Hampton Inn by Hilton New York Times Square Reviews
The location of the hotel is terrific. It’s next to many subway entrances and feet away from Times Square. My issues were: our view, we paid for a city view and because of the side and floor they put us on (33) it was just blocked by other buildings and that was their excuse. So I paid more for essentially no view. They don’t specify that. Second, the elevators are terrible. There’s 5 elevators in total and it takes up to 45 minutes to get to your room at times or to get down to the lobby, with each elevator being tiny and only holding maybe 7-10 people if they’re all small. With luggage that’s another story. Breakfast was alright, they do offer a decent selection and it tastes like hotel breakfast. However, it was also jam packed to try and get food and grab a table to enjoy it. Lastly, be sure to note there is a $100 deposit (per night) which cost me $700 for 7 nights which was quite the expense on an already expensive trip. I didn’t bring a car so I can’t comment on parking. The ac works but it’s a fixed temperature that doesn’t go below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. So if you’re a warm sleeper, be prepared. You’ll also need to ask for extra pillows as they flatten thinner than cardboard. This was all my personal experience.
Apr 30, 2025 · Ciera HathawayVery pleased with my stay here, we had an early flight in and a late flight out. When I arrived to the hotel at noon I asked to store my luggage but they surprisingly gave me a room that was ready and when we left they stored our luggage. Complimentary breakfast was ok, the best time to get there really was between 6am-7am as they suggest, between 8-9 it was nearly impossible to catch the elevator. The day we were leaving my 7 year old and I waited for 20 mins before I told her we were going to just carry our luggage’s downstairs fortunately we were only on the 5th floor so it wasn’t terrible. I think to make the elevator system they have was cool, but could be more efficient if there was a way to put how many occupants would be riding up at a time and having a cutoff because it got stuffy in there a few times. Overall though, very pleased with the cleanliness, professional from the staff, and convenience of the location - we walked to many of the sites we wanted to see. I’ll be booking again in the future.
Apr 26, 2025 · EsmiThis is often one of the cheaper Hilton hotels in Manhattan. The location for transport access is good. The location near Times Square is very, very busy. It is noisy, both outside noise and within fromdoors shutting and thin walls between you and neighbours. My experience was people were loud in the corridor at times. The rooms are small, yet have well rounded facilities and a good shower pressure. The AC does not go below 68F and is very loud. I turned it off and in the morning the room was 76F. Lifts between 7am and 10pm even with the computer control (enter floor get assigned a lift). Check in for me was quick, later the queue was 12 deep. I would stay again due to low price.
May 05, 2025 · Ian BeeThe rooms are tiny. At least ours was. I would have liked an extra blanket. Free breakfast is ok. Very crowded and no fresh fruit or yogurt like other Hampton inns. It took forever for our room to be ready. We stored our luggage and went to a show and dinner first. The elevators are weird. You need your key to operate them and you tell the panel on the wall what floor you want and it tells you what elevator to take. There aren't any buttons inside the elevator for floors. They're so slow we took the stairs a few times. Very busy area near Times Square and lots of guys pushing hop on hop off rides.
May 21, 2025 · Hannah RowanRooms small but had small fridge, microwave, desk, clothes hanging space. So hot in room, thermostat would only go down to 68 but warm & stuffy, so had to open window and no screen. Wallpaper peeling off wall on both sides of room. Ordered a waterview room, hotel overbooked so they gave me a city view room which looked out to a close building’s windows. Elevators were a joke unless using them before 7am, one morning I took steps down 23 flights to pick up breakfast to bring back to room for my daughter and me. No room to sit down for breakfast so had to bring to room. Because hotel overbooked check in was delayed past three and both times small lobby sitting area full so my daughter and I sat on floor before and after 3 to rest and the lobby footman came over and rude to us for sitting on floor instead of offering to grab us 2 seats from breakfast area that was being used for luggage storage area. Warm breakfast items were cold by the time elevator would arrive to bring me back upstairs to eat since breakfast area seats were full. Maybe just used to staying at pricier Marriott Marquis where you are treated better and really catered too with comfort and roominess and better city views. Will try different hotel next time
