Hello, New York locals! Are you dreaming of a quintessential summer escape, a place where time slows down, community thrives, and nostalgic charm abounds? Allow us to introduce you to The Rosmarins, a truly unique and beloved bungalow colony nestled in the heart of Monroe, NY. This isn't just a place to stay; it's a cherished summer tradition, a community where "everyone knows everyone else and kids can run and play without concern for safety." If you're seeking a private, tranquil, and distinctly nostalgic summer experience, The Rosmarins might just be the idyllic retreat you've been searching for.
The Rosmarins stands out as a "rustic, charming, full of life and history" destination, embodying the spirit of a traditional bungalow colony. Its origins likely date back to the mid-20th century, with bungalows built in the 1940s, preserving "much of the original charm." This heritage gives the community a unique character, transporting visitors to a simpler time. As one reviewer aptly put it, if you "attended summer camp as a kid you will find it nostalgic." It’s designed to provide "exactly what I need to enjoy the summer and nothing I don't," emphasizing a focus on relaxation, outdoor living, and social connection. The Rosmarins fosters a tight-knit, friendly atmosphere, described as "a bit of a Utopia" where residents and their guests can truly unwind. It's a place where "people here are nice for the most part," and new friendships blossom naturally over shared BBQs and leisurely walks. This highly communal and secure environment is what truly sets The Rosmarins apart from typical rental properties.
The Rosmarins is conveniently located at 12 School Rd, Monroe, NY 10950, USA. This address places it squarely within the charming town of Monroe in Orange County, New York. Its setting offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful, secluded atmosphere that feels like a genuine getaway, yet remains easily accessible from major roadways in the region.
For those traveling from various parts of New York, Monroe is readily reached via the New York State Thruway (I-87) and other state routes. Once in Monroe, School Road is a local thoroughfare that is typically easy to navigate. Given that The Rosmarins operates as a private bungalow colony, access is primarily for confirmed renters, leasers, and their invited guests, as explicitly stated in customer reviews. This exclusivity contributes to the safe and close-knit community feel that residents cherish. While there isn't information on public transportation directly to the specific address, Monroe does have some local services, though most visitors would likely arrive by car. The private nature of the property means parking is typically reserved for residents and their guests, ensuring convenience and security within the community.

Given that The Rosmarins operates as a private bungalow colony, primarily for seasonal rentals or leases, it does not typically offer "promotions" in the commercial sense that a hotel or public resort might. Instead, its core value proposition is the unique, long-term summer living experience it provides.
Any "offers" would likely be related to the terms of seasonal leases or rentals. For example, there might be benefits for renewing leases or for referring new residents (though this is speculative as specific programs aren't publicly detailed). The true "special offer" is the exclusive access to a cherished community, complete with shared amenities like the pool, lake access, and organized social events such as live shows and BBQs. These are benefits included as part of the seasonal rental experience rather than standalone promotions. Potential renters or those looking to stay with friends who rent should inquire directly about the availability of bungalows and the inclusive features of the seasonal lease. The enduring popularity and word-of-mouth recommendations, such as looking forward to "returning to stay with our friends that do" rent, suggest that the value of the experience itself is the main draw, rather than promotional discounts.

For New Yorkers, especially those in the Orange County region seeking a distinctive summer experience, The Rosmarins in Monroe offers an unparalleled opportunity. Its suitability for locals stems from its unique blend of nostalgic charm, private community, and an emphasis on relaxed, outdoor living. Unlike transient vacation rentals, The Rosmarins provides a sense of belonging and continuity, where families return season after season, fostering deep connections and lifelong friendships. This is exemplified by the customer who notes, "I go here a few times each summer to visit my friend, but over that time, I've made new friends."

The Rosmarins Reviews
Rustic, charming, full of life and history, it's the sort of bungalow colony I dreamed of. It's got exactly what I need to enjoy the summer and nothing I don't. The bungalows were built in the 40s and have much of the original charm. If you attended summer camp as a kid you will find it nostalgic. The community is right only. Everyone knows everyone else and kids can run and play without concern for safety. It's a bit of a Utopia in that way. Though we do not rent ourselves, we look forward to returning to stay with our friends that do
Mar 27, 2025 · David EbertI go here a few times each summer to visit my friend, but over that time, I've made new friends. The people here are nice for the most part. It is a great place to relax. We have BBQs, take walks, go to the lake, and sometimes on weekends there are live shows. There is also a swimming pool. This place is not open to the public, only renters, leasers, and their guests.
