The River Memorial Garden is situated at 15 Veterans Place, Castle Point, NY 12511, USA. Its distinctive location is within the expansive campus of the VA Castle Point Medical Center. This means that access to the park is intrinsically linked to the VA facility, and visitors should be aware of this unique characteristic.
For individuals traveling by car, the Castle Point VA Medical Center campus is readily accessible from major routes in the Hudson Valley. Drivers can typically reach the area via Route 9D, which runs along the Hudson River, or connect from larger highways like Interstate 84. Once on the VA campus, directional signage for various departments and facilities will guide visitors. While the exact path to the River Memorial Garden within the campus may require a short navigation, it is generally considered easily discoverable once you're on the grounds.
It is important to note, as indicated by a previous visitor, that public access to the VA campus might have specific protocols or security considerations. While the park is described as "awesome little park," the general public access to VA facilities typically prioritizes veterans, their families, and staff for healthcare services. However, memorial gardens are often designed to be accessible to the public as places of honor and reflection. It is advisable for prospective visitors who are not patients or staff to confirm public access policies for the memorial garden specifically by contacting the VA Castle Point Medical Center directly beforehand, especially if they have any concerns about entry or parking.
Parking is generally available on the VA campus. Visitors to the memorial garden would likely utilize the existing parking facilities for the medical center. The park itself features several benches, making it accessible for those who wish to sit and relax, and the overall design encourages a leisurely, stroll-through experience. The tranquil setting and readily available seating contribute to its accessibility for visitors of various mobility levels who can navigate the campus.

River Memorial Garden Reviews
This is truly and awesome little park. It is on the VA Castle Point campus, so you must have access to the VA. Several park benches around to sit and relax. Sadly, you can no longer smoke on VA campuses, as I used to smoke cigars here. Plaques and monuments surround the park with very interesting historical and Memorial markers. Free mounted binocular devices to look at and across the Hudson River.
