The room was clean, quiet. We enjoyed a great sunset view.Overall, a fantastic experience—I’ll definitely be returning! We had a girls reunion, and visiting the charming town was the cherry on the top.Special thanks to Rita…. Great service and amazing experience.
Apr 25, 2025 · The Tillman'sI recently stayed at Tarrytown house state, expecting a relaxing and comfortable experience, but unfortunately, what I encountered was far from it. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt like it was running in “turbo mode” — and not in a good way.The front desk was clearly overwhelmed, with long lines and rushed service. Staff seemed flustered and disorganized, making simple requests like early check-in or luggage assistance feel like major inconveniences. The lobby felt more like a transit hub than a welcoming space — noisy, crowded, and lacking any sense of calm.Once I got to my room, I hoped things would settle down, but the chaos continued. Hallways were loud at all hours, doors slamming constantly, and it seemed like there was some sort of uncoordinated event going on that the staff had little control over. Housekeeping knocked multiple times well before checkout, and one even entered without waiting for a response. The amenities advertised were either under maintenance or overbooked, and trying to get help or answers from the staff was an exercise in frustration. It felt like they were constantly playing catch-up, with no time or system to manage the volume of guests. All in all, my stay felt like being dropped into the middle of a hectic race — fast, noisy, and entirely lacking in comfort or hospitality. Unless this hotel can slow down and get its operations under control, I can’t recommend it for anyone looking for a restful or enjoyable experience.
May 16, 2025 · Faza reactsThe staff was excellent and very accommodating. The grounds were beautiful. It is a very complicated site with several buildings and one-way roads. Lots of signage but still had to stop and ask someone where to go. Quite a nice wedding ceremony venue and a good spread at the cocktail hour.
May 31, 2025 · Randall SchneiderYou have to park half a mile away from the rooms or pay $20+ for valet. Stairs everywhere no elevator. Dragging luggage down a long walk and then a long hallway with no assistance. The toilet flushes only if you hold the handle down until it’s completely empty. The coffee maker has so many coffee stains and residue it’s disgusting. The carpet in the room has several creases and rises for us to trip on. I’ve stayed at better campgrounds. I hate this place. The information says $25 buffet breakfast but we were told it was $35. There’s absolutely nothing open from noon to five to even get a drink or sandwich. This place is horrible. The worst place I’ve ever stayed.
May 31, 2025 · Rhonda MasseyWhat a delightful surprise! Tarrytown House Estate had me at “hello” (well, more like “welcome” from the warm and charming staff). These folks deserve a hospitality medal—friendly, attentive, and just the right amount of chatty. The place is a total stunner. Think vintage elegance meets peaceful retreat, with just a dash of historic mystery. And at night? Pure serenity. I even spotted a few deer just vibing on the property like they were guests too. No complaints from me—I’d share my room with those zen little guys any day.Location-wise, it’s a dream. NYC is just a quick train ride or car hop away if you’re craving city chaos—but honestly, with all the local charm and a restaurant that serves up serious deliciousness, you might not even want to leave the estate. All in all, I’m giving Tarrytown House Estate two thumbs up, a happy dance, and maybe even a slow clap. My crew and I are officially obsessed—and yes, we’re telling everyone this is the spot to stay when you’re heading to New York.
