Nestled in the heart of Nolita, The Nolitan isn't just another place to lay your head; it’s an experience. It’s designed to reflect the trendy, artistic, and dynamic spirit of its surroundings, offering a more intimate and personalized alternative to the large chain hotels. If you appreciate stylish design, a lively atmosphere, and being steps away from some of the city's best dining, shopping, and cultural hotspots, then The Nolitan deserves your attention.
This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of The Nolitan, from its prime location and accessibility to the services and features that make it stand out. Whether you’re planning a local getaway or suggesting a stay to out-of-town guests, understanding what The Nolitan offers can help you make an informed decision and truly appreciate its unique appeal. We’ll delve into the specifics, highlighting what makes this hotel a compelling choice for anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic New York City life.
The Nolitan boasts an enviable address at 30 Kenmare Street, New York, NY 10012, USA. This places it squarely in Nolita, an acronym for "North of Little Italy," a neighborhood renowned for its charming streets, independent boutiques, art galleries, and an exceptional culinary scene. For locals, this means you’re right in the thick of things, whether you're heading out for a night on the town or simply exploring a different part of your city.
The hotel's location offers incredible accessibility, a key consideration in New York City. You'll find yourself within easy walking distance of several subway lines, providing seamless connections to virtually any part of Manhattan and beyond. This is particularly advantageous for guests unfamiliar with the city's intricate transit system. Nearby subway stations include the J, M, Z at Bowery; the F, B, D at Broadway-Lafayette Street; and the 6 at Spring Street. This extensive network means that iconic attractions like SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Lower East Side, and even Greenwich Village are just a stroll or a short subway ride away.
Beyond public transport, The Nolitan's central location in Lower Manhattan makes it easily reachable by taxi, ride-sharing services, or even cycling, given the increasing number of bike lanes in the area. For those arriving from out of town, its proximity to major bridges and tunnels simplifies airport transfers, although public transit from JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports is also a viable option with transfers. The neighborhood itself is highly walkable, encouraging guests to explore on foot and discover the countless hidden gems that define Nolita's unique character.

The Nolitan Reviews
The hotel is a bit old, but it’s okay for the money you pay. However, they charged my card for the stay without my consent (definitely not legal) instead of my friend who booked the stay. At the time of check-in, I only gave verbal consent to use my card for a refundable deposit, but they used my card to charge for the stay. This is definitely not right, so be careful with the cards you give them, as they can randomly charge whatever they want.
May 16, 2025 · alina fjplprlCool hotel in a great location close to a lot of great food and walking distance from shopping. The room was comfortable, and had a small balcony overlooking the street. I subtracted one star because the room, while trendy, could use a little attention to some wear and tear, and having a kettle or coffee maker in the room would have been nice. That being said, these issues wouldn't prevent me from staying here again.
Dec 31, 2024 · Sarah BartolThis is our second stay at the Nolitan, this time for a full week while we visited our daughter (who works in architecture and recommended it in the first place). Our corner room was very pleasant, fairly quiet and full of light - sparely furnished in a stylish kind of way. Our room had daily housekeeping - which is less common these days, especially at this price point. The front staff was very helpful and easy to deal with too. The only negatives were that the room needs a little TLC in terms of wood surfaces and fabric care like a small rip in the giant curtain. In such a minimal design these things stand out. In any case, we'll be back again. Nolita is a great area, iconic streets buildings walkable to much of lower and downtown Manhattan.
Apr 03, 2025 · phil aroSome wear and tear on this place, but it's cool, laid back, not pretencious, comfortable, and we love it. The location is awesome. There are great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We had an issue with them overbooking, and even though we made reservations in advance, they had us change rooms midday. It was inconvenient. The staff was gracious and very friendly.
Feb 15, 2025 · Wil-yum L (Wil-yum)It'll do. Nothing to rave about. Minimal amenities. Small coffee pot in lobby in AM was about it. Rooms weren't bad but a number of window seals are broken so you get wonky views. Old school tv system. Found items previous guest obviously left in the room before so not the most confident it was cleaned great. Beds are hard as a rock with even flatter dead pillows to boot.
