacerbated an overall rubbish experience and we felt the need to warn others about how morbid this place is. We have never experienced a prison-like sink and feeling until we stayed here. This must be the signature thing about this hotel as other guests have commented on it too.Hope this review helps someone.
Apr 10, 2025 · A SunsetThe location is the only good thing. I left my bags after Check out to go explore. 3 hours later, I returned to pick up my bags. I then realized I had left some clothing in the hotel room closet. I quickly went to ask the front desk person if they found that while cleaning. Her answer " there's no housekeeping here,no managers and I don't know where lost & found is" She was not interested in helping me AT ALL even after I told her I was from out of state. . She gave me some general email & said "someone will get back to you Monday". Although the hotel or rooms were not at all impressive, I was willing to stay there another time. Not anymore! Whoever the young lady was working on Easter afternoon should be trained in customer service. I'll be surprised if I get my clothing back.
