Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel Reviews
This was an absolutely fantastic hotel. Check in was smooth and easy, the staff was friendly, and the room was very nice. Everything was well cleaned, the view of times square was quite nice too. The gym was a great size, with plenty of equipment and space. The upper lobby area was quite nice too. They had a bar and an area to sit in the window looking over times square. Overall my experience was a solid 8.5/10. The very close by subway entrances were nice since it was so cold. The sound of times square was very loud all through the night and day, but that is expected in NYC and there's not many places where it's quiet anyway.
Mar 16, 2025 · Oliver EstevesJust returned from a week in NYC, staying at the Renaissance NY TS hotel. This hotel is THE most central hotel in Times Square. You will not find a better located hotel than this. Our room was a good size, with two double beds, TV, desk, mini fridge, a good size bathroom... Barely heard any noise coming through the walls from other guests, although the noise from outside in the corridors was a little too much at times. The doors could do with a bit of soundproofing. If we ever got woken up or distracted by noise, it was always from the corridors or other guests slamming the doors to their rooms. Hope this is something that is addressed in the future... But the view was superb! The hotel has a great lobby, with staff available to help with any queries. It also has a quick-stop shop for some refreshments and snacks, but they are a bit on the pricey side... It's cheaper to go to a store, but this in-house shop can be very useful at times.Overall, a fantastic hotel in a prime location which is incredible for the price I paid. Recommended, 100% :)
Mar 02, 2025 · Nick BakerI would not recommend this hotel for many reasons except for its location. There were 24 us staying here for a mother/daughter reunion. We got stuck in the elevator between the ground floor and lobby. So weird and inconvenient. that you have to go up a flight and have to switch elevators. No ventilation dark, no communication w front desk. in the small elevator. Thank god we had service and our friends were communicating w us on what was happening. When we called for help, there was no answer or no compassion for us. 45 min later the fire dept showed up and pried the door open. A couple of us had panic attacks due to Claustrophobia and diabetes. There was no compassion. No compensation for free dinner, stay or anything. Just that we have to contact the insurance company. Other elevators were also getting stuck. Other cons: no bathroom on lobby level. Not enough lighting in the room, no irons or microwaves in the room. The most basic things they don’t have. Beds were hard and uncomfortable.store in the lobby is way over priced. Good luck
Mar 11, 2025 · Renna CaringtonRoom was very good. Hotel bar/market was extremely expensive and a bit disappointing though, and there was no restaurant (its being built at this time, May 2025). The gym was great, lots of machines. We had a room with two doubles on 5th floor. Even though it wasn't that high, it wasn't too loud, you could hear the street a bit but not badly.Next to some broadway theatres - I met George Clooney and Clark Gregg outside the hotel so that was cool.
May 30, 2025 · Kate ArmerI will preface the review with the fact that I am an Ambassador Elite Member with Marriott and I travel over 200 nights per year.Avoid this place like the plague! It is one of the most disgusting properties I have stayed at, even worse is that it carries the Renaissance badge. My room was dirty, there was pubic hair all over the floor, which I cleaned up. There was grease all over the desk and the worst of all was the condition of my bed.The duvet was all balled up and disgusting. The bed wasn’t even made properly making me wonder if they even stripped the bed prior to my arrival. See pictures after house keeping started to strip the bed. What’s worse about this is I had better choices of Marriott properties that rival this brand, at a lower rate. Yet, I chose this one as the Renaissance brand is a fantastic brand.Management should be ashamed of themselves as the condition reflects their management style and their attention to details.
