The Aliz Hotel Times Square stands out as a contemporary hotel designed to cater to both the bustling energy of the city and the need for a comfortable retreat. It’s a popular choice for visitors eager to experience the vibrant pulse of Times Square, but it also holds significant appeal for locals. The hotel aims to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience, making it a place where you can truly unwind after a day of exploring, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of our city from a fresh vantage point.
From the moment you step into the Aliz Hotel, you're greeted by a modern aesthetic and a commitment to guest comfort. While some have noted the lobby can get busy, particularly in the evenings due to the popular rooftop bar, many find the overall experience to be positive, highlighting the quick check-in process and friendly front desk staff. The hotel's design focuses on maximizing space and comfort, even in the typically compact New York hotel room footprint. It's a place that understands the needs of a diverse clientele, striving to offer a welcoming environment for everyone.
For those of us living in the greater New York area, the Aliz Hotel offers an excellent opportunity for a convenient getaway without leaving the five boroughs. It’s a chance to experience the city like a tourist for a day or two, enjoying the proximity to major attractions without the hassle of a long commute. Whether you're planning a romantic weekend, a family adventure, or simply a solo escape, the Aliz Hotel Times Square provides a practical and enjoyable option.
One of the most significant advantages of the Aliz Hotel Times Square is its prime location at 310 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018, USA. This puts it squarely in the vibrant and bustling Times Square area, meaning you’re literally steps away from some of the city's most iconic landmarks and attractions. For New Yorkers, this means unparalleled access to Broadway theaters, world-class dining, and an endless array of entertainment options. Imagine catching a matinee and then being able to walk back to your room in minutes!
Beyond the immediate surroundings of Times Square, the hotel boasts excellent accessibility to various parts of the city via New York's unparalleled public transportation system. Multiple subway lines are within easy walking distance, including major hubs that connect you to virtually every neighborhood in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and beyond. This makes it incredibly convenient for exploring different parts of the city, from the art galleries of Chelsea to the historic streets of Greenwich Village, or the trendy shops of SoHo.
For those preferring to walk, many key destinations are surprisingly close. Bryant Park, with its seasonal activities and lush green spaces, is just a short stroll away. Grand Central Terminal, the majestic gateway to Midtown East and beyond, is also within easy reach. The hotel's proximity to the Port Authority Bus Terminal makes it convenient for those arriving from New Jersey or other parts of the region by bus. Even for those driving into the city, the hotel's central location on 40th Street offers relatively straightforward access, though parking in Midtown Manhattan always requires some planning.
One of the recurring highlights from guests is the stunning views available from higher floors. Many rooms offer breathtaking vistas of Hudson Yards, including the iconic Vessel and the dramatic architecture of The Edge observation deck. Aliz Hotel Times Square Reviews
Fist time visiting NYC and this hotel made my experience wonderful. It's close to everything either walking or on subway. The staff at front desk were very welcoming and sweet. My check in was quick. The rooms are a bit small with 3 of us but we had no problem moving around. We got a high floor on 37th floor and had a great view of Hudson yards and the Edge. Housekeeping was wonderful.. whenever we got back we'd find our room clean and made up.I think people that gave this hotel a low review had a bad day before they got to the hotel and just blamed the hotel for everything.Yes the lobby is a bit small and sometimes a little crowded at night cause their rooftop bar is pretty popular.. we went and loved it. We didn't have any problems waiting for the elevator.. there are 3 elevators and on weekends at night they do get busy but the wait is not even that long.I've seen bad reviews about getting the deposit taking forever.. and yet my deposit was in my account in 3 business days.. it just depends on your bank.Overall we had a wonderful stay and definitely will book again at Aliz Hotel on my next trip back to NYC.. thank you all for being the best.
May 06, 2025 · Ageda AlvaradoIf you want to have a bad experience during your trip in New York this is your hotel, definitely. The persons at the front desk are everything but nice. They don't care if you are not happy with the service, it's your problem. You need to insist on your real needs and on the deficiencies of the service offered and even then, they may not react. The request for prices at breakfast varies in a question of minutes depending on who you ask to. They offer a price for a taxi service and when they confirm it, a different -higher price- appears. Not serious at all, honestly. Not to talk about the room service and cleaning service. Most of the days they simply not arrange at all the room. AT ALL¡ No new towels, no bed arranging, no trash collection, no bath foam or shampoo to take a shower. Nothing¡ Moreover if yo have the bad chance to have a room below floor 15, you will suffer from the noise of the street, difficult to have a rest. The rooms have little space to take your clothes out of the luggage (tiny wardrobe), and even to leave the luggage in the room. The hotel is in a perfect location and the beds are confortable, but the personal attention should improve A LOT.
Mar 22, 2025 · Alfredo GarcíaSo glad we stayed here, it seemed to be 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do, the service was good, the breakfast was all you could eat with a variety of cereal, waffles, bagels, bacon, eggs, sausages etc. the lifts were quick, we didn't go in peak season so it made a difference I guess. We were on floor 24 and had quite a nice view. Our room had two double beds, friends travelling together so one each, the bathroom was a good size, everything was clean. The downside is there was literally not a lot of storage for two people, one wardrobe and one drawer, nowhere to put your cases which most of our clothes were still in. No room under the bed either. Not sure how a family of four would cope. There is a small fridge in the room which was replenished daily with a small bottle of water each. Plenty of charging points and sockets. The lighting is mainly focused over the headboard, not a lot for the wardrobe area however the bathroom lights will sort that out. The bathroom had various different light switches, bright, brighter and spotlight bright, a plug socket for the provided hairdryer, a large mirror over the sink as usual and also a large mirror on the back of the sliding door so you can watch yourself on the toilet! The door in our room kept sliding open a few inches so it didn't feel very private. We went up to the 40th floor for a drink the first night and the views were amazing as was the service, approximately 25 dollars each for a cocktail but you're on holiday spoil yourself. We went up again on the last night and the service was different, we were told to sit at the bar and when we looked there was nowhere to sit, the barman just shook his head and turned away, no drinks for us then! So we went to the other end of the bar and got served straightway, it was like entering two different bars! Overall the hotel and the service was good and we loved it. We would definitely stay there again.
May 11, 2025 · Chrissie LeeIt was a great location however, when we arrived at the property for check in, we were notified that the room we wanted (2 double beds) was sold out for the night so they put us in 2 separate rooms with 2 king beds. This wouldn’t have been a problem if we weren’t required to check out and check back in the next day and move all our things the next day when the room became available. Huge inconvenience. On top, one of the bathrooms had a really bad sewage smell
May 20, 2025 · RbWhen I checked into Aliz NYC, the city was buzzing — and so was the hotel. There was some construction happening when I arrived, which I noticed right away, but what stood out far more was the incredible service I received at the front desk.A young woman (a native New Yorker, possibly Dominican) assisted me during check-in, and she was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, efficient, and deeply knowledgeable about the hotel, she made me feel immediately welcome. She offered a full rundown of the property’s amenities and then went above and beyond — gifting me with complimentary drink vouchers for the bar, a burger combo (including dessert!) from the hotel restaurant, and credit to use at their in-house market. It was thoughtful, generous, and really set the tone for my stay. She also offered local restaurant recommendations, one of which led me to Sei Less — a great spot I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. I really appreciated the local insight; it made the experience feel personal, not transactional.Later, I realized I’d forgotten a few travel essentials, and the staff responded quickly, bringing what I needed without hesitation. That kind of attentiveness goes a long way. Even at night, when the building was at full occupancy, they had extra staff stationed by the elevators to keep things running smoothly — a small but meaningful touch that shows they care about efficiency and guest experience. As someone who loves skyline views and high-rise vibes, I booked a balcony suite, hoping for that New York City magic. Unfortunately, the view from my room didn’t quite live up to that expectation — the balcony was there, but there wasn’t much of a view to enjoy. That was a bit of a letdown, especially for someone who chases cityscapes. Still, the room itself was modern, clean, and comfortable, and I appreciated the minimalist decor and the attention to cleanliness throughout the property.Overall, despite the construction and minor disappointment with the view, the staff made this stay memorable. They were warm, responsive, and genuinely seemed to care about the guest experience. If you're looking for a centrally located, well-maintained hotel with stellar hospitality, Aliz is a solid choice in Midtown.
