The Herald by LuxUrban Reviews
Had a pleasant experience in this hotel. It is at a prime location and very easily accessible. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. They store our bags for a small charge after checkout. It has a lounge to use and it was very useful when we came back to collect the bags. Overall definitely will suggest a stay here.Saw a couple of complaints regarding late return of security deposit. But I received it within 2 days.
May 31, 2025 · Mohammed JavidThe hotel location is great - the subway is just by the entrance. Penn station and Macy's nearby. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around. The room was clean and was cleaned daily. There is no WiFi in the hotel rooms. The description of the offer was straight a lie. It's very hard to find the hotel itself - there is no sign outside on the street. The shower is just terrible - you can't turn it on without making yourself fully wet with cold water. No shampoo and very cheap soap.
May 17, 2025 · Hryhorii HoherchakThis was our first time at this hotel. We arrived at around 2am and check in was easy and fast. The room was clean but I do have to say that I think a lot of the furniture/fixtures need to be replaced, they have a lot of wear and tear. The location was absolutely perfect, everything was walking distance. Times square was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The cleaning ladies were extremely nice and left us clean towels when we asked. I would want to try a different hotel before I come back here but this place is not horrible. Price was decent for the location. I did receive my deposit back after checking out. There wasn’t really any issues to be totally honest, I would recommend if you’re looking for somewhere cheap to stay near times square.
Mar 22, 2025 · Max HernandezI have traveled the world and this is the WORST hotel I have stayed in. No towels, no soap, no shampoo, no WiFi. The staff just shrugged their shoulders saying they don’t have any of these necessities. There is a cannabis dispensary right across the street. About to 1000 people were partying there loudly until late the first night I arrived. Building looked like it was on fire there was so much weed smoke billowing out of it. The whole block smells accordingly.I paid over $400 per night. No refund. Had to buy my own supplies so I could take a shower. Avoid this hotel unless you are looking for a camping experience in Herald Square.
May 21, 2025 · Mark ChrystalWe arrived early and appreciated being able to leave our luggage at the hotel until check-in at 3 PM. However, once we got our room keys, things started to disappoint. One of our rooms was missing an extra towel, the toilet hadn’t been fully cleaned, and there was no shampoo or conditioner available. When I asked about it at the front desk, I was told the shipment hadn’t arrived but the response lacked any real sympathy or sense of hospitality. The condition of the room itself was below expectations. There was a visible hole by the front door, the shower curtain was positioned too high up the length was short made showering uncomfortable, and overall the space felt worn down. Even the couches in the guest lounge were falling apart, which added to the sense that upkeep isn’t a priority at this property. What helped redeem the stay was a kind housekeeper named Michelle, who went out of her way to find us a bottle of shampoo. She apologized sincerely and made the effort to make things right. That small act meant a lot. While the hotel’s location is undeniably convenient, the overall experience did not match the price we paid for two rooms. I’m giving this hotel 2 stars—one for the location, and one for Michelle’s kindness.
