Residence Inn New York Queens Introduce
The Residence Inn New York Queens, located at 38-39 9th St, Long Island City, NY 11101, USA, positions itself as a practical and comfortable "Scenic Spot" for travelers seeking an extended stay or an apartment-style experience while exploring the vast "Scenic Spot" that is New York City. Situated in Long Island City, a vibrant and rapidly developing borough directly across from Manhattan, this Marriott-affiliated hotel offers a convenient base that balances comfort with accessibility to the city's iconic landmarks and attractions, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers who desire more than just a typical hotel room.
The environment of the Residence Inn New York Queens is designed to emulate the comfort and functionality of an efficiency apartment, a key aspect frequently highlighted by guests. The rooms are described as "great" and "comfy quarters," providing a welcoming and spacious feel. A significant environmental feature is the inclusion of a "cook top and good kitchenware for 4" within each room, allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which is particularly beneficial for extended stays or for families. This kitchenette setup contributes to a more homely and self-sufficient atmosphere. The hotel's location in Long Island City offers a dynamic urban environment, with its own evolving culinary scene, art galleries, and waterfront parks, while still providing convenient access to the more traditional "Scenic Spot" attractions of Manhattan. The hotel aims to provide a quiet environment within its comfortable rooms, ensuring a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. While specific architectural details of the building are not provided, the focus is clearly on the internal environment of the guest rooms, which are equipped to provide a sense of residential comfort. It is worth noting a guest's comment about a "terrifyingly wobbly" elevator, which indicates a potential area for environmental improvement in terms of guest comfort and perception of safety, though this seems to be a single isolated observation about one of the three elevators.
The services offered at Residence Inn New York Queens are tailored to support an extended-stay experience, with a focus on convenience and self-sufficiency. A standout service is the complimentary breakfast, which guests describe as "good enough," including "homestyle eggs, potatoes, a meat, and some fruit," offering more variety than just breads. This complimentary meal adds significant value for guests, particularly those staying for several days or weeks. The presence of mini-kitchens in the rooms, complete with essential kitchenware, is another key service, empowering guests to cook their own meals and manage their dietary preferences. The hotel staff, including Guest Service Agent Amir and receptionist Shankar, are noted for their interaction with guests, addressing concerns and providing explanations, though the effectiveness of resolutions can vary based on individual situations, as seen in the feedback regarding the damaged item and parking charges. Standard hotel services such as a front desk are implied, though specific hours are not detailed. For connectivity, complimentary Wi-Fi is generally expected at Residence Inn properties, supporting both leisure and business needs. Parking is an amenity offered, but with a significant charge for SUVs, highlighting the importance of clarifying costs directly with the hotel. While the incident with housekeeping causing damage is a concern, it is a specific issue rather than a general reflection on daily cleaning services. For any inquiries, guests can contact the hotel at (929) 349-2600 or via mobile at +1 929-349-2600, indicating accessible communication channels for guest support.
The features of Residence Inn New York Queens are primarily designed to enhance the extended-stay experience and provide convenient access to the wider New York City "Scenic Spot." The most prominent feature is the "mini kitchen" or "cook top and good kitchenware" in each room, transforming the accommodation into an "efficiency apartment." This allows guests to maintain routines, save on dining costs, and enjoy a more home-like environment. The rooms are noted for being "comfortable" and "quiet," crucial for a relaxing stay in a bustling city. The hotel's location is a significant feature, being "within 20 minutes’ drive to Manhattan and Times Square," making it "a good base for exploring the city." This proximity allows guests to easily access iconic landmarks and attractions without the higher costs often associated with staying in Manhattan. The hotel's affiliation with Marriott, as a Residence Inn, implies certain brand standards regarding quality and amenities, though the breakfast standard has been noted as a potential area for improvement by one reviewer. The presence of multiple elevators in a bank of three, despite one being wobbly, suggests adequate vertical transportation for guests. While specific details on other features like a fitness center or common areas are not explicitly provided in the reviews, Residence Inn properties typically include such amenities to cater to the needs of extended-stay guests. The overall design of the rooms, offering spaciousness and practical living areas, is a key feature that differentiates it from standard hotel rooms, making it particularly appealing for longer visits or family travel. The ability to prepare meals and have a separate living space provides a significant advantage for guests who value independence and comfort during their stay in the city.
The promotional information for Residence Inn New York Queens emphasizes its unique value proposition as an apartment-style hotel for extended stays and convenient access to New York City. The primary promotional message centers around the "great room" with its "cook top and good kitchenware," positioning the hotel as a home away from home. This feature directly appeals to families, business travelers on long assignments, and anyone who prefers the flexibility and cost-saving benefits of in-room meal preparation. The hotel is promoted as a "good base for exploring the city," highlighting its convenient location "within 20 minutes’ drive to Manhattan and Times Square." This accessibility to core "Scenic Spot" attractions is a crucial selling point. The inclusion of a complimentary breakfast, even if its variety is debated, is a valuable promotional amenity, attracting guests looking to save on daily expenses. While the issue of parking charges for third-party bookings is a potential point of contention, the hotel's general offering of parking is still a promotional asset for guests with vehicles, albeit with a need for clear communication on pricing. The comfort and quietness of the rooms are also important promotional aspects, reassuring guests of a peaceful and restful stay. The hotel's affiliation with Marriott and the Residence Inn brand lends it credibility and a promise of certain service standards, which is often a strong promotional tool. Despite some individual setbacks mentioned in reviews, the overall promotional strategy focuses on providing a practical, comfortable, and value-driven accommodation option for those who wish to immerse themselves in the New York City experience, leveraging its apartment-like features and strategic Long Island City location to access the vast urban "Scenic Spot" that surrounds it.

Residence Inn New York Queens Reviews
The room was great. Loved having a cook top and good kitchenware for 4. It felt like an efficiency apartment. Comfy quarters. They need to work on the elevator that's the singleton in the bank of 3 because it rides terrifyingly wobbly. Betcha that's the one where somebody got stuck last month. Breakfast was good enough, include homestyle eggs, potatoes, a meat, and some fruit. Not just breads.
Apr 08, 2025 · Rene StephensonResidence Inn – Queens, New York: Honest Stay with a Few SetbacksI stayed at the Residence Inn in Queens, New York for two nights, and overall, it was a decent experience. The location is quite convenient—within 20 minutes’ drive to Manhattan and Times Square—making it a good base for exploring the city. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and equipped with a mini kitchen, which was a great bonus for a short stay. However, there were several disappointments. The breakfast section was very limited and far below the standard I’ve experienced at other Marriott properties—it definitely needs improvement. I was also surprised by the parking charges: though parking was listed as an amenity during booking, I was charged $55 per night for an SUV. The receptionist, Shankar, explained that this was because I booked through Agoda, a third-party site, and claimed they often show inaccurate information. As a VIP Platinum member with Agoda, I found this explanation unacceptable. To make matters worse, while I was out during the day, housekeeping damaged my Adidas track pajama—I returned at night to find bleach splashes all over it. I reported this to Guest Service Agent Amir, who listened to the complaint but offered no resolution or compensation.
May 01, 2025 · Mohammed Amro HadiI usually have a great experience at the Residence Inn New York Queens, but unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. As an airline employee, rest is critical for me, and I did not achieve that this morning. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, I frequently use the late checkout feature, which helps me decide whether to extend my stay or report to work. However, despite having a Do Not Disturb sign on my door, housekeeping attempted to enter my room multiple times throughout the morning, rushing me to leave. By the third attempt—after I had already called the front desk—I had enough.I feel that a simple phone call would have been much more appropriate instead of repeatedly barging into my room. I am very disappointed that I even have to write this, as this is not the level of service I expect from Marriott. I hope management addresses this issue so that loyal guests like myself can continue to stay here with confidence.
Mar 22, 2025 · Kio WrrldRooms are clean and fine, 5min walk to subway and quick connnection to Manhattan. Breakfast sucks but at least cooffee is ok. Service good.
May 25, 2025 · Kuba OwocI got stuck on an elevator, which is no fault of the hotel but I pressed the call button over and over and the alarm but no response. I finally reached someone after calling the front desk three times and an engineer finally came and got me out. I had a flight to catch while I was stuck waiting in there but what if it was an actual life and death emergency?Parking is also a nightmare. You have no choice but to use the slow Valet drivers who are never on post. You have to hunt them down just to get your car back.I can’t go on but after these two, why would anyone stay here?I absolutely recommend another hotel.
