Rodeway Inn

1755 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11212, USA

3.0
I have found joy in staying at this affordable hotel. They just opened last Wednesday, so everything is basically brand new—even in some rooms the remote is still wrapped in the plastic. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets were cleaned and smelled good. I have only met two people at the front desk, but they were very accommodating to my stay here. However, I can say that the location of this hotel is in the ghetto, but don’t let that scare you lol. The hotel do have security cameras and locks on all rooms doors. I will be coming back and hopefully the hotel stays in this excellent condition. - Gradarin Hosch

Rodeway Inn Introduce

Prospective visitors and local users seeking accommodations in Brooklyn should be aware of significant and conflicting information regarding the property formerly known as Rodeway Inn, located at 1755 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11212, USA. While the platform category is "Scenic Spot" and typically implies services or goods for sale related to tourism, the current operational status of this specific establishment, based on recent public reviews, raises serious concerns about its availability as a hotel.

The environment of the property, when it was operating as a hotel, was described by one recent guest as being essentially brand new shortly after its opening. This individual noted that even remote controls were still wrapped in plastic in some rooms, indicating a fresh and clean initial condition. The beds were reported to be very comfortable, and the sheets were clean and smelled good, suggesting a focus on basic comfort and hygiene during its brief period as a hotel. The reviewer also mentioned security cameras and locks on all room doors, indicating a commitment to guest safety, particularly in a location acknowledged by the reviewer as potentially challenging. However, this positive description of the hotel environment is starkly contrasted by a subsequent and critical review that dramatically alters the understanding of the property's current function.

Regarding services, the initial positive review indicated accommodating front desk staff who were attentive to guest concerns, which would typically suggest a basic level of hospitality services. If it were still operating as a hotel, one would expect standard amenities such as check-in/check-out services, potentially a continental breakfast (common for Rodeway Inn properties, though not explicitly stated in the reviews), and basic room services. However, the more recent and concerning review explicitly states that upon arrival, guests were informed that the hotel is "no longer a hotel, and is now a men's shelter." This fundamentally changes the nature of the services offered. If this information is accurate, the property no longer provides traditional hotel accommodation services for paying guests. This transition has led to significant issues for individuals who had pre-booked rooms, facing unexpected cancellations and difficulties in obtaining refunds, as detailed in the negative review. The lack of prior notification (e.g., email cancellations) and the inability to contact the property for a refund after this change indicate a complete cessation of typical hotel-guest services and a breakdown in communication regarding its operational status. Therefore, any discussion of "services" as a hotel would be misleading based on the most recent information.

The features of the property, based on the period it operated as a hotel, included brand new facilities and comfortable beds with clean sheets, as highlighted by one guest. Security cameras and secure room locks were also noted as features aimed at ensuring guest safety and peace of mind. As a Rodeway Inn, a brand under Choice Hotels, it would typically adhere to certain basic standards for economy lodging, which might include complimentary Wi-Fi, television, and perhaps a small desk or seating area in the rooms. However, the most critical "feature" now is its reported transformation into a men's shelter. This means that the previous features associated with a hotel (e.g., rooms available for booking by the general public, typical hotel amenities) are no longer applicable. The property's current primary function is to provide shelter, which is a vital social service, but one that is entirely distinct from commercial hotel operations. Therefore, the "features" of the Rodeway Inn as a hotel are now obsolete, replaced by those of a shelter facility, which serves a different demographic and purpose.

From a promotional standpoint, it is paramount to issue a strong cautionary note to local users and potential visitors about the current status of this property. Any promotional information that implies the Rodeway Inn at 1755 Pitkin Ave is still operating as a hotel accepting reservations for the general public would be inaccurate and potentially harmful, leading to booking issues and disappointment. The information available through customer reviews strongly suggests that the property has undergone a significant operational change. While one past reviewer expressed satisfaction and a desire to return when it was a newly opened hotel, this sentiment is directly contradicted by the later account of the property functioning as a men's shelter. Therefore, no promotional information for hotel stays can be objectively provided. Instead, the focus must be on informing the public about the reported change. Prospective travelers should be advised to exercise extreme caution and verify the current operational status directly with the property or through official channels before attempting to book or visit this address for accommodation purposes. Any previous affiliations with booking platforms for hotel stays may no longer be valid or honored. The most responsible promotional message in this instance is to clearly communicate the reported cessation of hotel operations to prevent further inconvenience or financial loss for potential guests. Given the conflicting nature of the reviews regarding its status and the very serious implications of a property changing from a hotel to a shelter without proper communication, it is crucial to prioritize objective information and warnings over any traditional promotional content for a hotel in this case. The contact numbers provided ((347) 425-9852 and +1 347-425-9852) may no longer be relevant for hotel inquiries but could potentially connect to the shelter's operations or an associated administrative entity. Users should be advised to manage their expectations accordingly.
