Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square Introduce
New York City, a dazzling metropolis that never sleeps, beckons with its iconic landmarks, world-class entertainment, and endless opportunities. For locals planning a Midtown staycation or welcoming out-of-town guests, finding the right hotel that balances convenience, comfort, and value is key. The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square aims to deliver just that, offering a strategic location that places you at the heart of the action while striving to provide the signature amenities that Embassy Suites guests often seek, such as complimentary breakfast and an evening reception.
Situated in the vibrant Midtown area, this hotel is positioned to be an ideal launchpad for exploring the city. Its promise of a prime location, coupled with the brand's well-known offerings, positions it as a practical choice for those navigating the exciting, yet sometimes overwhelming, energy of New York. While individual experiences can vary, the core appeal of the Embassy Suites Times Square lies in its potential to offer a comfortable base, surprising quietude amidst the urban hum, and the added value that free breakfast and an evening reception can provide, allowing guests to maximize their time and budget in one of the world's most exciting cities.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square boasts an "amazing location" at 60 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018, USA. This places it strategically in Midtown Manhattan, offering a highly desirable blend of proximity to major attractions and a slightly removed, quieter atmosphere.
Its placement provides excellent accessibility for both navigating the city and enjoying the immediate neighborhood:
Proximity to Times Square: The hotel is described as "a quick walk to Times Square, but not IN Times Square." This is a significant advantage, allowing guests to easily reach one of NYC's most famous landmarks for shows, dining, and sightseeing, while still benefiting from "the sidewalks and area right by the hotel are not too noisy/busy." This balance between vibrant access and relative calm is a major draw.
Subway Access: The hotel's Midtown location ensures superb access to New York City's extensive subway system. Numerous subway lines are within a few blocks' walk, making it "so easy to get where we want to be" across Manhattan and connecting to other boroughs. Key nearby subway stations would include:
34th Street-Herald Square (B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W lines): A major hub just a short walk away, offering connections across the city.
Times Square-42nd Street (1, 2, 3, A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, S lines): Also easily accessible, providing a vast array of options.
Grand Central Terminal (4, 5, 6, 7, S lines): Within walking distance or a very short subway ride for connections to the East Side and Long Island Rail Road.
Walkable Attractions: Beyond Times Square, the hotel's location is ideal for exploring other Midtown attractions on foot. This includes the Empire State Building, Bryant Park, Madison Square Garden, Macy's Herald Square, and numerous dining and shopping options.
Penn Station and Port Authority: Both major transportation hubs for regional and national travel (trains and buses) are within reasonable walking distance or a very short subway ride, making arrivals and departures convenient.
Restaurant and Retail: The immediate area around W 37th Street is a vibrant commercial district, meaning "plenty of restaurants" and shops are readily available for guests' convenience.
This exceptional location is truly one of the strongest selling points for the Embassy Suites Times Square, enabling guests to effortlessly navigate and enjoy the best of Midtown Manhattan.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square aims to provide a comfortable and value-driven stay by offering a suite of services characteristic of the Embassy Suites brand. These services are designed to enhance convenience and provide added benefits to guests.
Complimentary Hot Breakfast: A key amenity and a significant "service" offered is the free breakfast. Guests typically expect a selection of items, including "waffles, bagels, eggs and cereals, milk, coffee and fruits." While one review mentioned it as "nothing spectacular but good," the value of a complimentary hot breakfast in a high-cost city like New York is undeniable, saving guests time and money on their morning meal.
Evening Reception: Embassy Suites traditionally offers a complimentary evening reception, often including snacks and beverages. While one guest found the "reception bartender was sooooo slow" and the space "so small to get around tables and lines," the concept of a free evening reception still represents a significant value-add for many travelers, providing a social hour and light refreshments.
On-site Gym: The presence of "a small gym at the basement" provides guests with the convenience of maintaining their fitness routine while traveling, a valuable amenity for active visitors.
Housekeeping Services: Guests noted "housekeeping was great," indicating a commitment to cleanliness and tidiness in the rooms, though one mentioned rooms being cleaned "until 17:30," suggesting a potentially later service time for some rooms.
Maintenance Response: A "minor maintenance issue in the bathroom that was resolved the next day while we were out (per our request)" demonstrates responsive maintenance service, addressing guest concerns efficiently.
Concierge/Front Desk Assistance: While not detailed, the "Great service" mentioned by one guest suggests a helpful and attentive reception staff, capable of assisting with check-in, check-out, and general guest inquiries.
Luggage Storage: Although not explicitly stated, many hotels of this caliber in NYC, especially those catering to travelers, offer luggage storage services for guests before check-in or after check-out, allowing them to explore the city unencumbered.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square presents several key features and highlights that shape the guest experience, appealing to those seeking a strategic and value-driven stay in Midtown.
Exceptional Midtown Location: The primary highlight is undoubtedly its "amazing location." Situated just a "quick walk to Times Square, but not IN Times Square," it offers the best of both worlds: immediate access to major attractions without the overwhelming noise and crowds right at the hotel's doorstep. This balance is highly sought after by many NYC visitors.
Quiet Rooms (Despite Location): A surprising and significant highlight for a Midtown hotel is the "Quiet room" noted by one guest. In a city where noise is often a concern, the ability to find a peaceful sanctuary for sleep is a considerable advantage, eliminating the anticipated need for "ear plugs."
Reliable Water Pressure and Temperature: A seemingly minor detail, but crucial for guest comfort, is the "great water pressure and temp" in the bathrooms. This ensures a satisfying shower experience, which is often a point of complaint in older city hotels.
Complimentary Breakfast and Evening Reception: The inclusion of a free hot breakfast and an evening reception are hallmark Embassy Suites features. While specific execution might vary (e.g., breakfast quality, reception speed), these complimentary offerings add significant value, saving guests money and time on meals and providing a social outlet.
Suite-Style Accommodations (Generally): While one guest noted a "small room" for NYC standards, Embassy Suites are typically designed with separate living and sleeping areas, offering more space than traditional hotel rooms. Even if compact for NYC, this suite layout often includes a pullout couch, providing flexibility for families or groups, despite the potential for limited floor space when open.
Good Service and Maintenance: The "Great service" from housekeeping and the prompt resolution of a "minor maintenance issue" demonstrate a commitment to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square, as part of the extensive Hilton portfolio, regularly participates in various promotions and special offers designed to attract a wide range of travelers. While specific deals fluctuate based on seasonality, demand, and brand-wide campaigns, locals and visitors planning a stay can typically look forward to several types of "special offers":
Hilton Honors Member Rates: The most consistent "promotion" is access to exclusive discounted rates for Hilton Honors loyalty program members. Joining Hilton Honors is free, and members also earn points on their stays, which can be redeemed for free nights, experiences, or other perks. Members often receive benefits like digital check-in and choice of room.
Advance Purchase Discounts: Booking your stay well in advance often qualifies you for a lower "advance purchase" rate. These rates are typically non-refundable but offer significant savings for those with firm travel plans.
Weekend Getaway Specials: Hotels in business-heavy areas like Midtown often offer special weekend packages or reduced rates for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights to attract leisure travelers when corporate demand is lower. These might include additional benefits or a percentage off the standard rate.
Seasonal Sales and Promotions: Throughout the year, Hilton runs various system-wide sales (e.g., "Summer Sale," "Winter Sale," "Flash Sales") that include Embassy Suites properties. These promotions can offer substantial discounts on room rates for specific booking and stay periods.
AAA/AARP Member Discounts: For members of AAA (American Automobile Association) or AARP (American Association of Retired Persons), consistent discounted rates are usually available, providing a reliable way to save on accommodation.
Family Packages: Given the suite-style rooms, Embassy Suites might offer specific family-oriented packages that could include perks beyond the standard complimentary breakfast, though details would vary by specific promotion.
Flexible Booking Options: While not a discount, many hotels now offer flexible booking rates that allow for free cancellations up to a certain point before check-in. This is a valuable "offer" for peace of mind, especially when plans might change.

While hotels are typically thought of as places for out-of-town guests, the Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square holds significant appeal and suitability for New York City locals as well. Whether it's for a "staycation," accommodating visiting family or friends, or serving as a convenient base for specific local needs, this hotel offers compelling reasons for New Yorkers to consider it.
Firstly, its strategic "amazing location" in Midtown is a huge draw. For locals living in other boroughs or parts of Manhattan, a stay here offers a fresh perspective on the city's vibrant core. It's an opportunity to experience the energy of Times Square, see a Broadway show, or visit iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building and Bryant Park, all within "a quick walk," without the hassle of a long commute back home. The fact that it's "not IN Times Square" also means locals can enjoy the excitement without being overwhelmed by the constant crowds right outside their door, ensuring a more peaceful and "Quiet room" experience.
Secondly, the value proposition of the Embassy Suites brand is particularly appealing to locals. The "free breakfast" and "evening reception" are significant cost-savers in a city where dining out can be expensive. For New Yorkers hosting guests, recommending this hotel means their visitors get a comfortable stay with essential amenities covered, making their trip more affordable and enjoyable. This added value makes it a smart choice for a local staycation, allowing residents to enjoy a mini-getaway without feeling the pinch of extra food costs.
Furthermore, services like "early check-in" and potentially luggage storage (common in Hilton properties) are incredibly practical for locals. If you're attending a special event, a Broadway matinee, or have a busy day planned in Midtown, being able to check in early or leave your bags securely after checkout allows for maximum flexibility and enjoyment of your time. The "great water pressure and temp" in the bathrooms, though seemingly minor, contributes to a more comfortable and refreshing stay.
Finally, the "Great service" and responsiveness to maintenance issues ensure a smooth and worry-free experience. For locals who might be using the hotel for a special occasion or to facilitate a business trip, reliability and good service are paramount. The Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square, with its strategic location, value-added services, and commitment to comfort, truly stands out as a highly suitable and attractive option for any New Yorker looking for an excellent stay in the heart of Midtown.

Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square Reviews
We chose Embassy Suites based on location and we generally stay at Embassy Suites while traveling because of the free breakfast and happy hour and the usually larger rooms. Now that our trip is over, here is our honest review:Pros - Amazing location! A quick walk to Times Square, but not IN Times Square - so the sidewalks and area right by the hotel are not too noisy/busy. It’s so easy to get where we want to be.- Quiet room: I was anticipating needing ear plugs but that was not the case- Great service : housekeeping was great and we had a minor maintenance issue in the bathroom that was resolved the next day while we were out (per our request).- great water pressure and tempCons - very uncomfortable bed and pillows.- small room - which we expected being NYC, but with the pullout couch open, there was literally nowhere to be but on the beds. There were two closets in our room, but I wish one of them had drawers to unpack into.- we only did the breakfast and evening reception one time each. The space is so small to get around tables and lines. The omelet was the worst I’ve had from ES ever. The reception bartender was sooooo slow which is miserable with 20 people in line.If we come back to NYC, we would not stay here again. We’d likely try another hotel within 2 blocks of here though bc the location really is amazing.
Apr 02, 2025 · Nicole WhaleyIn a 4-star hotel, there is no water in the room, fan, wardrobe, low ceilings, worn-out room equipment. Periodically, one elevator works in a 40-story building. The room is cleaned until 17:30. Breakfast does not contain meat, there is nowhere to sit, there are many people, and few seats. The price at the reception upon arrival suddenly increases - new additional payments appear. I strongly advise against it!
Apr 29, 2025 · Вазген МартI've never written a bad hotel review while I was still staying in it but, here we go. At the minimum, a hotel should provide a hot shower, safety, and a comfortable bed. This one provides none of the above. My husband and I have been here 5 nights and every day the showers have been luke warm. I shower between 2-5 am and he showers between 8-10 am. It's cool water both times of day. We called and let the office know and maintenance came but we were never notified that anything was done. Water remained cool. Today, right now, I just had the coldest shower of my life. It wasn't even luke warm, it was straight up freezing cold. Unbelievable. It's 5 am.Additionally, when maintenance or house keeping came they left our hotel room door open. To our horror, we came back to our room to see the door ajar. Thankfully nothing was stolen but my god! We have camera equipment and laptops in here that do not fit in the tiny safe. Those things are our business and our lively hood. We let them know and we got a little apology and some extra room coffees. Wow, thanks for absolutely nothing. Also, the bed is rock hard and the pillows are paper thin. We haven't slept a good night this whole time. And finally, it's 5 am and as I write this review, our room reeks of pot smoke. It's not us smoking, that's for sure. This has been such a crazy unpleasant stay. There are so many hotels at this price point in Manhattan, stay at one of them instead.
Jun 02, 2025 · Julie AnnThis hotel has seen its best days in the past. However, the location is great for a New York visit as everything is walking distance from here and if your feet get tired, the subway is right there. Rooms are small and don't really have space for your luggage. You are also well-advised to be humble regarding your expectations of cleanliness. The breakfast and afternoon reception might be interesting for low budget travelers, but don't expect too much of it. Some of the stuff is very friendly and customer oriented, others not so much. I suppose that's the case pretty much everywhere nowadays. The value for money is decent due to its location.
Mar 06, 2025 · Thomas HarmeyerMy husband and I were staying at the Embassy hotel this month and loved our stay. We have nothing to complain about, we didn't have any problems with the elevators, we didn't have any fire alarms and much less chaos during breakfast. Our room was super clean every day, impeccable towels and sheets!I would like to thank the entire hotel team, especially Kevin and Mauricio!Everything was very special!!!
