As a "Scenic Spot" accommodation, TownePlace Suites Long Island City aims to cater to guests who are in New York to experience its iconic sights and sounds. Its location in Long Island City offers a unique vantage point, often providing views of the Manhattan skyline, a significant draw for many tourists. The hotel's proximity to the subway, approximately three blocks away, is a major advantage for guests looking to navigate the city efficiently. This direct access to public transportation, particularly the F train, means that renowned "Scenic Spots" like Times Square are easily reachable, with an estimated travel time of around 21 minutes. This accessibility allows guests to maximize their time exploring the city's attractions, from Broadway shows to museums and parks, all of which fall under the broad umbrella of "Scenic Spots."
The environment of the TownePlace Suites New York Long Island City/Manhattan View is generally described as clean and well-maintained within the hotel premises. The hotel strives to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for its guests. The interior spaces, including guest rooms and common areas, are typically kept tidy. However, it is important for prospective guests, especially those unfamiliar with the area, to be aware of the immediate surroundings outside the hotel. Some past guests have noted the presence of what they perceived as "projects" nearby and have expressed concerns about feeling unsafe when walking in the vicinity, particularly at night, due to observations of groups of people and what they described as rundown stores. There have also been mentions of "unsavory individuals" on the street, although some guests did not feel personally threatened. This external environment is a factor that guests should consider when booking, especially if they plan to walk extensively in the immediate neighborhood after dark.
In terms of services, the TownePlace Suites operates with a front desk and security personnel to assist guests. Customer reviews highlight the professionalism and helpfulness of some staff members. For instance, individuals like Stanley, Jessica, and Christine have been commended for their assistance, including extending room access during unforeseen circumstances, which greatly facilitated guests' travel plans. This level of service is crucial for a "Scenic Spot" traveler who might encounter unexpected delays or changes to their itinerary. The hotel aims to provide a responsive service experience, although there have been instances where guests reported difficulties reaching the front desk via phone, necessitating an in-person visit. Housekeeping services are typically provided to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms.
Key features of the TownePlace Suites, as an extended-stay brand, often include amenities designed for longer visits, such as in-room kitchens or kitchenettes, which can be a significant benefit for "Scenic Spot" visitors looking to save on dining expenses or with specific dietary needs. While not explicitly detailed in the provided information, extended-stay hotels typically offer features like complimentary breakfast, fitness centers, and laundry facilities, which enhance the convenience for travelers. The "Manhattan View" in the hotel's name suggests that certain rooms offer desirable views of the New York City skyline, a highly sought-after feature for tourists eager to soak in the urban landscape from their accommodation.
Regarding promotional information, the provided customer feedback offers insights into potential benefits or areas where guests felt more could be offered. One guest mentioned receiving some points for another hotel within the chain after an unsatisfactory experience, though they felt it was insufficient for a free night's stay. This indicates that the hotel, like many in the hospitality industry, participates in loyalty programs or offers compensation in certain situations. While specific current promotional offers are not detailed in the provided text, it's common for hotels within the "Scenic Spot" category to run seasonal promotions, discounts for extended stays, or packages that include local attractions. Guests interested in specific deals are advised to check the hotel's official website or contact them directly.
It is important to provide an objective introduction, especially when considering the range of customer experiences. While the hotel is generally described as clean and some staff are highly praised for their professionalism, there have been notable issues reported by guests that prospective visitors should be aware of. One significant concern raised by a guest was a disturbance caused by loud music from an adjacent room in the early hours of the morning, which was not promptly or effectively resolved to their satisfaction by the hotel staff, including security. This experience led to significant sleep disruption and dissatisfaction. The guest highlighted issues with the handling of the complaint, including a perceived lack of urgency from staff and a security guard's initial reluctance to intervene, stating the guest had "a right to play music." Such incidents, while hopefully isolated, underscore the importance of hotel responsiveness to guest complaints, especially concerning disturbances that impact comfort and sleep quality. For a "Scenic Spot" traveler who might have early morning plans or late-night returns, a good night's sleep is paramount.
In summary, the TownePlace Suites New York Long Island City/Manhattan View, positioned as a "Scenic Spot" accommodation, offers convenient access to Manhattan via the subway, and its internal cleanliness and the helpfulness of some staff members are positive aspects. However, prospective guests should be mindful of the external environment in the immediate vicinity and consider the implications of past guest experiences regarding noise disturbances and the hotel's handling of such issues. For those prioritizing subway access and a clean room as a base for their New York adventures, and who are comfortable with the surrounding neighborhood, this hotel could be a suitable option. For the most up-to-date promotional information or specific amenity details, direct inquiry with the hotel or checking their official booking channels is recommended.

TownePlace Suites New York Long Island City/Manhattan View Reviews
Wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. Sadly I wish I had researched the area more, as we only realised when walking with our luggage from the subway that we were right next to the projects. We walked through a group of people hanging outside a run down store and we absolutely did not feel safe. We even saw the same projects on the local news for some kind of crime during our stay! Beware walking around there especially at night. In regards to the hotel itself it was clean, but on our first night we were woken up at 4am to some inconsiderate degenerate blasting music with heavy bass next door. I complained to the woman at the front desk (who did not pick up my call - I had to go downstairs) and she went upstairs with the man on security. My wife overheard her say later that the music was not that loud but she said the guest had stopped it. I would kindly suggest if she were to ever read this review that what she hears in the hall is not the same as what one hears when inside the room with the way bass travels and due to the distance of the speakers through the thin walls. We returned to our rooms and still heard loud music thumping through the wall. I went back downstairs and the security guard and lady came back upstairs. I absolutely kid you not that the security guard said verbatim 'he has a right to play music' and he did not want to knock. Now I don't know if he was scared of the guest having already seen him but that is unacceptable, as I also have a right to sleep and no reasonable and good quality hotel should allow a guest to play music at 4 or 5am when other guests next door can hear it.I got them to finally knock again and they turned the music off. However, my wife and I could still hear them and they were also banging against our wall which at that point just felt intentional. We spoke to a nice guy called Kevin the next day at the front desk but there was no offer of an upgrade which was disappointing given the experience we had and the clear amount of empty rooms in the hotel as seen online. Whilst we got some points for another one of the chain's hotels, it wasn't that much and nowhere near enough for a free night's stay.Given the above I have no choice but to give this hotel 1* and it sadly lessened our enjoyment of the Broadway play we stayed up late to watch the following evening, as we were both exhausted from only 4 hours sleep the night before.
May 31, 2025 · LukeMy wife and I stayed here for our vacation/anniversary. The hotel's price and its proximity to the subway (three blocks) were key factors. A big thanks to Stanley, Jessica, and Christine for their professionalism. When an issue on Wall Street forced us back on checkout day, they kindly extended our room access so we could get our belongings. You made it easy for us!While there were a few unsavory individuals on the street (a couple of junkies), we never felt threatened or unsafe." 21 minutes from hotel to Times square taking the subway, (F)
May 25, 2025 · Poltergeist MusicMXMy husband and I recently stayed there for two days. First things first it is located kind of in the middle of nowhere. It's surrounded by housing projects and non stop construction which was irritating. The hotel itself starting with the lobby is very well kept, clean and nice. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. We checked in a bit late and our room door was all the way open when we arrived which we found off but assumed housekeeping had probably just finished up with our room. The room in itself was nice and spacious and very clean. The king bed was quite comfortable and the room had all the amenities we required. Here are some pros and cons of our stayPros: It was conveniently located near the train station just a walk away that takes you into Manhattan. Also a less than 40 dollar Uber ride to time square.Parking that was only 55 a nightThe staff to include the amazing breakfast attendants who were friendly and made sure that nothing went low at any time. They were constantly refilling the food items and making fresh coffee. The complimentary breakfast and coffee in the lower lobby.ConsConstant construction noisePaper thin walls to where it sounded like everyone in adjacent rooms and house keeping staff were in the room with us anytime they spoke or made a soundThe thermostat in the room worked so oddly to the point that we were either freezing or burning up and there was no in between.Ultimately the stay was decent and we would probably book again for the price.
Mar 11, 2025 · Jeannie CThe rooms are cozy, new, and sleek. The hotel is very boutique, stylish, and inviting. I came in late and had a few requests, and Stanley at the front was attentively accommodating. The valet parking was fast and easy, and the staff were so nice. Management was at the front when I retrieved my car to leave; and they were cheerful and friendly. Very surprised to get a room here at such a low rate! I highly recommend and will definitely be returning when I work in Brooklyn again!
Feb 04, 2025 · User44We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. They emailed after I booked and asked if we were doing anything special for our stay. I replied that we were coming on a trip for my mom's birthday. When we checked in to our room, they had birthday decorations around the room. My mom was so excited! The staff was wonderful, they remembered us each time they saw us and always welcomed us as we came to and fro.It was close to a subway station and tons of food, stores within walking distance. Manhattan is just 2 subway stops away. The view from the rooftop terrace is beautiful! Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Long Island City!!
