I DO NOT recommend. Never stay at this hotel. Very old. The rooms are terrible. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls. It is unclear if there was ever an inspection. For 4 people they gave only two sets of towels. The sockets do not hold chargers. I regret not reading the reviews before booking this hotel. And for this whole nightmare I paid $160 for one night. I wasted my money. - Scarlett

Flushing Hotel Introduce

The Flushing Hotel, located at 36-38 Main St, Flushing, NY 11354, USA, presents itself as a lodging option in the vibrant heart of Flushing. Its phone numbers are (718) 888-8668 and +1 718-888-8668. As a hotel situated within what could be considered a "Scenic Spot" platform category, it offers a base for exploring the rich cultural tapestry and numerous attractions of Flushing, Queens, a borough known for its diverse culinary scene, vibrant street life, and proximity to major New York City landmarks and transportation hubs. This introduction will provide an objective overview of the hotel, drawing on available information to detail its environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional aspects, keeping in mind the perspective of a local user looking for corresponding services or goods for sale within this bustling area.

From an environmental perspective, the Flushing Hotel's location on Main Street places guests directly amidst the energy of Flushing. Main Street itself is a dynamic hub, characterized by a dense concentration of businesses, restaurants, and shops, offering a constant flow of activity. This prime location means that guests are steps away from a myriad of dining experiences, ranging from authentic Asian cuisine to diverse international flavors, as well as various retail opportunities. The area is highly walkable, allowing visitors to easily immerse themselves in the local culture and explore nearby parks or cultural centers. Public transportation is a significant aspect of the hotel's environmental context, with the subway station reportedly a mere five-minute walk away. This provides convenient access to Manhattan and other boroughs, making it an appealing choice for those who wish to explore the wider New York City area without the higher costs often associated with staying in Manhattan. However, it is important to note that the immediate surroundings, while convenient, are described by some guests as exhibiting a degree of wear and tear, with common areas potentially showing signs of age and lacking meticulous upkeep.

Regarding services, the Flushing Hotel offers fundamental lodging provisions. Guests can expect a room for the night, providing a place to sleep and store belongings. While specific amenities like a gym, business center, or on-site restaurant are not prominently mentioned in available information, the core service is providing an accessible and relatively affordable overnight stay in New York City. The front desk staff, as noted by some reviewers, may not always be highly proficient in English, which could present communication challenges for some guests. However, some positive experiences highlight the staff as generally pleasant and helpful, indicating a willingness to assist within their capabilities. Housekeeping services are provided, though the consistency and thoroughness may vary, as suggested by mixed feedback on cleanliness and maintenance. The hotel aims to provide basic necessities, such as towels and bathroom accessories, though quantities might be limited, requiring guests to potentially request additional items if needed. Wi-Fi availability, while a common expectation, is not explicitly detailed, but usually, budget hotels offer at least basic internet access. Payment processing appears to be straightforward, with no reported issues concerning credit card transactions or billing accuracy, which is a crucial aspect of reliable service.

The features of the Flushing Hotel, based on customer feedback, lean towards a no-frills, utilitarian approach. Rooms generally include air conditioning/heating units that are reported to be functional, a television, and a secure door, indicating attention to basic comfort and safety. The absence of carpeting in some rooms is noted, which can be a preference for some travelers due to perceived cleanliness or allergy concerns. While some reviews mention worn furnishings, such as cigarette holes in bedding, others describe the rooms themselves as clean. The electrical outlets are a recurring point of concern, with reports of them not reliably holding charging blocks, which could be a significant inconvenience in today's digitally dependent travel. Water pressure is described as somewhat weak, though hot water is consistently available and often scalding. The hotel's age is a prominent feature, manifesting in older infrastructure and decor. This can contribute to issues like peeling wallpaper in some rooms. For the budget-conscious traveler, a key feature of the Flushing Hotel is its price point, which is significantly lower than the average nightly rate for New York City accommodations. This affordability, coupled with its excellent location, can be a major draw for those prioritizing cost savings over luxury or extensive amenities. The hotel also features a quiet environment within the rooms, even on weekends, which is a positive aspect for rest and relaxation despite the bustling external environment.

From a promotional standpoint, the Flushing Hotel's primary appeal lies in its value proposition. For a city where accommodation can be exceptionally expensive, the hotel offers a relatively low entry point for staying within the five boroughs. Its strategic location near the subway, surrounded by an abundance of dining and shopping options (including popular local eateries like Shanghai You Garden), serves as a powerful promotional asset. The hotel caters to travelers who are willing to overlook cosmetic imperfections and limited amenities in favor of affordability and convenient access to New York City's attractions. While the hotel does not appear to engage in extensive luxury promotions or package deals, its continuous operation and direct phone numbers indicate a consistent offering of basic lodging. The promotional message, implicitly conveyed by its pricing and location, targets individuals and families seeking to maximize their budget while exploring the vibrant Queens and New York City landscape. For a "Scenic Spot" platform category, the hotel offers an economical base camp. While it may not offer services directly associated with a scenic spot (e.g., guided tours, equipment rentals), its proximity allows guests to independently engage with the local attractions, whether that be enjoying the diverse culinary scene, exploring nearby parks like Kissena Park, or visiting cultural institutions. The hotel essentially sells access to the "scenic spot" of Flushing and beyond, by providing a place to sleep at a competitive price.
