The Tillary Hotel Brooklyn Reviews
I hope this message finds you well. I recently stayed at your hotel, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standard of hospitality I expected. I’m writing to share my feedback in the hope it will lead to improvements for future guests. Before arrival, I called to inquire about the possibility of an early check-in and was told I would need to come in person to find out if the room was ready. When I asked if I could receive a call instead, I was told that was not an option. This seemed unnecessarily inconvenient, especially after a long journey.Upon arrival, I had to ask for assistance with my luggage. The staff simply pointed to where the bellhop cart was, and a gentleman nearby watched as I struggled to load my belongings. Later, I noticed he was helping another guest. This lack of courtesy and inconsistency in service was frustrating and disappointing. To make matters worse, once I got to the room, there was no toilet paper available. After traveling for six hours, needing to ask for such a basic amenity was both frustrating and unacceptable.Hospitality is the cornerstone of the hotel industry, and unfortunately, this visit fell well short of that expectation. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and implement changes to better train staff and ensure a more welcoming and thoughtful experience for all guests.
May 24, 2025 · Lisa HallPeople at the Desk were Very Friendly and nice! Room was very clean Bed and sheets clean and comfy! Had an Awesome Stay there! Highly Recommend if your planning on staying close to Manhattan or coming to Brooklyn!
May 21, 2025 · Christopher MartinI don't often leave reviews but this place is a dump. We couldn't check in until 5p even though we showed up at 12 expecting to only wait till 3. Got to room and they had a sheet on the bed and that's it l, along with stained pillows. The windows let a draft in and are not very sound proof. Seems to operate with limited staff ( who have been nice), but wouldnt stay here again, pay the extra and stay somewhere clean.
Apr 13, 2025 · Megan GibbsWe travelled from New Zealand in April 2025 and stayed at the Tillary for 5 nights of out 10 night trip. The hotel was really shabby compared to the photos. Common areas (hall - foyer - lift) were really tired and dirty. On the face of it our twin room was quite nice - but look closely and the cleaning was appalling (I searched under the nightstand for something I dropped and looked like it had never been vacuumed - absolutely filthy). The staff were completely unhelpful and disengaged / distracted. Unfriendly and did not ask us if we needed any directions anywhere, did not offer a map. Each time I stopped at reception I had to practically wave at them to get them to notice that I was standing waiting, most were on mobile phones talking and texting their friends.I had read on the hotel website before travelling that all stays included a voucher for free coffee (in their lobby cafe) and a free drink at their rooftop bar for every day of your stay. When I asked at reception apparently this was 'old' information and the website was wrong. Totally false advertising - super disappointing. The hotel location was so noisy- continuous loud music and honking from cars outside. Could not open a window. All in all - super disappointing. Would not recommend
May 29, 2025 · Kristie WilcoxWe enjoyed our stay at the Tillary Hotel. It’s a good location for us as we visit our son in Brooklyn Heights. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We got excellent coffee and pastries in the coffee bar in the morning. Easy check in and check out. The best part was a staff member: Andre!Andre welcomed at the front desk, remembered us the next morning and asked our visit with our grandchildren was going so far!! He was friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you Andre!
