As a municipal park operated by the Township of Montclair, Mountainside Park typically doesn't offer traditional commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Its primary "offer" is public access to its extensive facilities and beautiful open spaces.
However, there are "special offers" and opportunities that benefit locals, often managed through the Montclair Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department:
- Affordable Pool Memberships/Daily Rates: While the pool requires admission, Montclair residents typically receive preferential, often reduced, rates for season passes or daily entry compared to non-residents. This makes a summer of swimming highly accessible for local families.
- Recreation Programs: The Montclair Recreation Department frequently uses Mountainside Park facilities for various sports leagues, summer camps, and recreational classes (e.g., tennis lessons, basketball clinics) for children and adults. These programs, often offered at competitive local rates, provide structured opportunities to utilize the park's amenities. Information on these programs is typically available through the Montclair Township website or Recreation Department brochures.
- Free Public Access to Courts and Open Spaces: The basketball courts, tennis courts (though some may require reservations during peak times via the town's recreation system), baseball field, playground, and open green spaces are generally available for free public use on a first-come, first-served basis, unless booked for official town programs. This free access is a significant "offer" for everyday enjoyment.
To stay informed about specific registration periods for pool passes, recreation programs, or any special events hosted at Mountainside Park, New Jersey locals should consult the official Montclair Township website, specifically the Recreation & Cultural Affairs section. This is the best resource for current information on how to take advantage of the park's offerings.

Mountainside Park is one nice facility with a lot to offer in a compact area. It has a pool, baseball field, basketball and tennis courts, and a small playground for the children. There is ample open space for free play and pets to run around in. There are also a few walking paths and benches to relax in. All told, one pleasant experience.
Apr 22, 2025 · Burt ShoobsThis is the best park I have been to in a very long time. It has tennis court, a pool, a playpen for the kids and my most favorite a basketball court. Right across the street is an iris garden. The whole area is beautiful mountain landscape. Love this place soo much 🏀🎾🏃♀️🏃♂️
May 15, 2021 · SilveracewifeyNice spot to have a picnic and it has a small tulips garden!
Jun 18, 2022 · Mau I.The Samosa Chaat was good, but I would have preferred a little less of the spicy, green chutney and a little less tamarind. The Meat Sizzler was nicely done, everything tasty and grilled to perfection. The Tikka Masala Curry was to die for! It was finger-licking good and a perfect match for their warm and tasty Naan. That was by far the winning dish!Photo of the Samosa Chaat only: Sorry.
Sep 27, 2022 · Jesabel C.Played tennis there for the first time and must say . Horrendous experience- poorly taken care of . For upper Montclair being such a nice town and I’m sure taxes aren’t affordable . Would be nice for the town to spend some money and clean and fix the courts .
