Belvedere Hotel Reviews
The Belvedere hotel is a great place to stay for people looking for best value and a convenient location in the Time Square/ midtown area. While the building shows its age a little, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and we felt very safe in the area. They were able to hold our luggage before/ after check in so we could start our day as soon as we got there. Everything went as planned- no complaints (only compliments) here.
May 26, 2025 · Cristin SchaubMy children and I had such a wonderful experience here while visiting NY for spring break! We had a seamless check-in even though it was very busy. Check out was the same! No hassle, no drama. Easy! We had no issues during our stay. Everything down to every detail was great. I appreciate the attention to environmentally friendly practices, and eco-friendly toiletries. Even though I had the "do not disturb" sign up, housekeeping very graciously checked in with me as she saw me entering and exiting the room daily just to be sure. The front lobby staff in charge of valet and luggage storage were so kind and accommodating. Truly top notch. I'm a single mom, and so traveling with two kids: I always need extra hands. One of these gentlemen packed my car for me once my luggage was brought out at departure! I was stunned. It was such a kind gesture and let me focus on getting my kids safely in the car and ready to drive home. We are so grateful for the hospitality and experience here. We'll stay with you again, no contest when we return!
Apr 18, 2025 · Kathleen BellDisappointing and unacceptable on every levelStaying at Hotel Belvedere was an incredibly disappointing experience. The room we were given had a persistent musty smell, as if it hadn’t been properly cleaned or aired out in ages. There was visible dust on the furniture, the bathroom had mold in the corners, and the fixtures were rusty and worn down. It felt more like an abandoned building than a hotel. What truly ruined our stay, however, was the way we were treated by a front desk staff member named Salem. From the moment we arrived, he was dismissive and disrespectful. He made passive-aggressive remarks about our background and spoke to us with clear prejudice due to our skin color and accent. His behavior was not just unprofessional—it was blatantly racist, classist, and xenophobic. No guest should ever be subjected to that kind of treatment. This hotel needs serious improvements, not just in maintenance but also in staff training and basic human decency. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere.
May 26, 2025 · Jose CorderoThings we enjoyed most during our stay:Excellent location – very close to Times Square, Broadway, and other major attractions.Front desk and office staff were kind and courteous. We appreciated being on a high floor. We booked a deluxe double-double room; the bathroom and kitchenette were modern and chic. Closet was also nice.Things we did not enjoy during our stay:The furniture near the beds was severely dated and worn. The TV was also outdated, with a laggy remote, and it lacked any casting capabilities. The carpet in our room had a strong, musty odor—enough to make it clear that the carpets aren’t regularly deodorized. The entire floor our room was on had a damp, humid smell as well. Our room had two windows facing 48th Street, but they were so dirty on the outside that we couldn’t see through them. Our fridge had a horrible stench coming out of it, which Room Service took care of. Then they tampered with the cold setting, spoiling our food and requiring an engineer to investigate and revert the setting. The "environmentally friendly" dispensers that you "squeeze" require an unnaturally amount of force in order to get them to dispense properly. We came for the location and would advise you the same. Otherwise, the 285/night (taxes incl) for 5 nights is NOT worth the money.
Jun 01, 2025 · Marihanna EuclidesVery disappointing stay – RUDE STAFF and dirty, outdated room …From the moment we arrived, we were disappointed. The room was old, dusty (especially the furniture), and the dresser drawers wouldn’t close, so we kept bumping into them … unacceptable for a hotel of this category. There were still items from the previous guest (a shopping bag, used wipes), and the bathroom was dirty with hair everywhere. Toiletries were empty and never refilled, even after leaving notes for housekeeping. We had to go ask reception directly. One of the windows was broken, letting in cold air and city noise. At night, the fridge made an awful banging noise that woke us up repeatedly.WORST OF ALL : two front desk employees were shockingly DISRESPECTFUL. One man, around 45 years old, of Pakistani/Indian descent, acted very arrogant and condescending. The woman, also around 45, American with red hair and glasses, was cold, rude, and aggressive in her tone. Even another guest behind me pointed out how unpleasant she was. At check-out, she didn’t ask a single question about our stay – just demanded payment for the taxes, with no courtesy. Finally, when we returned to pick up our bags (stored in the hotel’s free luggage room), that same man violently threw our bags onto the counter just because I said I didn’t have cash at that moment. I was literally heading to the ATM nearby, but his behavior was shocking.I’ve traveled a lot, and this was by far one of the worst experiences in terms of hospitality. Some staff were kind, but these two completely ruined our stay. I will never come back to this hotel.
