Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West by IHG Reviews
This hotel excels for the price you pay. Come on... free bfast. Yes it is the standard cereal, breads & muffins, some sort of eggs, meat & potatoes. Fruit h yogurt. The room was clean, well maintained and they offered a 2 double room which worked exactly as i needed. The room was smallish but i was only using it to rest after a long day of sightseeing. They even will hold your bags if you want to explore the city more after you check out until you need to leave. Front desk staff were all professional and friendly. My only issue with room us there was no luggage stand to put bag on.
May 28, 2025 · Kelli BrockingtonThis hotel is in great location. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.The lobby is tiny and the staff are liars, terrible ones at that. We booked a King room, but we're given a Queen ADA room. When I asked, the child behind the counter said, "Our kings and queen are the same size" as if she thought I'd just landed on this planet and didn't travel dozens of times a year. The room looks like it should've been updated about 20 years ago! Nasty, dingy carpet, a saggy and soft bed that's terrible on my bad back, a toilet that barely flushes, noisy room, and furnishings from the late 90s/early aughts. The 11 floor building only has 2 TINY elevators and one was out of service on a weekend with tons of cruise passengers and tourists everywhere. It's a half-hour ordeal to get up to and down from your room. The elevator has no adaptable logic, either. It goes up, stopping at all called floors until it reaches toe topmost called floor, then jt heads down stopping at all called floors along the way. This means that if your on, say, the 4th floor, anyone above you wait for an elevator will get on first even if they just walked up and pushed the button. We've had to wait on 3 full elevators before we could leave our floor! It's ridiculous and dangerous.Free breakfast is another mess. On the weekends they don't start serving breakfast until 7am (instead of 6 like weekdays) which doesn't make sense. People were seated and waiting on breakfast starting at at least 6am. When breakfast finally opened at 7, I counted 38 people lined up to serve themselves. It took forever. And their juice machine only dispenses water, or maybe it's apple juice or dirty water. If you want juice, they put out bottles like you'd buy for home for the throngs of guests. Good luck getting juice. I only managed a partial glass of warm cranberry from a sticky bottle sitting randomly on the counter. And the staff are about as friendly as a wet log. You'd think if you decided go into the customer service field you'd know how to, or maybe be inclined to, offer customers a little service. Not here. This was easily the worst hotel experience of our lives and a tipping point for IHG Hotels for us. If we can't trust the brand for a certain level of consistency then it's time to stop booking in the IHG brand. I've rarely been disappointed by Marriott or Hilton properties, but Holiday Inn has lost my business.
Apr 27, 2025 · Tom GardinerWow, I am impressed. This place is definitely a must every year when I come into town. Right location, beautiful setting. Hospitality staff. If you are always on the road this is a hotel to enjoy and relax 1 night or few days. If you are on vacation or a couple weekend getaway. This is the Place as well..!! The bedsheets are so soft. Thanks the whole staff awesome.Special thanks to William, Azdea,Nadine, Pemala and Gabby I interacted with all of them and you guys made me feel welcome, I know how stressful this job can be but you perform a stellar service on day to day. I think the influence from the Boss on top mr Ben Ortiz help as well, I observed what kind a leader he is. Great job to the whole team
Apr 28, 2025 · Felipe Rios M.Our stay here was pretty bad compared to other stays at a holiday inn. First, we were put in room 115. If they try to put you in this room REFUSE. This room shouldn’t even be available for guests. It’s a slap in the face. It’s right next to the lobby, so for obvious reasons is incredibly loud and impossible to sleep after 7am. On top of that, it’s next to the Ice machine which sounds like someone pounding on your wall. Our first night was horrible, and they had the audacity to ask why we wanted to switch rooms the next morning. We switched rooms and the new room was much better. After that, the issue was with breakfast. Liked the options, but the juice machine only pours water and it seems like they put out 1 juice bottle for the entire hotel each morning. So by the time we got down to breakfast it was gone, not even the juice bottle in sight but I see people with juice in their cups. Ridiculous. At one point, one of the elevators was out of order and people were smashing into them with staff with full carts. Reading the other reviews, this seems to be a common thing, which is unsettling riding in the elevators.Lastly, at 830 in the morning our last morning, someone’s kid was banging on the doors and running around which woke us up. Why would staff allow this to happen? We heard it faintly down the hall and then extremely loud on our door.On top of that our WiFi for the hotel wouldn’t work and nobody could give us answers why.We won’t stay here again. After reading the other reviews, Holiday Inn doesn’t even need to respond to my review with some lackluster, uncaring, non genuine response like they did the other reviews. This is for anyone wanting to come to the hotel. Not a comment meant to be answered with empty promises to change things.
Apr 14, 2025 · Cameron GStayed here for one night whilst i visited new york (had to change hotels midway through the trip due to a flight cancellation fiasco and having to go at a later date), rooms were nice, bog standard holiday inn, basically identical to what you would find in an english holiday inn too, so nice and cosy but nothing flashy. Vending machines on one or two floors which was a nice touch, bathroom and bed seemed clean upon a quick inspection (i was very tired after a long long flight lol), decent sized tv. The street it is on is certainly nothing special, pretty stereotypical new york street, but it is close to times square and many shops+cafes etc, which was very handy. The downstairs area was ok, clean and tidy with a good selection of food on sale seemingly 24 hours a day, very small area though (not that it's necessarily a bad thing though) breakfast was very tasty, bacon, eggs, sausages, pancakes, juices, cereal, biscuits etc all on offer, again nothing too flashy but tasty and filling, large TV in the dining area playing the news which is a pleasant way to start the day, would stay again.
