Towne Inn Introduce
For New Yorkers and travelers passing through the scenic Hudson Valley, finding an accommodation that balances affordability with convenience is often a priority. The Towne Inn, located in Fishkill, NY, aims to serve those seeking a budget-friendly option for their stay. Situated directly on a major thoroughfare, it offers a practical stopover for individuals and families exploring Dutchess County or simply needing a place to rest during their travels.
The Towne Inn positions itself as a no-frills motel, providing essential lodging for guests. Its primary appeal lies in its cost-effectiveness, making it an option for travelers on a tight budget. It’s important for prospective guests to align their expectations with the motel's pricing, understanding that it prioritizes basic shelter over luxury amenities. The location on Route 9 is a significant advantage for those relying on easy access to local services and roadways.
However, it's crucial for anyone considering the Towne Inn to be aware of recent guest feedback regarding the property's condition and cleanliness. Reviews indicate that the motel is "very outdated" and that there have been concerns about maintenance, including "mold growing on the ceilings especially in the bathroom," "damaged ceilings and walls," and rooms that "smell like cigarettes." Guests have also reported issues with "cheap and thin" blankets with "cigarette burns holes" and "random stains," as well as "dusty windows" with "spider webs." Critters such as "stink bugs and cricket type bugs" and even a "mouse in the room" have been mentioned. While the price might be a draw, guests are advised to "keep your expectations low if you decide to come here" regarding cleanliness and overall upkeep. The internet service has also been noted as problematic, with frequent disconnections and slow speeds. Communication with staff, particularly with "the old Indian guy," has been described as challenging due to a "language barrier" and a "rude" attitude, though "the lady who cleans the rooms seems very nice." Prospective guests should weigh these factors carefully when deciding if the Towne Inn meets their specific needs and comfort levels for a stay in Fishkill.
The Towne Inn is strategically located at 767 US-9, Fishkill, NY 12524, USA. This places it directly on U.S. Route 9, a major north-south commercial artery that runs through the heart of Dutchess County and connects various towns and cities in the Hudson Valley. This prime location is a significant advantage for travelers, offering unparalleled accessibility.
For those traveling by car, which is the primary mode of transportation in this area, the Towne Inn's location on Route 9 ensures easy arrival and departure. It's highly visible and straightforward to find, eliminating the need to navigate complex side roads. Ample on-site parking is typically available at motels of this type, allowing guests convenient access to their vehicles directly from their rooms.
The motel's position on Route 9 also means excellent connectivity to major regional highways, including Interstate 84, which is just a short drive away. This makes the Towne Inn a practical stopover for travelers heading further upstate, downstate towards New York City, or east-west across New York and into Connecticut or Pennsylvania. Beyond highway access, being on Route 9 means guests are immediately surrounded by a multitude of commercial establishments, including gas stations, fast-food restaurants, sit-down dining options, and various retail stores. This proximity to amenities is a considerable convenience for guests needing quick access to essentials or a bite to eat. While public transportation options directly serving the motel may be limited to local bus routes, the location on a major road is primarily designed for vehicular access, making it highly accessible for drivers exploring the Hudson Valley region.
Based on the nature of a budget motel and guest reviews, the services offered at Towne Inn in Fishkill, NY, are likely to be basic and aimed at providing fundamental accommodation for travelers.
Lodging: The primary service is providing a room for an overnight or extended stay. Rooms are described as "pretty decent size."
Private Bathrooms: Each room would include a private bathroom, though reviews mention issues with "weak flush" toilets, "backed up" pipes, and "dirty and stained" showers.
Bedding: Beds are provided, though reviews note "cheap and thin" blankets with "cigarette burns holes" and "brown stains" on pillows, suggesting guests might consider bringing their own comfort items if sensitive.
In-room Amenities (Basic): Rooms likely include basic amenities such as a television, and potentially a small refrigerator or microwave, though specific details are not provided and guest expectations should be low given the overall feedback.
Air Conditioning/Heating: Standard climate control would be expected in rooms, though its condition and efficiency are not specified in reviews.
On-site Parking: Ample parking is typically available directly outside rooms for convenience.
Wi-Fi Access: Internet service is offered, but reviews indicate it "sucks as well. Every 2 minutes I get disconnected from it and it's just very slow," suggesting unreliable connectivity.
Housekeeping: Rooms are cleaned, and one reviewer specifically notes that "the lady who cleans the rooms seems very nice," indicating a positive aspect of the service staff.
Front Desk Assistance: A front desk is available for check-in/check-out and basic inquiries, though a "language barrier" with one staff member has been noted.
The Towne Inn in Fishkill, NY, presents a set of features and highlights that are important for prospective guests to understand, particularly in light of recent customer feedback.
Budget-Friendly Pricing: The most consistent "highlight" of the Towne Inn, as suggested by reviews, is its relatively low price point. For travelers on a strict budget, this motel offers an affordable option for an overnight stay, albeit with significant compromises on comfort and cleanliness. One reviewer notes, "I understand this place is cheap but you have to do better."
Prime Route 9 Location: Its placement directly on US-9 is a major practical advantage. This provides extremely convenient access for travelers driving through the Hudson Valley, minimizing detours and offering immediate proximity to gas stations, fast-food outlets, and other roadside conveniences. One reviewer did state, "But I like the location," confirming this as a positive.
Basic Accommodation Size: Rooms are described as "pretty decent size," suggesting they offer adequate space for a short stay, which can be a plus for those not seeking expansive luxury.
On-Site Parking: Direct access to parking is a standard motel feature and a practical benefit for guests with vehicles, allowing them to park close to their room.
Accessibility to Local Attractions (by car): Due to its location on Route 9 and near I-84, the Towne Inn serves as a functional base for reaching nearby Dutchess County attractions, including historic sites, parks, and dining options, provided guests have their own transportation.
Potential for Short-Term Stays: For very brief stopovers where travelers simply need a place to sleep before continuing their journey, the motel's budget pricing and location might be the determining factors, outweighing the reported cleanliness and maintenance issues.
It is crucial for guests considering the Towne Inn to weigh these practical advantages against the significant concerns raised in reviews regarding "mold," "dirty and stained" bedding and showers, presence of "rodents" and "bugs," poor internet connectivity, and reported rudeness from some staff. These issues heavily impact the overall guest experience, turning what could be a simple, affordable stay into a potentially uncomfortable one.
As a budget motel, the Towne Inn does not typically offer elaborate "promotions or special offers" in the way larger hotel chains or boutique accommodations might. Its core offering is already based on providing a low-cost lodging option. Therefore, specific promotional campaigns are unlikely.
However, guests might find that the inherent pricing structure is itself a form of "promotion" for those prioritizing extreme affordability above all else. For instance:
Consistent Low Rates: The "cheap" pricing mentioned in reviews suggests that the Towne Inn consistently aims to offer some of the lowest available rates in the area, which acts as a standing offer for budget-conscious travelers.
Walk-in Availability: Motels of this type often have availability for walk-in guests, which can be a form of convenience or a "last-minute offer" for travelers needing immediate accommodation without prior booking.
It's always advisable for prospective guests to check the latest pricing directly with the Towne Inn via phone or through any online travel agencies (OTAs) where it might be listed. While explicit discounts are rare, comparing rates to other local options will confirm its position as a budget choice. Guests should manage their expectations accordingly, understanding that the low price reflects the level of amenities and maintenance, as consistently pointed out in guest reviews.
For direct inquiries or to inquire about booking a stay at the Towne Inn, here is the contact information:
Address: 767 US-9, Fishkill, NY 12524, USA
Phone: (845) 896-6767
Mobile Phone: +1 845-896-6767 (This appears to be the same main contact number)
Given the type of establishment, it is unlikely to have a comprehensive official website with online booking features. The most effective way to inquire about room availability, current pricing, or any specific concerns would be to call the motel directly using the provided phone numbers. While some reviews mention challenges with communication due to a "language barrier" with one staff member, a direct phone call remains the best method for obtaining real-time information for a budget motel like the Towne Inn. Prospective guests should be prepared to ask specific questions regarding cleanliness, room condition, and amenities based on the feedback from previous visitors.
For New Yorkers, the Towne Inn in Fishkill might be considered suitable under very specific circumstances, primarily driven by a critically tight budget or a need for a very brief, no-frills stopover. Its most significant advantage for locals and travelers alike is its strategic location directly on US-9. This offers unparalleled convenience for those driving through the Hudson Valley, providing immediate access to major routes, gas stations, and various dining options. For individuals who prioritize minimal cost and straightforward access above all other considerations, and are willing to significantly lower their expectations regarding comfort and cleanliness, the Towne Inn could serve its purpose as a basic place to sleep.
However, it is vital for any New Yorker considering this motel to be fully aware of the consistent and significant negative feedback from past guests. The repeated concerns about mold, unsanitary bedding, presence of rodents and bugs, damaged facilities, and unreliable internet suggest that this is not a suitable option for those seeking even a modest level of comfort, hygiene, or a pleasant stay. While it offers a roof and a bed at a low price, the reported conditions raise health and safety concerns that may outweigh the financial savings for most travelers, particularly families or those with health sensitivities. Therefore, while its location and potential affordability are the primary reasons for its suitability, these benefits come with substantial drawbacks that require careful consideration before booking.

Towne Inn Reviews
I've been here years ago before the Indian people took over and it was way better back then. The rooms are not safe to stay in at all. There is mold growing on the ceilings especially in the bathroom. The ceilings and walls are also damaged and smell like cigarettes in the room even though the sign says no smoking. The blankets are so cheap and thin and also have cigarette burns holes in them and random stains like eww🤢The windows are really dusty and have spider webs all over them. This place is just very outdated. Also we saw stink bugs and cricket type bugs in our room. The cleanliness is not good here and the Internet also sucks as well. Every 2 minutes I get disconnected from it and it's just very slow. The old Indian guy is also kinda rude he needs to fix his attitude and tone. How can you afford a Tesla but can't afford to buy new clean bedding, good decent Internet, and fix the ceiling. This place is just very unsanitary and a health code violation! You do know mold produce toxic chemicals which can cause allergies and make people's asthma worse! it compromises people immune system and will get them sick and can possibly kill them!! I understand this place is cheap but you have to do better with the safety and cleanliness for people to stay here especially kids. This place is not worth the price they are charging, but the lady who cleans the rooms seems very nice 🙂
Apr 12, 2025 · Chill PillI stayed here for a night and I got some things to say. So where to start the room is pretty decent size but its not the cleanest. There is mold growing in the ceilings. Bedspreads had cigarette Burns and pillows had brown stains on them. The room was a bit dusty and as I was sleeping I woke up hearing a noise look down and there was a mouse in the room. So yeah take that as you will.I didn't care much for the bathroom either the toilet has a weak flush and the pipes in the sink and shower seems to be really backed up. The shower itself just seems so dirty and stained so I didn't use it. The old guy clearly has a language barrier he couldn't understand a word I was telling him. But eventually he got it.I know I shouldn't be expecting like a 5 star hotel or anything. I was just expecting it to be a bit cleaner with no mold or rodents running in the room. I didn't test the internet so not sure how that is but other reviews are saying it's trash.I personally would not come back here unless I really have to. The price is ok I guess, just keep your expectations low if you decide to come here. I would've gave 3 stars if it wasn't for the rodents the mold and the old dirty stained up bedspreads and shower. But I like the location.
Apr 20, 2025 · AlphaI stayed there for a year and never had a problem. The owner was very nice and helpful being that I was new to the area. The room was great for the price. The house keeper was there everyday to see if I needed anything and clean the room. I would and have recommended this place to several people. It deffently is affordable.
Aug 22, 2024 · amy chidesterStayed here years ago and it has improved slightly.. burns still on the bed covers, shower backed up and would not drain, and the patches on the ceiling are starting to mold. Cheaper than most motels in area. AND it shows,
