Wonderful place to catch the sunset. The first time I came and found this gem alone and there was these groups of ducks walking that I caught! I brought my partner here soon after and we just loved basking in the lounge chairs. They’re very comfortable and you have a perfect view of the water from here. It’s also right near multiple waterfront restaurant and cafés. Great place to just relax, lounge, maybe bring a book to read. Very peaceful, you don’t hear all the police and ambulance sirens or cars, and everything is just beautiful here. :) - Anonymous

Locomotive Lawn Introduce

For those of us who call New York City home, finding pockets of peace and tranquility amidst the urban symphony is a cherished pursuit. While the city offers endless excitement, sometimes all we truly desire is a serene spot to unwind, breathe in fresh air, and perhaps even catch a breathtaking sunset. Located at Hudson River Greenway & W 62nd St, New York, NY 10069, USA, this unique green space offers a truly refreshing escape from the city's relentless pace.

Locomotive Lawn derives its name from its distinctive feature: the presence of an old, painted Alco locomotive right next to the bike trail. This historical nod connects the tranquil parkland to the area's industrial past, when this section of the waterfront was a bustling railyard. Today, it stands as a fascinating, static display, offering a unique landmark within the park and a point of interest for both history buffs and casual strollers. The lawn itself is much more than just a patch of grass; it's a wonderfully maintained area designed for relaxation and quiet enjoyment of the Hudson River.
