More than just a place to stay, it has been a destination, a cultural landmark, and a vibrant hub for artists, celebrities, and those seeking a unique, atmospheric experience in the heart of Manhattan. After a period of closure, locals and visitors alike can rejoice as this beloved establishment is set to undergo significant renovations and reopen its doors in 2025 under new ownership. This revitalization promises to restore the hotel to its original splendor, bringing back its distinctive allure and re-establishing its place as a premier destination in New York City.
The Gramercy Park Hotel, originally opened in 1925, has always been celebrated for its distinctive aesthetic – a blend of luxurious, plush reds and velvets, an art-filled interior curated by artist Julian Schnabel, and a wonderfully moody ambiance that feels both opulent and inviting, without being pretentious. Guests have consistently praised its quiet tranquility, a rare find in the bustling city, making it an ideal choice for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat. The hotel's legendary Rose Bar and Jade Bar have long been central to New York's social scene, known for their sophisticated cocktails and vibrant, yet intimate, atmosphere. The highly anticipated return of these iconic spaces, along with a revitalized culinary program, is eagerly awaited.
Perhaps the most extraordinary feature of the Gramercy Park Hotel, and one that truly sets it apart, is the exclusive access it grants to the private Gramercy Park. This unique amenity, combined with the hotel's rich history of hosting cultural figures and its commitment to a refined yet artistic environment, makes the Gramercy Park Hotel a truly special place. Gramercy Park Hotel Reviews
Overall I was very pleased. They accommodated my request and were helpful. The room was great. One of the more interesting looking hotels inside , plush reds and velvets. It was for a romantic get away and it did not disappoint. It was quiet. I paid up for a king room with a view of the park. They upgraded me to a suite. We didn't take advantage of the great restaurant but the Jade and rose bar are cool. Guest at the hotel have access to Gramercy park which is not open to the public, one of the cooler features.
May 27, 2018 · Greg CMy entire stay here was great. I arrived somewhat late from JFK and the front desk was super welcoming and friendly... even that late at night. Room service and concierge was also great (I ordered the grilled cheese - it was super and not what I expected). The hotel itself is probably my new favorite in NYC... feels dark and moody, without feeling pretentious.I’ll definitely be staying here again.
Feb 19, 2020 · Ryan Rovira-LanzendorfLovely historical hotel. I got a deluxe King bed room without a view for for nights. Great size for NYC, lovely furnishings.. But it's just old. The radiator was making noise the whole night. Nothing that kept me up, but something that can be very alarming happening every now and then. At least two of the nights I was Disturbed by knocks on the door by room service asking me if I needed anything.. Like making the bed ready for sleeping... Once even opening my door. This is quite outrageous. Once I was in the bathroom another time I was already in the bed. I gather it must have been motivated by the desire of tips. This has never happened in my 15 years of travel experience. Won't get this place next time. Won't recommend you unless you just want this for its names sake
Feb 02, 2020 · Anshu JainThis hotel was beautiful, absolutely amazing. We attended a wedding on the rooftop terrace and the skyline views were really great. If you're a fan of art, this is the place to be because there are some amazing originals from Andy Warhol decorating the walls. This is a wonderful and romantic venue, and I highly recommend checking it out!
Aug 26, 2018 · Gary SolovyovThis is a really fantastic hotel. It's really beautifully decorated with a really warm and cozy feel. The style is old school, with a lot of red velvet and dark wood, but it really works. Both in the lobby and in the bar there are two really beautiful fireplaces. The location is obviously also fantastic.
