Fitzpatrick Reviews
We worked with Maria at the Fitzpatrick Hotel Group to secure a block of rooms for our New York Wedding. We knew we were in good hands after she emailed me soon after my inquiry via the hotel’s general mailbox congratulating us on our engagement and offering information about group rates. She went above and beyond to assist us and my guests with reservations, even getting on the phone with people to assist them with arrangements. We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan location and every person we encountered from the front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping were so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and if we needed anything (such as extra towels, coffee, etc.) we got it immediately. We were very pleased. Since our wedding was in Central Park, the location was perfect!
May 26, 2025 · Elena MacalusoWhere to begin? Unfortunately, my experience at the hotel fell far short of expectations. I reserved a non-accessible Deluxe Queen Room and confirmed in advance that a portable shower stool would be provided. (I am recovering from foot surgery, cannot walk, and use a knee scooter for mobility). Instead, I was assigned an accessible room with a wall-mounted chair in the shower (that was unclean and slimy). Unlike a wheelchair, a knee scooter cannot be taken into a shower and, with only one functional leg, I have to balance myself carefully -- making the setup especially unsafe. Also, roll-in showers lack water barriers, and I’ve learned from past experience that this leads to water flooding the bathroom floor—creating a serious slip hazard for someone in my condition. When I raised the issue with the front desk, I was told I had been "upgraded," a factually incorrect statement. In reality, my original reservation and the specific accessibility arrangements I had made were simply disregarded. It's possible the hotel never had a portable shower stool, despite assurances to the contrary. The bathroom also lacked basic amenities such as towel racks or hooks, making it impossible to hang towels -- a baffling omission in any hotel room, let alone one supposedly designed for accessibility. All that said, I want to sincerely thank the tall, young woman at the front desk who was kind, empathetic, and genuinely tried to help. Although no alternative room was available, she went out of her way to bring me extra pillows so I could elevate my injured leg, an act of thoughtfulness I deeply appreciated. As for the room itself, it was dark, dated, and unclean:* There were makeup stains on the bathroom wall;* The thermostat was broken and had been taped to the wall;* The air conditioning did not work -- it blew only HOT air despite outdoor temperatures nearing 90°F.We tried to get ventilation by opening the windows, only to find: (1) one window with a broken balance that slammed shut dangerously (thankfully, no injuries); and (2) another window that lacked a screen (exposing us to the elements and dead cockroaches visible immediately outside). Also, the sheets were rough and uncomfortable, and there was no suitable chair in the room for someone who cannot stand to dress—only a rickety desk chair with wheels without a locking mechanism.Despite booking the breakfast and WiFi package, we were not given the WiFi name or password at check-in. When I asked the next day, the response was vague: “I think this is it—let me know if it doesn’t work.” Not exactly reassuring. The cleaning staff also failed to leave breakfast menus in the room for door pickup. When we asked an older gentleman at the front desk for them, he acted as though the request was unreasonable, despite our prepaid package.NO, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE FITZPATRICK HOTEL ON LEXINGTON AVENUE.
Apr 23, 2025 · Angela GrantOur first time staying at this boutique hotel. From the front staff to the bar and wait staff was amazing. So helpful and welcoming. The food was very good! The flatbread pizza was delicious with shot honey drizzle. The French onion soup was delicious and I am very picky about my French onion soup. The staff is very attentive and overall great experience. Carolina, the bartender, and the young gentleman assisting were phenomenal!
Jan 27, 2025 · JamesLove the Fitzpatrick. Midtown location is great. Close to the best shopping, 5th Ave., Madison Ave. Central Park, Museums, Lincoln Center. No annoying crowded lobby with people posing, yakking on phones and doing selfies. Civilized adult clientele who love to travel low key. Food is good. Love the Irish breakfast. Great restaurants nearby.I used to live in Manhattan on the upper East Side. Always recommended Fitzpatrick to visiting friends. Now when I come to NYC, this is my go to hotel.
May 30, 2025 · emery sztankoczyThe location is fantastic and easy to get to public transport, as with most places in Manhattan in NYC. In that sense, it’s not really that competitive given the public transport system is so accessible throughout NYC. The room itself was good, and housekeeping was diligent each day. However, much of the service otherwise fell short. When we checked in, they were not thorough with check-in and orientation as most hotels of this caliber, e.g., informing you of how to get onto WiFi, gym / recreation facilities, etc. They are not forthcoming about the gym pass and only provide if asked. They have a daily pass to TMPL that they will give you, but it is not advertised anywhere and they do not tell you about it either. We also asked for another chair to be placed in the room so we could work. This took 2 days to sort out - they forgot about it the first time so we had to call the next day to ask for it again. There were a few requests like this that slipped through the cracks and needed multiple reminders.WiFi was sufficient for working, including lots of office calls and zoom calls. AC was functioning well, and appreciated in the humid weather of spring. Other than the service / hospitality, we generally enjoyed our stay.
