TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square boasts an enviable address at 324 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036, USA. This puts it squarely in the bustling Midtown West neighborhood, mere steps away from the world-famous Times Square. For both visitors and locals, the accessibility of this location is a significant advantage. You can practically walk to many major sights and entertainment venues. Broadway theaters, restaurant row, and the vibrant energy of Times Square are all within easy reach. Beyond walking, the hotel's proximity to multiple subway stations ensures seamless connectivity to the rest of Manhattan and beyond. Stations for the A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, 1, 2, 3, and 7 lines are all nearby, providing quick routes to destinations like Central Park, the Empire State Building, Museum Mile, and even the financial district.
The convenience extends to transportation hubs as well. The Port Authority Bus Terminal is just a short walk away, making it convenient for those arriving by bus. Penn Station, a major hub for Amtrak, NJ Transit, and Long Island Rail Road, is also easily accessible. TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square offers a range of services designed to make stays, particularly longer ones, more comfortable and convenient. While specific details can vary, hotels under this brand typically focus on providing amenities that cater to a more independent and self-sufficient guest experience. Based on common hotel practices and insights from guest reviews, here's what you can generally expect:
- Equipped Guest Rooms: Rooms come with kitchenettes featuring a mini-fridge, a two-burner induction stove, and a dishwasher, allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals.
- Breakfast Service: Complimentary breakfast is provided for guests, though a common guest comment points out that seating can be limited, especially during peak hours.
- Housekeeping: Cleaning services are available, with reviews indicating that rooms are generally kept clean.
- Internet Access: High-quality internet (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the hotel, a significant positive noted by guests.
- 24/7 Front Desk Staff: A polite and helpful staff is available around the clock to assist with check-ins, check-outs, and general inquiries.
- Elevator Access: The hotel provides elevator access to all floors. However, a specific customer review mentions that there is only one elevator, and it can be super slow, particularly during busy times like morning breakfast hours, as it is also used by staff.
While these services aim to provide a comfortable stay, guests should be mindful of the reported elevator limitations, especially if time-sensitive commitments are part of their itinerary. It's always a good idea to confirm specific service details directly with the hotel if you have particular requirements.
TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square, like any hotel, has its unique set of features and highlights that shape the guest experience. Drawing from real customer feedback, here are some of the key aspects that stand out:
- Excellent Location: Consistently praised as the top feature, the hotel's proximity to Times Square, Broadway, and numerous subway lines is a major highlight. It's in a prime area that is central but not overly crowded or noisy, allowing for easy exploration of the city by foot or public transport.
- Well-Equipped Kitchenettes: A significant advantage, especially for extended stays, is the inclusion of a mini-fridge, a two-burner induction stove, and a dishwasher in each room. This provides guests with the option to prepare their own meals, offering convenience and potential cost savings.
- Cleanliness: Guests generally report that the rooms are clean and that the cleaning service is effective, contributing to a comfortable stay.
- Polite and Helpful Staff: The hotel staff, particularly at the reception, receives high praise for being great, very polite, and helpful, contributing positively to the overall guest experience.
- Quality Internet: The hotel provides very good, high-quality internet access, which is crucial for both leisure and business travelers needing to stay connected.
- Good Night's Sleep: The rooms are described as conducive to a good night's sleep, providing a quiet environment despite the central location.
However, it's also important to note some reported areas that may not be highlights for all guests:
- Small Room Size: Some guests find the rooms, even King suites, to be quite small, with limited space for seating or a coffee table. The lack of overhead lighting in rooms is also mentioned, relying solely on lamps, which can make the room feel dark.
- Limited Breakfast Seating: While breakfast is offered, the dining area can become very crowded, especially during peak morning hours, making it difficult to find a seat.
- Slow and Single Elevator: A recurring complaint is the presence of only one elevator, which can be very slow, particularly when staff also use it, leading to significant wait times, especially in the mornings.
- Poor TV Functionality: Guests have reported frequent disconnections and problems with the in-room television, impacting entertainment options.
- Limited View and Leisure Area: Do not expect a grand view from your room, nor extensive leisure facilities within the hotel itself.
These points offer a balanced perspective, allowing prospective guests to set realistic expectations based on the experiences of previous visitors.

For locals in the New York region, TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square presents a compelling option for various scenarios, making it quite suitable despite some reported quirks. Its most significant asset, hands down, is its extraordinary location. Situated just off Times Square on 44th Street, it offers unparalleled access to Broadway shows, world-class dining, and the electric atmosphere of the city's most iconic neighborhood. For a New Yorker looking for a staycation, a weekend getaway without leaving the city, or simply needing a convenient base for a special event or visiting family, this location is incredibly practical.
The presence of well-equipped kitchenettes in each room is another major draw, particularly for locals. Whether you're entertaining guests, have dietary restrictions, or simply prefer the flexibility and cost savings of preparing some of your own meals, this amenity is a significant advantage. It allows for a more home-like experience, which can be a welcome change from typical hotel stays. The consistently praised cleanliness and friendly staff also contribute to a comfortable environment, making it a reliable choice for a pleasant stay.
While the small room sizes, limited breakfast seating, and the notoriously slow single elevator are points to consider, for a local, these might be manageable trade-offs for the prime location and the independence offered by the in-room kitchen facilities. If you're accustomed to navigating NYC's fast pace and occasionally tight spaces, these minor inconveniences might not detract significantly from your overall experience. The reliable internet also ensures you can stay connected, whether for work or leisure.
Ultimately, TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square is well-suited for locals seeking a strategically located, functional, and self-sufficient accommodation option in the heart of the city. It offers a convenient launchpad for enjoying all that Manhattan has to offer, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize location and the flexibility of in-room amenities above extensive leisure facilities or sprawling room dimensions.

TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square Reviews
Look, first of all, I'm from Brazil. In Brazil, it's very common for many hotels, including the vast majority, to have room service and breakfast every day. And, considering the daily rate that was mentioned, around 2000 reais, if any Brazilian is reading this, know that you won't get the same services if, for example, you use those 2000 reais to stay at a hotel here in Brazil. That's why I have to base my assessment on local hotels in the city. So, let's get to it, the room is small, not very big, there's no light above the bed, which is very common in many other hotels and even in American homes, so it might seem like the room is dark, because they use a lamp. The room is clean and the cleaning service works. The room is very well equipped, with a mini fridge, a two-burner induction stove, and a dishwasher. It is in an EXCELLENT location. You can do practically everything nearby, either by walking or by taking the subway, as there are several stations nearby. The staff were great, very polite, and we had no problems. There is breakfast, but there are not many places to sit. I think that was the worst part. Overall, I thought it was a great experience. I would definitely go back, and I would like to thank all the staff, especially the reception staff. It is a good room, which will ensure you have a good night's sleep. Don't expect a great view, because you won't have one, nor much of a leisure area. Furthermore, the television is also terrible. We had a lot of problems, as it kept disconnecting all the time. However, the internet was of great quality. Their internet is very good.
Apr 29, 2025 · José Alberto Alves Lemos NetoThe location is superb and close to the main area but not too crowded and busy. That’s the only thing I can say good about it.The elevator is super slow and it is only one! The workers/cleaners use the elevator to do their business but they stop on every floor and it’s added to the slowness! If you’re not in a hurry and have all day, then it’s a no issue for you, but not us because we have shows to go, restaurants, etc! In the morning, it’s even worse as every guests want to go down to eat their free breakfast! The room is pretty small for a king suite. There is no chair for the small table to work or eat. There is a tiny lounge, but no coffee table as it’s super tight.. The features are quite modern, and it’s clean.Paying $415/night isn’t worth it and not a good value with their not good amenities. Won’t be back.
May 16, 2025 · R W-CI enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly. Specially Russ or Ross (can't remember his name). The hotel is conveniently near Time Square. The studio suite had a kitchenette that was helpful for our stay. It also had a patio that was pretty big.If you need a ride to the airports ask the front desk to book a car service drop off for you. The price increases by $10 after 1pm fyi.My only complain is that the bathroom door slides side to side to open and close and when closing it, it stayed about an inch opened, so anyone walking by the door can see inside when youre taking a shower. The shower has glass doors so there was no way of avoiding that.Overall I enjoyed my stay.
Apr 28, 2025 · Sandy partyof3checked in at 530 when supposed to be 330. had to checkout early due to emergency. I have checkedout early for work travel numarous times in variety of marriot chains without issues, however here, it was foreign to the front desk. I had to discuss with front desk for 15 mins, with no supervisor manager around to give me proof of leaving while my family was stoodup. as advised, I called later to speak to manager as turned to l next day then turned to another day, no reponse to voicemail and still no call back or anything. also got charged incorrectly on my bill. choose elsewere, much better chains brand out there!!!!
Apr 17, 2025 · Yunus SahinThis is a solid option in the Times Square area especially if you are fortunate enough to get a great rate as I did. I was blown away by the value this hotel offers considering the sleek comfort and size of the rooms, the quality of the beds and linens, the utility of the kitchenette area, and the convenience to transit, dining, and theater. I often have to make recommendations for friends visiting the neighborhood and wanted to check this hotel out for a night before doing so. My experience was very positive and I have paid much more for much less in this neighborhood. I believe some of the bad reviews are from people that just don't know how run down, horrible, and overpriced fleabag hotels can be in NYC, especially in the Times Square area. This was an extremely pleasant exception and felt very safe, secure, comfortable, and new. The room was immaculate, all lighting and temperature controls worked, towels and soap and hot water were plentiful, king bed and linens were comfortable and clean. Wonderful modern bathroom. Smart TV worked great. Did not use the Wi-Fi so can't comment. Seating fabrics were clean, fresh, and cushions were comfortable. Hot water was instantaneous in the shower and at the sinks. Fridge kept drinks cold. Fast, courteous, personable, and effortless check-in made a great first impression.. Did not try the free breakfast so no opinion. Did not use the elevator as my room was up a short flight of stairs off the lobby. Literally nothing to complain about here and would stay again in a heartbeat.
