New World Hotel Introduce
When considering accommodations in New York City, it's essential for locals and visitors alike to make informed decisions based on comprehensive and transparent information. The New World Hotel, located at 101 Bowery, New York, NY, is an establishment about which prospective guests should be fully aware. This article aims to present publicly available data regarding the hotel, including its location and reported customer experiences, to assist individuals in making choices that align with their expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and service in a hotel stay.
The reviews provided for the New World Hotel paint a concerning picture. Guests have reported extremely negative experiences, citing issues such as bedbugs, pervasive uncleanliness, foul odors, stained bedding and towels, unsanitary bathrooms, and unresponsive staff. One guest described their room as "DISGUSTING!!!!" and recounted finding "a BEDBUG IN HER HAIR" and "poop stains on the mattress and pillowcases," along with "bugs. Hundreds of them. Bedbugs, cockroaches, and little black ants all over the mattress." Another review mentioned a "foul smell that seemed like a mix of mold, urine, and something rotting." Additionally, staff responsiveness and resolution of issues appear to be major concerns, with reports of staff refusing refunds and being unhelpful. These serious allegations are critical for anyone considering this location.
The New World Hotel is situated at 101 Bowery #2, New York, NY 10002, USA. This address places it in the heart of downtown Manhattan, specifically on the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side. This area is known for its vibrant cultural scene, diverse culinary offerings, historical significance, and bustling atmosphere.
In terms of accessibility, the hotel's location on Bowery provides access to several public transportation options, which is a common advantage for properties in this part of New York City. The Grand Street (B, D) subway station is typically within walking distance, offering connections to Midtown and other parts of Manhattan. The Canal Street station, a major transit hub, also provides access to the J, Z, N, Q, R, W, 4, and 6 lines, connecting to various boroughs. Numerous MTA bus lines operate along Bowery and nearby streets, providing additional transit routes. For those exploring on foot, the surrounding neighborhoods of Chinatown, the Lower East Side, and Little Italy are highly walkable, offering a rich tapestry of experiences just steps from the hotel's address. While the location itself offers potential for exploring these dynamic areas, prospective guests should carefully weigh this against other reported aspects of the hotel.
Based on the highly critical customer reviews, the services offered at New World Hotel appear to be severely lacking, particularly concerning fundamental cleanliness and guest support. While a hotel typically aims to provide a range of services, the customer feedback for this establishment suggests significant deficiencies in these areas.
- Room Cleanliness: Guests have reported extremely unsanitary conditions, including "disgusting" rooms, "large, dark stains on the sheets," "poop stains on the mattress and pillowcases," "bugs. Hundreds of them," "mold" in the shower, and "sticky" floors. This indicates a severe absence of basic housekeeping and sanitation.
- Pest Control: Multiple reports of bedbugs, cockroaches, and ants suggest a major issue with pest infestation, which is a critical health and comfort concern.
- Bathroom Hygiene: Reviews describe toilets with "stains" of "pee and feces," clogged sinks, and dirty, moldy showers, pointing to a lack of proper bathroom maintenance and cleaning.
- Staff Responsiveness and Customer Service: Guests reported that staff "REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK," were "so mean," and "couldn’t have cared less." Attempts to complain were met with being "put on hold for what felt like an eternity, only to then tell me that 'nothing could be done'." This indicates a severe lack of adequate customer service and problem resolution.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: Reviews state that the "wifi was as awful as the staffs cleaning skills," describing it as "worse than horrible" and leading to "pixled blob" video calls and distorted audio. This suggests unreliable or inadequate internet service.
- General Maintenance: Beyond cleanliness, the overall state of the rooms and facilities, as described by guests, implies significant neglect in maintenance and upkeep.
The features and highlights of New World Hotel, as described by customer reviews, unfortunately, revolve around significant negative aspects rather than positive amenities. For a hotel, key features are typically meant to enhance a stay; however, the provided feedback points to a severely compromised experience.
- Extreme Lack of Cleanliness: This is the most prominent "feature," repeatedly highlighted by guests. Descriptions include "disgusting" rooms, "nasty" conditions, "large, dark stains on the sheets," and "poop stains on the mattress and pillowcases." This indicates a fundamental failure in providing a sanitary environment.
- Pest Infestation: A critical "highlight" from reviews is the presence of "bugs. Hundreds of them. Bedbugs, cockroaches, and little black ants all over the mattress." This is a severe and unacceptable health and comfort issue.
- Unsanitary Bathrooms: The bathrooms are described as being in equally poor condition, with "pee and feces" stains on the toilet, a clogged sink, and mold in the shower, underscoring a complete disregard for hygiene.
- Poor Staff Conduct: A consistent "feature" is the reported "mean" and unresponsive staff who "refused to give money back" and told guests "nothing could be done" about severe issues. This represents a significant breakdown in customer service.
- Unreliable Wi-Fi: Guests reported "awful" and "horrible" Wi-Fi, making basic online communication extremely difficult. This is a crucial functional failure in modern accommodation.
- Location (with Caveats): While geographically located in an "okay" or vibrant area of New York City (Chinatown/Lower East Side), this positive aspect is overshadowed by the overwhelming negative experiences within the hotel itself. One guest stated, "I'd rather spend $700 going on a beach trip to the Jersey Shore, then on this garbage," suggesting that even the location cannot redeem the stay.
Based on the overwhelming and extremely negative customer reviews, it is highly unlikely that New World Hotel offers any promotions or special offers that would enhance a guest's experience or provide value. The nature of the reported issues (severe uncleanliness, pest infestations, poor staff conduct) suggests that the establishment is not focused on guest satisfaction or incentivizing stays through typical hotel promotions like discounted rates, loyalty programs, or package deals.
Instead, the "offer" here, as indicated by the reviews, appears to be a stay that guests universally describe as a "nightmare" and a "health hazard," leading to strong recommendations to "NEVER COME HERE!!!" and "Do not, under any circumstances, stay here." For prospective guests, the most critical "promotion" would be to heed these warnings and consider alternative accommodations in New York City. Any attempt to highlight typical hotel promotions would be misleading and contradict the severe factual accounts provided by past customers. The most salient "special offer" would be for the establishment to address the fundamental issues of cleanliness, pest control, and staff training to reach an acceptable standard of accommodation before considering any promotional activities.
For direct inquiries regarding the New World Hotel, the publicly listed contact information is as follows:
Address: 101 Bowery #2, New York, NY 10002, USA
Phone: (212) 226-5522
Mobile Phone: +1 212-226-5522
It is important to note that while these contact numbers are provided, customer reviews indicate significant issues with staff responsiveness and willingness to address guest concerns. One review explicitly states, "I tried to call the front desk to complain, but they put me on hold for what felt like an eternity, only to then tell me that 'nothing could be done' because they were fully booked." This suggests that reaching the hotel for effective problem resolution may be challenging. Prospective guests should be aware of these reported difficulties when attempting to use the provided contact information.
For New York locals, the New World Hotel is emphatically not suitable for any accommodation needs, whether for a staycation, hosting visitors, or as a temporary residence. The overwhelming customer reviews paint a picture of an establishment that fails to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest service. Descriptions such as "DISGUSTING!!!!" rooms, "bedbugs," "poop stains," "hundreds of bugs," "foul smell," and "unsanitary bathrooms" are severe health and safety concerns that make any stay here inadvisable.
Furthermore, reports of "mean" and unresponsive staff who "refused to give money back" and stated "nothing could be done" indicate a complete lack of accountability and customer care. While the hotel's location on Bowery might be geographically convenient for exploring Chinatown and the Lower East Side, this single positive aspect is entirely overshadowed by the egregious and consistent negative experiences reported by multiple guests. As one local-perspective review clearly articulated, "I'd rather spend $700 going on a beach trip to the Jersey Shore, then on this garbage." For any New Yorker, seeking a comfortable, clean, and safe place to stay is paramount, and based on the available public data, the New World Hotel unequivocally does not meet these fundamental criteria. It is highly recommended that locals and their guests seek alternative accommodations to ensure a positive and healthy experience in New York City.

New World Hotel Reviews
This room was DISGUSTING!!!! My and my husband and my 4 kids booked a room here for 3 nights after new years. I woke up to one of my daughters SCREAMING, cause she had a BEDBUG IN HER HAIR. The room was nasty and definitely haven't been cleaned. I spoke to the staff that same morning, THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!! NEVER COME HERE!!! Staff is so mean, rooms are disusing, location is okay. I'd rather spend $700 going on a beach trip to the Jersey Shore, then on this garbage.
Jan 13, 2025 · FrancescaMy stay at New World Hotel was a nightmare from start to finish. I don’t know how this place is still open—it’s a health hazard, plain and simple. First, the check-in process was chaotic and the staff couldn’t have cared less. They barely acknowledged me, and it took forever to get my room key. When I finally made it to the room, things went from bad to worse. The moment I stepped inside, I was hit with a foul smell that seemed like a mix of mold, urine, and something rotting. I opened the bedspread, and immediately noticed large, dark stains on the sheets that looked like they hadn’t been washed in months. As I pulled back the covers, I couldn’t believe my eyes—there were actual **poop stains** on the mattress and pillowcases. But it didn’t stop there. I pulled out the blanket and saw movement—**bugs**. Hundreds of them. Bedbugs, cockroaches, and little black ants all over the mattress. I even found some crawling on the walls and the headboard. I nearly vomited. The bathroom was no better. The toilet had stains on it -**pee and feces**—and the seat hadn’t been cleaned in what looked like ages. The sink was clogged, and the water barely drained. The shower was covered in mold, and the floor was sticky with some sort of residue I couldn’t even identify. The towels were stained with what I can only assume was... god knows what. The wifi was as awful as the staffs cleaning skills. And I can assure you that it is worse than horrible. I wanted to FaceTime my mom, but I ended out facetiming a pixled blob not even in the shape of a human. Not to mention how horribly I heard her. I thought she said at one point "so then i bought mrbeast a new fog machine at urmom.com." Truly awful.I tried to call the front desk to complain, but they put me on hold for what felt like an eternity, only to then tell me that "nothing could be done" because they were fully booked. I don’t know how this place is still operating. I honestly wouldn’t stay here even if they paid me. The sheer filth, the bugs, the stains, the disgusting staff—New World Hotel is an absolute nightmare. Do not, under any circumstances, stay here. It’s a health hazard, and it ruined my entire trip.
Feb 03, 2025 · Whydoyou WanttoknowthisThis is a review from 2018. Not sure if this hotel has changed for the better but keep that in mind before reading further. Room barely cleaned. Sheets weren't clean and there was only a top sheet on the bed no comforter. Bathroom small. Hair in sink. No supplies /towels tp soap ect/ no elevator. We were on the 9th floor. Entire hotel stunk and was dirty and cramped. Would not recommend. We were there for 30 minutes and most of our time was spent checking in and going up the stairs and back down. Sorry for the late review but this hotel /even after 6 years/ will always go down as the second worst hotel I ever went to.
Dec 21, 2024 · Alexis AndersonDONT COME HERE!!! The rooms smell like smoke and there is no ac. For each floor you have to share two bathrooms . There was HAIR in the shower causing it to get clogged but the rooms were worse it was so small the pillows and sheets had PEE STAINS and BEDBUGS . Honestly you’re better off going to some other hotel then wasting your money on this hotel
Nov 23, 2024 · Vibha SistaThe location was in a BALRIGHT place and service was alright. The food nearby was meh. My wife said there was pee and poop still in the toilet when we got there and there was poop stains on the walls. I don’t think that I come back here.
