This prominent location places it along the waterfront, specifically where the Bronx River flows into the East River, offering expansive views and a unique ecological setting. Its position within the Soundview neighborhood makes it a central and accessible green space for a large segment of the Bronx population.
One of the most significant aspects of Soundview Park's appeal, particularly for locals, is its accessibility. As one reviewer highlighted, it's "by far the biggest park that I can get to in The Bronx without having to take a bus and/or a train to," suggesting that for many within the immediate vicinity, it's easily reachable on foot or by a short local commute. The 6 train, serving stations like St. Lawrence Av, Elder Av, and Morrison Av-Soundview, provides the closest subway access. From these stations, a combination of walking or a short bus ride would typically connect visitors to the park's various entrances. The 6 train offers a direct link to Manhattan, making the park reachable for visitors from outside the Bronx as well.
- Bus Connections: Numerous local bus routes operate in the Soundview area, providing convenient connections to the park's perimeter from different parts of the Bronx. These bus lines often connect directly to subway stations, streamlining the commute for public transit users.

For many locals, cycling or walking to the park is a preferred option, offering a healthy and scenic commute. The park's internal pathways are perfect for leisurely rides or invigorating runs, allowing users to traverse its vast expanse.
- Vehicle Access: While not explicitly detailed for specific parking lots within the park, large urban parks like Soundview generally have designated parking areas or ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Given its size and popularity, drivers should consider peak times for potential parking challenges. The park's proximity to major roadways in the Bronx, such as the Bruckner Expressway (I-278), also makes it accessible by car for those coming from further afield.
This multi-modal accessibility ensures that Soundview Park remains a readily available and highly utilized resource for recreation and relaxation for a broad spectrum of New Yorkers.

Soundview Park Reviews
By far the biggest park that I can get to in The Bronx without having to take a bus and/or a train to. Has some nice views and places to stop and relax, and it's a perfect park to walk or ride a bike through. It also feels like there's things to do almost everywhere in the park. I definitely consider coming here before it gets too cold.
Sep 21, 2024 · JonPaul NiangI have visited only upper part of the park and did not see Sound views, however it is very clear that Bronx river waterfront could be exposed and utilized much better. Paved biking and walking path is tantalizingly close to the river but you can catch its glimpses only via unmarked short trails. Forested park part’s grass is not cut short enough although “The Bronx is blooming” organization is trying to improve it (I would advise to create marked trails for hiking). Otherwise, park is quite competitive with other city parks. There are athletic fields, dog run, playground and clean restrooms at the time of a visit on a weekday.
Jun 05, 2024 · Mike ZGreat bikes paths through forested areas and on the edge of the sound. The parks department works hard to keep this park maintained and clean. Space for picnics and fishing. You can find Italian wall lizards , dozens of species of birds, snakes and rabbits. There is a playground, dog park, baseball fields, soccer field, track and outdoor workout area.
