Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook Introduce
For New Yorkers, whether you're traveling for business, visiting family, or simply exploring the beautiful North Shore of Long Island, finding the right accommodation can significantly enhance your experience. The Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook stands out as a prominent option, offering a convenient location and a range of amenities designed for both comfort and practicality. Situated in the heart of Stony Brook, this hotel serves as an ideal base for those visiting Stony Brook University, Stony Brook Hospital, or exploring the charming local attractions of this vibrant Long Island community. While every stay offers its unique nuances, the Hilton Garden Inn aims to provide a reliable and welcoming environment that caters to a diverse array of guests, from academics and medical professionals to families on a leisure trip.
The hotel's reputation as a go-to for those in the area is often highlighted by its attentive staff and convenient services. As one guest, Lauryn, enthusiastically shared, "This is our 2nd time as a mother daughter sup staying at this Hilton. Our first trip we had a kind bedroom, clean and cozy our bathroom was clean and beautifully set up. everything was in working order and stocked. Our second time was this past weekend for mother's Day. I and my 7-year-old came to stay from Friday to Sunday. We had reserved a junior suite online which was very simple. I am a Hilton Honors member so all of my check-ins have been very simple, I.D and the c.c used to reserve online is what I'm asked for upon arrival and it's a simple transaction and off to the room. All within a five-minute time frame, it's incredible. when I go to Atlantic City and stay in the casinos the check-in is always much longer. I LOVE the fact that checking in has been a breeze every single time." This sentiment underscores the hotel's commitment to efficiency and guest satisfaction, particularly for Hilton Honors members.
Another review offers a balanced perspective, noting, "There are good things and not so good things about this hotel. Starting with value, I understand they are somewhat of the only game in town, but $300+ a night, especially considering what you get for the money is a steep ask. And this on a wedding block rate. The facility is nice enough, the restaurant/bar have surprisingly decent offerings for breakfast and dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive (extra towels, malfunctioning lamp bulb replacement)." These insights help paint a comprehensive picture of what guests can expect, highlighting the hotel's strong points, such as friendly staff and on-site dining, while also acknowledging areas like pricing and soundproofing that some guests might consider. The overarching theme, however, remains one of convenience and a generally positive experience, particularly for those with specific needs like attending a wedding or visiting the university.

Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook Reviews
There are good things and not so good things about this hotel. Starting with value, I understand they are somewhat of the only game in town, but $300+ a night, especially considering what you get for the money is a steep ask. And this on a wedding block rate. The facility is nice enough, the restaurant/bar have surprisingly decent offerings for breakfast and dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive (extra towels, malfunctioning lamp bulb replacement). However the floors and walls are paper thin, I understand part of this on inconsiderate neighbors who scream and allow there kids to run around at 11 pm, but just know you will hear EVERYTHING going on around you, from people, to footsteps, to plumbing. As others have said, the mattresses are meh, pillows are a weird combination of too hard and too soft, and you will spend your stay closing doors to open others in the narrow entrance. In the morning they offer free coffee, a $18 breakfast with several options. The restaurant seemed understaffed as they were really hustling, But the waistlines weren’t too bad. An evening snack and drink was tasty, the place was packed with a wedding group after event gathering, so food took a little bit of time but our choices were tasty and seemed freshly prepared.Parking was plentiful, check in/out was easy. Just wish we got better nights sleep.

I LOVE the fact that checking in has been a breeze every single time.( Lauryn ) is who initially checked us in and she was also at the front desk throughout our entire stay helping with anything we needed. She was kind to I and my daughter as soon as we walked in the door. My daughter really enjoyed her kindness and wanted me to send her a big thank you in our review ❤️. Thank you Lauryn for helping make our stay so beautiful, it was such a memorable weekend for us. Thank you for everything you did for us during our stay. You're awesome !The suite has two televisions, we could watch whether at the same time and or be far from one another during rest time. We both slept in the king bed and had plenty plenty of room. the room was clean and no issues no smells. the coffee machine workedthe gym is nice but small... not much to work out with but it does the job for a short stay... the pool is great and it's clean each time we have stayed it's been quiet joyful and clean. My kiddo loves this pool so much.northern coast is the restaurant inside, we've had dinner and breakfast here, the first time we had dinner and it was not our favorite by any means..so we went out for dinner this time.. BUT, we did like northern coasts pancake and French toast so it made up for it. but order your 18$ worth of food, I paid 18$ for 4 slices of French toast and a little dollop of scramble eggs 😂 crazy butthe time spent with my little one for our mother's day retreat was worth every penny I spent. We wIll always be returning to this hotel ❤️. maybe just bringing our own snacks 😂 for in between 😉
May 05, 2025 · CaseyThis is the worst hilton hotel I have ever stayed. The reception seems very unsatisfied or unhappy with their jobs and refused to help in any regard. I have been here several times but every time there were some problems. Hot water was broken in the winter (!!) - when I called, they said they were fully booked and could not change room. They said they would send someone to take a look, but that person never came. No one even called or cared to help. I was frozen that night. Another time, for some reason, I was assigned to a two queen bed room even though I was traveling by myself. Again, they claimed that they were fully booked. The coffee machine was broken, but I did not even bother asking for help, because you know what you would get given the past experiences. Talking to them feels much worse than talking to robots. Breakfast does not have many options. The AC was very loud that I had to turn it off - but think about it in the winter and summer. This place is just terrible as hell, especially the people there will make sure that you feel unwelcome!
Apr 11, 2025 · Saoirse YinOur room was missing an ottoman so when you're sitting in the main area of the room you have no way to put your feet up or do anything. The water didn't drain in the shower. You'd be taking a shower and it would just like fill up to your ankle. The TV would display a message that said signal not available. I've stayed here before and I've never really had a problem, but we were on the Stony Brook campus for some medical testing and needed a place to stay for a couple of days so I really didn't have time to make big complaints.
Feb 18, 2025 · Mars PlexI had to stay here overnight for some finals I had to take here at Stony Brook University in May. Booking a room was very easy and straightforward. Upon arrival, we were met with kindness from the front desk and the staff by the front door. The place is very very clean and the staff were beyond respectful and pleasant to talk with! The dinner was exceptional and delicious! The breakfast the following morning was very yummy too. However, my only crutch was that the bed was extremely uncomfortable and painful to sleep in. The mattress is super thin and the pillows felt like they had no filling at all. Could've been 10 feathers or plush balls in there for all I know. Hilton you're doing a great job but PLEASE invest in more comfortable bedding, pillows and mattress. It's the only thing holding my family and I from staying there again. Getting a good night's rest is just as important as anything else.
