Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown by IHG

300 Schermerhorn St, Brooklyn, NY 11217, USA

3.0
I am very confused about this place. It’s totally run down and anything else than nice. At the same time the service was very friendly. The bed itself super clean and amazingly big and comfortable. So was the bathroom, spotless clean. The room furniture is so old that the leather chair and sofa are worn out and it’s skin peels off. The flooring below your feet is uneven and gave me a discomforting feeling walking barefoot in the room. The room is fully carpeted and looks dirty and old.The wall is covered by wooden board; old fashioned. And once I got too close to it in order to close the curtains above it, one of the board just fell off onto my feet.I can’t believe I had to pay 300+ for this awful experience per night during the spring break season.I’m very disappointed of this hotel. The best thing about it was its great location in downtown Brooklyn with direct access to the metro. - YB Yavuz

While the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown by IHG operates as a standard hotel, offering competitive rates for its location, it typically does not feature specific, ongoing "promotions or special offers" that are publicly advertised outside of standard seasonal discounts or loyalty program benefits. As an IHG property, guests can leverage the IHG One Rewards program for potential savings and perks.

However, for New Yorkers looking to book a staycation or visitors planning their trip, here are some typical ways you might find a better deal or value:

  • IHG One Rewards: Joining the free IHG One Rewards loyalty program can earn you points on stays, which can be redeemed for future nights, room upgrades, or other benefits. Members sometimes receive exclusive rates or early access to promotions.
  • Advance Purchase Rates: Hotels often offer discounted rates for bookings made well in advance, which are usually non-refundable.
  • Seasonal or Holiday Promotions: During off-peak seasons (like February and March, as suggested for cheaper deals by some travel sites) or certain holiday periods, hotels may offer special packages or reduced rates. Conversely, during high-demand times like "spring break season," prices can be significantly higher.
  • Corporate Rates: If you are traveling for business, inquire about corporate rates through your company, as many Holiday Inn properties have agreements with various businesses.
  • Package Deals: Check major online travel agencies (Expedia, Hotels.com, Kayak) for hotel + flight or hotel + car rental packages, which can sometimes offer overall savings.
  • Direct Booking Benefits: Occasionally, booking directly through the IHG or Holiday Inn website might provide exclusive benefits, such as free Wi-Fi, flexible cancellation policies, or access to special offers not found elsewhere.

It's always recommended to compare prices across different booking platforms and the official IHG website to ensure you're getting the best available rate for your desired dates. Be mindful that "NYC prices these days" can be high, with rates for this hotel often hovering around "$300-$400/night" or more, particularly during peak seasons.
