Hotel AKA NoMad Reviews
We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and had a lovely experience! I was a bit nervous after reading some recent reviews, but everything was wonderful. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the rooms had everything we needed. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the nightly $40+ service fee…which wasn’t clearly explained and didn’t seem to include much (no breakfast or water). I just wish that had been more transparent. Otherwise, it’s a great location and we really enjoyed our stay!
May 28, 2025 · Yessenia BaezI’ve stayed at many hotels, both budget and luxury, and this has been by far the worst experience in terms of hospitality and customer service. One travels to feel welcome and have a good experience — this hotel delivered the opposite. After a 12-hour flight, we were given our room only to find that none of the plumbing worked: no shower, no toilet, no sink. We had to wait over two hours while a (very kind) plumber attempted to unclog everything. As expected, the bathroom was left in an absolute mess. I politely asked for someone to clean it and bring fresh towels — a basic request under the circumstances. No one from the hotel staff responded. It wasn’t until I raised my voice that anyone even acknowledged me — and when they did, the interaction was shockingly hostile. A woman, visibly angry, literally threw towels in my face. No apology, no courtesy, nothing. For $400 a night, the very least one should expect is a working bathroom on arrival — or at minimum, a respectful staff and basic housekeeping. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
Apr 24, 2025 · andrea barrailI’m posting this review with the hope that it will help travelers and serve as constructive feedback for the business. What could have been an acceptable experience in this nicely located hotel, was ruined firstly by the dismissive and almost rude behavior of the front desk personnel upon arrival. Very little information was provided with regards to amenities and when I asked for a quiet place to have my business meetings whilst awaiting for my room to be ready, I was told to sit at the noisy front bar. Later I found out through the hotel’s website that they actually offer a small business room. Further, staff was very inattentive during check in, often disrupting the process to perform other tasks or talk to colleagues about irrelevant stuff. It did not feel like I was offered a service I payed for, rather they made me feel they were doing me a favor somehow? Secondly, the room featured a renovated bathroom, however I had to wait for almost 5 minutes for the hot water to reach the tap. Thirdly, the room’s bar furniture featured a light that was on with a switch in the form of a small button that was so well hidden behind the coffee machine that it took me almost 15 minutes to locate and turn off before I could finally go to sleep. Finally, I was very disappointed to find out that I was charged $9.80 for using the water in the room which was falsely advertised as being included in the price. Overall, I found myself wondering many times throughout my stay how on earth I could have such an unpleasant experience in a place advertised as a 4-star hotel. I would advise visitors to avoid for the immediate future until such issues with the quality of service are addressed.
Apr 26, 2025 · Christos KotanidisThe rooms are small but simple and functional. The bathrooms are modern. No many facilities, the terrace was closed, the gym is a small uninviting room. The hotel location is great next to Madison Ave.Be aware there is a $46 “destination” charge that the hotel does not disclose at check in time, per day, that you need to pay additionally to the hotel price, fees and taxes. It is unclear what this steep fee covers as you don’t have any amenities other than wifi.
Apr 07, 2025 · Arturo OliverThe hotel is in a fantastic location, and most of the staff were incredibly kind and friendly throughout my stay. Unfortunately, my experience was completely overshadowed by the manager, who was shockingly rude, unhelpful, and downright disrespectful when my reservation was unexpectedly canceled.Instead of offering assistance, the manager made the situation much more stressful than it needed to be. Thankfully, I was able to resolve the issue through Expedia, who reinstated and reimbursed the reservation — but the manager’s behavior left a lasting negative impression. It’s really unfortunate because the property itself has a lot of potential, but due to the treatment I received, I won’t be staying here again.
