Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Chelsea Reviews
I was expecting a much better experience from a Hilton property, but unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. The service was mediocre at best — staff seemed indifferent and not particularly welcoming. Upon checking in, I noticed the room I was assigned had a noticeable stain and a heavy odor, which forced me to switch rooms. Not the kind of first impression you want after a long day of travel. The overall layout of the hotel also leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms are equipped with extremely heavy doors that slam shut loudly, echoing through the entire hallway. It made it almost impossible to relax or enjoy any sense of peace and quiet. For a Hilton chain, I definitely expected more attention to comfort and quality. I would think twice before booking here again.
Apr 28, 2025 · Cristoffer BohorquezI would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. It was one of the worst stays I’ve had. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and clearly need to be replaced. The bathroom had peeling paint and was poorly maintained. The property looked nothing like the photos and description online, which was very disappointing. The TV in the room did not work, and the fridge door was broken and barely hanging on. The carpets throughout the room were filthy, with noticeable stains. Overall, the condition of the hotel was far below acceptable standards and needs serious improvements.
Apr 28, 2025 · fernando echeverriaNot a very good experience. We went on a family trip in October. The second day, my son’s stuffed animal was taken from our room while we were out and about. As I cannot believe it’s been stolen in our room, my guess is that it’s been sent to cleaning with the sheets and the comforter because they are replaced EVERY SINGLE DAY which is totally insane. Luckily, we hadn’t left more valuable personal belongings on the beds, although what we’ve lost was emotionally important for our kid.Nobody from the cleaning team or the front desk seemed to care and nobody helped much to locate it.I sent several emails to the management and never received any answer.About the hotel: rooms are fine but a bit small, location in the center of Chelsea is convenient but comes with disadvantages: it’s very noisy. Noise comes from the inside too: our room was close to the elevators which are squeaking all night long. Additionally, you can hear doors slamming from everywhere on the floor.All-in all, value for money is average, but you have to lower your expectations.
Mar 28, 2025 · Hugo NHad the pleasure of spending 2 weeks at this property and loved my stay there. My room was cleaned everyday and loved coming back to it smelling fresh! The staff were all very pleasant especially Liza and Tammy in the restaraunt. I had the pleasure of meeting the GM Mark Wellins daily because he was very present all the time, a wonderful person and it shows in his hotel. Location is very near to subways, Madison Square Garden, Penn Station and I even walked to Times Square a few times from there. My new go to hotel when in NY. Looking forward to staying here again!
Apr 28, 2025 · alvin jamesOne of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to staying in hotels - we got to the room and there were no bath towels. We called down to the reception and they said they refused to bring us anything because housekeeping had left for the night. The front desk reception did not care at all and frankly were downright rude the rest of our stay. They told us over the phone “I don’t actually care.” Truly the most disrespectful experience I’ve ever had with the front desk. If you want basic amenities such as towels and such, I’d recommend staying somewhere else!
