The 414 Hotel stands out in the bustling New York hotel landscape by offering a more intimate and personalized experience compared to larger, more traditional establishments. It’s housed within two historical townhouses, a feature that contributes to its unique character and provides a refreshing change from the typical skyscraper hotel. The hotel aims to provide guests with a comfortable and well-appointed base from which to explore all that New York has to offer, whether you're in town for leisure, business, or simply a local looking for a convenient staycation. With its focus on essential amenities and a friendly atmosphere, it caters to travelers and locals alike who appreciate a good value in a prime location.
The 414 Hotel New York Times Square boasts an enviable address at 414 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036, USA. This puts it squarely in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, a neighborhood renowned for its vibrant energy and incredible dining options. For New Yorkers, or those familiar with the city's layout, this location is incredibly strategic. You're literally steps away from "Restaurant Row" on West 46th Street, offering an eclectic mix of cuisines to satisfy any craving.
Accessibility is a major highlight of the 414 Hotel's location. Times Square, the dazzling crossroads of the world and home to Broadway's main shows, is a mere 15-minute walk away. This means you can easily catch a matinee or an evening performance without the hassle of long commutes. Beyond Times Square, the hotel is within easy walking distance of other major attractions. Broadway, with its iconic theaters, is just a short 10-minute stroll. For those attending events or conferences, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is also conveniently reachable within a 15-minute walk. Bryant Park, a beloved urban oasis, is another popular spot just a 10-minute walk away, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or enjoying seasonal events.
Public transportation access further enhances the hotel's appeal. The 42 St. - Port Authority Bus Terminal Station is an 8-minute walk, providing extensive bus connections across the city and beyond. Similarly, the 50 St. Station (8th Ave.) subway stop is also an 8-minute walk, offering quick access to multiple subway lines that can take you to virtually any corner of New York City. This excellent connectivity makes exploring the city effortless, whether you're heading downtown to the Financial District, uptown to Central Park, or across to the East Village. While there is no on-site parking available, the hotel's proximity to public transport negates the need for a car for most urban adventures.

Boutique Charm and Intimate Atmosphere: As a 22-room hotel housed in two historical townhouses separated by a garden courtyard, the 414 Hotel offers a distinctly intimate and homey ambiance. This is a refreshing change from the often-impersonal feel of larger hotels, making it a more welcoming experience for those seeking a personal touch.

It’s an ideal spot for guests to relax, enjoy a quiet moment, or perhaps even have breakfast outdoors during warmer months. This unexpected green space adds significant value and a peaceful vibe.
Complimentary Continental Breakfast: Guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. While not a full hot breakfast, it typically includes cereals, bagels, breads, English muffins, yogurts, and fruit, along with various spreads. This is a convenient and cost-saving amenity, especially in New York City.
Complimentary Evening Social Hour: A standout feature is the wonderful complimentary evening social hour, complete with beverages and canapés. This offers a chance to unwind and socialize, adding to the hotel's welcoming atmosphere and value.
Quiet, Tree-Lined Street Setting: Despite its proximity to the bustling Times Square, the hotel is located on a quieter, tree-lined stretch of West 46th Street. This allows for a more peaceful night's sleep while still being in the heart of the action.
Modern and Well-Appointed Rooms: The 22 guest rooms are described as immaculate, comfortable, and neatly decorated. They offer contemporary furnishings, flat-screen TVs, and iPod docks. Many rooms offer quaint tree-lined street views or views of the private courtyard.
Pet-Friendly Policy (on request, charges may apply): For those traveling with furry companions, the hotel may accommodate pets upon request, though charges may apply. This can be a significant advantage for pet owners.
No Elevator: It is important to note that the hotel, being housed in classic New York-style townhouses, does not have an elevator. However, staff are available to assist with luggage delivery to rooms. This is a detail to consider, particularly for guests with mobility concerns, but it also contributes to the historic and intimate feel.
When it comes to promotions or special offers, the 414 Hotel New York Times Square, like many establishments, often has fluctuating rates depending on the season, day of the week, and booking platform. While specific, fixed promotions are not consistently advertised as standard features, here are some general points to consider when looking for deals:
Off-Peak Season Savings: Prices for stays at the 414 Hotel tend to be lower during off-peak seasons. Typically, February and January are noted as periods when the cheapest deals can generally be found. This is a common trend in the hospitality industry, and New Yorkers looking for a local getaway might find better rates during these times.
Weekday vs. Weekend Rates: As is common in many city hotels, prices can vary based on the day of the week. Sundays and Mondays are often cited as the best days to find more affordable room deals, while Saturdays are typically the most expensive. If your schedule allows for a mid-week stay, you might find a better value.
Booking Platforms: Various online travel agencies and hotel booking sites frequently offer discounts or special rates for the 414 Hotel. It’s always a good practice to compare prices across different platforms (such as Hotels.com, Expedia, Booking.com, Kayak, etc.) to ensure you are getting the best available rate for your chosen dates. These sites often feature their own unique promotions or loyalty program benefits.
Direct Booking Benefits: While not always explicitly stated as a "promotion," sometimes booking directly through the hotel's official website can offer advantages such as access to exclusive rates, greater flexibility with cancellations, or additional perks that may not be available elsewhere. It's always worth checking their official site.
Last-Minute Deals or Early Bird Specials: Depending on occupancy forecasts, hotels may release last-minute deals or offer incentives for booking far in advance. It's advisable to monitor pricing closer to your desired stay dates or plan well ahead.
Since specific promotions can change frequently, it's always recommended to visit the official 414 Hotel website or consult reputable booking platforms for the most current offers and pricing for your desired travel dates.

414 Hotel NEW YORK TIMES SQUARE Reviews
As expected for the price and location. Easy check in with a fairly clean room. For the location and price, its a great value. These pics were right before checkout so don't mind the messy bed.No breakfast or any food supplied like a traditional big name hotel. If you just need a place to rest after a day of roaming the city this is great.
Mar 28, 2025 · Brandon VillanuevaOur first visit to NYC, location and budget were why we chose 414. Upon arrival at 240pm, the girl at the desk wasn't going to check us in until 3pm. Then changed her mind when we said we'd wait in the lobby. Computer wasn't working so we couldn't pay for our extra night. Our room was on the 4th floor, #403. There is no elevator. My error in not finding this out before booking. Bad knees don't like stairs. Room was what I envisioned a cheaper hotel would look like in NYC. Church across the street, abandoned building next door. The a/c did not work. The closet smelled very musty. The room had a very strong cleaner smell. Had to have the windows open our entire stay or would get too hot. The location was great. 1/2 a block of Restaurant Row in Hell's Kitchen, 15 minute walk to Times Square and Broadway. Was it worth the money? If I were at home absolutely no way. In Manhattan? Maybe. But I don't think we'll be back.
Apr 14, 2025 · Sonjalocation is unbeatable—just a short walk to Times Square and surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and 24-hour businesses. It made dining options incredibly convenient, especially after a long day of meetings. The hotel itself was perfect for my needs. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and ideal for getting a good night’s sleep. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed me to recharge after my busy days.
Jan 23, 2025 · Sadiya AshTold me mere hours before I am due to arrive that I need to cancel my reservation due to their ‘plumbing issue.’ No way jerks - this is your problem. Good luck dealing with my traveler’s insurance. I wanted to give this hotel a chance despite all of the negative reviews, but instead I’m writing one. Beware!
Apr 25, 2025 · Emily DavisMy experience at this hotel near square was fantastic! Despite being in such a bustling area, my room was a serene haven. It was well-maintained and cozy, which made for a great night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly welcoming and eager to help with recommendations. This is the perfect spot if you want to enjoy the city but appreciate a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.
