The U.S. Pacific Hotel boasts an exceptionally advantageous location at 106 Bowery, New York, NY 10013, USA. This address places it directly in the vibrant heart of Chinatown, a culturally rich and historically significant neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. The Bowery itself is a street steeped in history, connecting different facets of the Lower East Side, and being at 106 Bowery means guests are perfectly positioned to dive into the authentic sights, sounds, and flavors of this iconic community. Just a short walk away, the charming streets of Little Italy offer a delightful contrast, while the trendy boutiques, art galleries, and vibrant nightlife of the Lower East Side are also easily accessible.
The accessibility of the U.S. Pacific Hotel is one of its strongest selling points, making it remarkably convenient for New Yorkers and visitors alike to reach from anywhere in the city and from which to explore. It benefits from excellent proximity to multiple subway lines:
- Grand Street Station: Located very close by, this station provides access to the B and D subway lines, offering direct routes to Midtown, including Herald Square and Columbus Circle, as well as parts of Brooklyn.
- Bowery Station: Also within easy walking distance, this station serves the J and Z lines, connecting guests to areas like the Financial District, Williamsburg in Brooklyn, and JFK Airport (with transfers).
- Canal Street Station: A slightly longer but still comfortable walk leads to the major Canal Street subway hub, which provides access to the N, Q, R, W, J, Z, and 6 trains. This extensive network ensures unparalleled connectivity to virtually every major destination in Manhattan, as well as easy access to Brooklyn and Queens.
In addition to the subway system, numerous MTA bus lines operate along Bowery and other nearby avenues, providing alternative options for local travel. The hotel's location also makes it highly walkable; guests can easily stroll to iconic landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and the many attractions of SoHo and Greenwich Village. This exceptional public transport access and walkability truly position the U.S. Pacific Hotel as an ideal and convenient base for exploring all that New York City has to offer.
The U.S. Pacific Hotel operates on a streamlined service model designed to provide essential comforts at an affordable price, rather than extensive luxury amenities. Based on customer reviews, the services offered are practical and geared towards the budget-conscious traveler prioritizing location and basic needs.
- 24-Hour Front Desk: The hotel provides a 24-hour reception service, ensuring guests can check in or receive assistance at any time, which is convenient for varying arrival and departure schedules.
- Choice of Private or Shared Bathrooms: Guests have the option to book rooms with either a private (en-suite) bathroom or access to shared communal bathrooms down the hall. This flexibility allows for further cost savings for those comfortable with shared facilities.
- Basic Room Amenities: Rooms are equipped with essential comforts. For those with private bathrooms, these rooms typically include a hairdryer, towels, shampoo, and conditioner. All rooms provide a fundamental sleeping space.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: While not explicitly mentioned in reviews, most modern hotels, even budget-friendly ones, offer complimentary wireless internet access in rooms and common areas, which is a standard expectation.
- Luggage Storage: The hotel staff is noted for being accommodating with early arrivals, often allowing guests to leave their luggage in a corner or designated area before check-in, which is a highly valued service for travelers.
- Air Conditioning/Heating: Rooms are generally equipped with climate control, ensuring a comfortable temperature regardless of the season.
- Daily Housekeeping: Basic housekeeping services are typically provided to maintain cleanliness during your stay.
- Multilingual Staff: In a diverse neighborhood like Chinatown, it's common for hotel staff to be multilingual, which can be a great asset for international and local guests.
It's important for guests to note that a fridge or TV may not be standard in all rooms, and while some rooms have windows, views may be limited. The focus is on providing a clean, safe, and affordable sleeping space.
The U.S. Pacific Hotel distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that make it a notable option for visitors to New York City, particularly those with an eye on their budget and a desire for an authentic downtown experience.
- Exceptional Value for Location: This is arguably the hotel's most significant highlight. Being able to secure a room in the highly desirable and culturally rich Chinatown neighborhood at such an affordable price point is a standout feature in the expensive Manhattan hotel market.
- Prime Downtown Manhattan Position: The hotel's address on Bowery places guests within immediate walking distance of three distinct and vibrant neighborhoods: Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Lower East Side. This offers an incredible diversity of dining, shopping, and cultural exploration right at your doorstep.
- Unbeatable Subway Accessibility: The U.S. Pacific Hotel benefits from being incredibly close to multiple major subway lines (B, D, J, Z, N, Q, R, W, 6 via nearby stations). This makes navigating New York City simple and efficient, allowing guests to maximize their time exploring the city rather than commuting.
- Option for Private Bathrooms: While some budget hotels only offer shared facilities, the U.S. Pacific Hotel provides the option for rooms with private bathrooms, which is a significant highlight for guests preferring more comfort and privacy.
- Helpful and Accommodating Staff: As noted in customer reviews, the hotel staff frequently receives praise for being extremely helpful and accommodating, whether it's assisting with luggage storage or addressing reservation changes. This level of service enhances the overall guest experience, especially in a budget-friendly setting.
- Cleanliness: Despite its basic nature, guests often commend the cleanliness of both the rooms (especially those with private bathrooms) and the common areas, which is a crucial factor for any accommodation.
- Proximity to Major Landmarks: The hotel's location offers easy walking access to iconic New York City landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, providing fantastic opportunities for sightseeing and photography.
These features collectively underscore the U.S. Pacific Hotel's appeal as a practical, affordable, and strategically located choice for those seeking to experience the heart of New York City.
As a hotel operating on a highly budget-conscious model with a focus on providing affordable rates in a prime Manhattan location, the U.S. Pacific Hotel does not typically advertise traditional "promotions or special offers" in the way a full-service hotel might. Its core offering is already its competitive pricing.
Therefore, for New Yorkers or visitors seeking special deals, the "promotion" inherently lies in the hotel's everyday low prices for its downtown Manhattan address. There are no widely publicized seasonal discounts, package deals, or loyalty programs directly offered by the U.S. Pacific Hotel.
However, guests can often find the best available rates by:
- Checking Various Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Websites like Booking.com, Expedia, and others often list the most current pricing. It's advisable to compare rates across different platforms to ensure you're getting the best deal available for your desired dates.
- Booking in Advance: While not a formal promotion, securing your reservation further in advance can sometimes yield slightly better rates, especially during peak seasons in New York City.
- Flexibility with Room Type: Choosing a room with a shared bathroom over a private one is a built-in "promotion" in terms of cost savings, offering an even more economical stay.
Ultimately, the U.S. Pacific Hotel's value proposition is its consistent offering of a very basic room at a price point that is hard to match in the Lower Manhattan area. For the absolute best available rate, it is always recommended to compare prices online and potentially call the hotel directly for any last-minute availability.

The U.S. Pacific Hotel, despite its basic amenities, is remarkably suitable for locals in New York City for a variety of specific reasons. Its primary appeal for New Yorkers stems from its exceptional affordability combined with an unbeatable downtown Manhattan location.
For locals seeking a budget-friendly "staycation," the U.S. Pacific Hotel offers a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy of Chinatown and Little Italy without breaking the bank. Furthermore, the hotel is an excellent solution for locals when hosting visiting friends or family who are traveling on a strict budget. Rather than incurring the high costs of conventional hotels, the U.S. Pacific Hotel provides a clean, safe, and incredibly well-located place for guests to sleep. Its proximity to multiple subway lines makes it exceptionally easy for visitors to navigate New York City independently, reducing the burden on their local hosts. The option of private bathrooms, while basic, also provides a welcome level of comfort for those accustomed to it.
For individuals needing temporary accommodation in the city, whether for personal reasons, short-term work, or transitioning between apartments, the U.S. Pacific Hotel presents a viable and cost-effective option. It prioritizes providing a bed in a prime location, serving those for whom convenience and price are the absolute top priorities. While guests should manage their expectations regarding luxury or extensive services, the consistent positive feedback about the staff's helpfulness adds a significant layer of suitability, ensuring a smooth and practical experience. For New Yorkers who value location and affordability above all else, the U.S. Pacific Hotel is a sensible and highly practical choice.

U.S. Pacific Hotel Reviews
Stay in a great part of Chinatown for an amazing price. Rooms are basic and not sound proof so bring ear plugs and appropriate expectations. Worth paying for separate bath although I found Booking.com tricky and I didn't get what I thought I requested. That said, the staff were extremely helpful in changing my reservation and I will definitely return. Near bus stop to come into town and can walk to everything.
May 21, 2025 · Sarah KanchugerYou get what you pay for with this hotel. The rooms are basic—ours didn’t have a TV or fridge. We didn’t expect it, but I’m mentioning it for anyone curious.I was hesitant to book this place because of the mixed reviews, but it turned out better than expected. We got a room with a private bathroom, and both the room and bathroom were clean. They provided essentials like a hairdryer, towels, shampoo, and conditioner. The room had windows, but there wasn’t much of a view.A downside is that you can hear noise from other rooms if your neighbors are loud. This place is perfect if you have a busy day planned and just need a place to sleep. The entrance has a large staircase, so if you have heavy luggage, you’ll need to carry it up.We arrived early, before check-in time, and the staff was kind enough to let us leave our luggage in a corner while we explored the area. The location is excellent—close to Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Brooklyn Bridge. For the price, it’s a good budget option with no major complaints.
Feb 25, 2025 · Sonalee ChandraratneI was dying to review this place because please take what I say so honestly. The room itself is clean. I paid £260ish for a 2 night stay, no window. If you plan to explore and are content with full days, little time in room this is perfect. It’s hot so winter kept me warm. However if you’re looking here thinking yeah, 6 days is the plan, just don’t do it. No one can be so active in the morning till night everyday in 6 days. This hotel is ONLY good for short stays and if you’re spending time exploring. It’s cheap and clean. But you pay for the bare minimum. I asked for hot water and they said no as I needed my own cup and I didn’t have one. But am I rating this place a 2 because of it ? No! Understand what YOU want from a hotel in NYC and let that govern your choice . If space, comfort and windows is what you need, this is not the place for you. ( actually also the beds were super comfy, slept like a log, but I also was a little tipsy ). Location couldn’t be better. That’s why I picked this. Close to food, Times Square, a bunch of other tourist things. I saw a lot because of the location
Dec 12, 2024 · Nicol LangeThis place is amazing value you. It's a clean room, with a large bed, and showers to use. The location is amazingggg. Close to the station and some of the best food in NYC. Highly recommend for the price.
Apr 30, 2025 · BrodyIt was a box (without windows) but they had towels, a clean bed, 24hour door service, a great shower, it was easily the most affordable hotel in manhattan and for someone $114 a night this was perfect.
