Royalton Park Avenue Reviews
Turns out it's a perfect location! Front desk staff was great, pool staff was great. I loved our larger room with the king size bed. Clean ! We had a shower and separate tub. Decent water pressure. Tons of options at the room mini bar. Room service is 24hrs
May 19, 2025 · Christine AndersonI recently stayed at the Royalton Park Avenue in New York and felt compelled to share my experience, as it fell far short of what I expect from a hotel marketed as a luxury property. The check-in process was efficient, but the initial impression was underwhelming. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were engaged in their own conversation and did not acknowledge me until they had finished. When I was finally assisted, I was informed of a complimentary room upgrade. However, the upgraded room did not feel like an improvement at all. It seemed more like a move to accommodate the hotel's needs rather than to enhance my stay. When I requested to be switched back to the room I originally booked, it became clear that my reserved room was not actually available, as the staff struggled for several minutes to resolve the situation.Once in my assigned room, I found it to be generally clean but noticeably dated and in need of a deep cleaning. The bed and linens were not comfortable, falling short of five-star standards, and the towels were rough and uninviting. For a hotel in this price range, the quality was disappointing.A major reason for my stay was to host an event, and I specifically chose the venue for its fireplace, which was supposed to add a luxurious, cozy touch. Despite making it clear from the outset that this feature was essential, I was only informed at the start of my event that the fireplace could not be used due to rain the previous day. Had I known about this restriction in advance, I would have selected a different venue. This lack of transparency was frustrating, especially given the significant cost of the event.Service throughout my stay was consistently poor. Requests to the front desk and room service were met with long delays or ignored altogether, despite the hotel’s relatively modest size. On one occasion, a staff member was outright rude and hung up on me when I asked about dietary accommodations, forcing me to escalate the issue to multiple managers before it was addressed. To make matters worse, there were several issues with the elevators during my stay. On multiple occasions, the elevators were out of service, and I was forced to walk up several flights of stairs to reach my room. This was not only inconvenient, but completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to offer a luxury experience.Overall, the Royalton Park Avenue is overpriced for what it offers and does not deliver on its promise of luxury. The service is inconsistent and, at times, disrespectful; the rooms are dated and lack comfort; amenities are not always available as advertised; and basic facilities like the elevators are unreliable. As an experienced traveler who has stayed at many hotels worldwide, I would rate this property no higher than three stars and cannot recommend it to others looking for a true luxury experience.
May 07, 2025 · Erika GardnerThis is a nice hotel. What makes it special is the rooftop pool and lounge areas. Those are quite lovely. The rest of the hotel is okay. The lobby is nice but just average. It's small. There's not even a bathroom on the first floor. We did take breakfast in the ivy room. We sat in the little outside area. It's not as cute as the outside area right next to it in the lounge but you couldn't take breakfast out there. The food was good. We had coffee, orange juice, and the pastry sampler basket. We had drinks on the rooftop at night. It is classy looking and they have fancy drinks in addition to the classics. The espresso martini was excellent. We also enjoyed some wine and a few other cocktails. All were really good. The area lends itself nicely to taking photos.I do feel like the service should have been better for a hotel of this caliper. When we arrived we had to wait in a line to be checked in. The lobby is too small for that. There were three stations behind the counter for checking people in, but only one of them was being used. The most annoying thing about this hotel was the lack of ability to reach the operator. I dialed the operator several different times for different things and no one ever answered. Impossible to get room service or a taxi or ask for amenities if no one answers the phone.
May 19, 2025 · Maritza RiveraVery nice hotel, at walking distance from Times Square. Amazing rooftop pool. Rooms are very spacious. There was coffee machine in our room (Deluxe king) and we asked for a kettle and got it. Staff is kind and responsive. Our room was quiet, as looking on the courtyard and not on the street. There is a lot of nice restaurants in the proximity of this hotel. We'll return, for sure.
