Hotel Moca NYC Introduce
Hotel Moca NYC, situated at 505 W 181st St, New York, NY 10033, USA, operates as an accommodation establishment in the vibrant Washington Heights neighborhood. While typically hotels are categorized under "Lodging," for the purpose of this introduction, and given the context of a "Scenic Spot" that provides services or goods for sale, Hotel Moca NYC can be viewed as a point of interest offering short-term accommodation services within the urban landscape. It is crucial for potential guests to understand its unique operational model and specific offerings, as customer feedback indicates it may not align with conventional hotel expectations.
The environment surrounding Hotel Moca NYC is characteristic of Washington Heights, a dynamic and culturally rich area of Upper Manhattan. The neighborhood is known for its bustling streets, a strong Dominican cultural presence, and a mix of residential and commercial buildings. Hotel Moca NYC is located on a busy street, providing immediate access to local restaurants, bakeries, and bars, which offer a taste of the authentic local scene. Public transportation is readily accessible, with the 181 St. Station (St. Nicholas Av.) just a 3-minute walk away, and the 181 St. Station (Fort Washington Av.) an 8-minute walk, allowing for convenient travel to other parts of Manhattan and beyond. Nearby points of interest include the George Washington Bridge, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Yeshiva University. While the immediate environment is urban and energetic, the broader Washington Heights area also boasts proximity to green spaces like Fort Tryon Park and The Met Cloisters, offering residents and visitors opportunities for outdoor recreation and cultural exploration. However, it is important to note that the immediate vicinity of the hotel is a high-traffic area, and the hotel itself is integrated into this urban fabric, rather than being a secluded retreat.
The services provided by Hotel Moca NYC are primarily focused on short-term lodging. The hotel offers 36 air-conditioned rooms, each individually furnished and decorated. Standard amenities within the rooms typically include a 50-inch flat-screen television with digital channels, a shower in the bathroom, complimentary wireless internet access, and phones with free local calls. Housekeeping services are available upon request. The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that staff are available around the clock for guest assistance. Other on-site conveniences include an ATM and vending machines, providing immediate access to cash and refreshments. It is important to note that, as highlighted by customer reviews, the hotel operates with a strict "No Refunds" policy, which guests should be aware of before booking. Furthermore, multiple reviews indicate that the establishment functions, at least in part, as an hourly motel, which may influence the overall guest experience and the type of clientele it attracts. This operational model means that the services are geared towards facilitating quick, transactional stays rather than extended, full-service hotel experiences. While the hotel's website may showcase a rooftop terrace, customer reviews suggest that the actual amenities and room conditions might differ from advertised images. The phone number provided is (516) 924-6714, and the mobile phone number is +1 516-924-6714 for direct inquiries. Check-in typically starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 3:30 AM, with a minimum check-in age of 21, and check-out time is 11:00 AM.
The features of Hotel Moca NYC, based on available information and customer feedback, present a mixed picture. Advertised features on their website include "NYC-Mod Design" and "comfortable beds, large TVs, balconies with views, and modern baths with Rejuvenate bath amenities." Some rooms are indeed listed as having balconies. However, customer reviews frequently contradict these advertised features. For instance, reports of "cigarette burns and hair" on beds, "rickety bunch of springs," and "worst bed I've ever layed on" suggest issues with bedding quality and cleanliness. The "open layout balcony" described by a customer raises significant safety concerns, as it allows access to multiple rooms on the same level, potentially compromising privacy and security. Furthermore, guests have reported that the rooms appear "outdated" and that vents are "filled with dust and lint," directly contrasting the "clean and sleek" image presented online. The core feature of the hotel appears to be its affordability in a high-cost city, catering to those seeking a budget-friendly option, particularly for short or hourly stays. The presence of a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi are standard features for most hotels, but their quality and reliability, as per reviews, can vary. The hotel's location in Washington Heights is a notable feature, providing easy access to public transport and local cultural experiences, which might appeal to guests looking for an immersive neighborhood experience rather than a luxurious hotel stay.
Promotional information for Hotel Moca NYC, largely disseminated through online booking platforms and its own website, aims to attract guests with promises of a "vibe of The Heights" and "vogue of New York." The official website highlights a rooftop terrace as "the perfect place to gather on top of the world and take it all in," and showcases rooms with "balconies with views." These promotional images and descriptions appear to be geared towards travelers seeking a stylish yet affordable urban retreat. However, the stark contrast between promotional content and actual guest experiences, as detailed in customer reviews, suggests a significant disconnect. Promotional messaging should ideally be aligned with the actual condition and services provided to avoid customer disappointment. The current customer feedback, which frequently mentions the hotel's operation as an "hourly motel" and a "sneaky link spot," coupled with "no refunds" policies, creates a promotional challenge. For local users, a more realistic promotion might focus on its utility as a no-frills, short-stay option in a well-connected part of the Bronx, perhaps for individuals needing a temporary rest stop or a very budget-conscious overnight stay. It would be important for any promotional material to transparently address the operational nature of the establishment and manage expectations regarding amenities and room quality, to avoid the kind of negative experiences detailed by past guests. While the hotel's website attempts to project a modern and inviting image, the objective reality, as conveyed by numerous real customer reviews, suggests that potential guests should exercise caution and temper their expectations when considering Hotel Moca NYC for their accommodation needs in New York City.

Hotel Moca NYC Reviews
I thought the place was cool from the online pics. Boasted balcony pics. We had a room on the 4th floor and the bed was full of cigarette burns and hair. They then gave us a room on the 3rd floor also with a balcony. But anyone on our level can access your room through the open layout balcony. Doesn't seem safe to me. And then there's the bed. A mattress on top of a rickety bunch of spings.. worst bed I've ever layed on in any hotel/motel. I will not visit this establishment again and do not recommend it to anyone with standards. I saw a European couple checking in and I'm sure for the price they loved it bit the beds are way too noisy and uncomfortable for me
Apr 29, 2025 · SlimWarning - This is an Hourly Motel (not hotel). No Refunds!!!I would not have reserved a room here if I knew it was a sneaky link spot. The pictures advertised look NOTHING like the room. It was outdated and the vents were filled with dust and lint. One of the vents in the bathroom (not turned off) sprinkled dust onto the sink. I'm not staying the second night and was reminded there are no refunds.
Feb 16, 2025 · LaurenLau NorfleetIm sad, because I cant give zero star. It was our worst experience ever. The room was filthy, dirt was everywhere. The whole building smelled like cigarette. We didnt even sleeped for a minute. It was loud and fearsome. In the middle of the night housekeeping banged on the doors and yelled. A little bit later a random girl banged on our door, looking for someone we didnt know. We leaved as soon as possible in the morning.
Apr 25, 2025 · Daniella FarkasThis is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Please save your money. They put me in a room that had a door leading to another room, so we could hear everything the people in the other room were talking about. They screamed all night long. The elevator is missing a button. It's a real nightmare. It's not worth trying. Save your money to stay in this place.
Mar 14, 2025 · Monique LimaHotel is not as advertised. The room is old, dirty, and smelly. The balcony doesn’t open the “deluxe” room. They charge the full stay vs nightly like all other hotels. The front desk staff is not helpful and lacks knowledge about their own policies.
