Holiday Inn Express NYC Chelsea - NoMad Area by IHG Reviews
A five minute walk from Penn station so the location was perfect for getting around. The lad at check-in was very friendly and efficient. My room on the 11th floor was a great size and everything was clean and in good order.Bed was comfortable and a selection of pillows provided. Good quality towels and bath products.Heat/aircon was easy to control.Little couch in the room was a welcome touch as I'm here for 10 nights.Great room view of the Empire state building, which is the icing on the cake.Had breakfast today and didn't see a lot of variety also found the plastic cutlery and paper plates and cups a bit of a let down.
Apr 27, 2025 · Mary O'TooleStayed at the property for one day. Close to Penn Station (I easily walked from the train station to the hotel). Close to restaurants and Hudson Yards (an easy flat 10 minute walk to High Line park). I arrived early and check in is at 3 pm. The front desk staff held my luggage while I walked around the neighborhood. Check in was smooth and I enjoyed the evening cookies provided in the lobby. There is breakfast in the small lobby dining area but also seating outside in the front of the restaurant. Only two elevators so can be a very short wait for elevators when many guests are waiting. The room was corner double room - close to another room in the adjacent side and we could hear when the other guests would open and close the door. Otherwise the hallways and sound inside of the room was quiet. The double room is tight on space as one of the beds was nearly right inside of the door. The beds were extremely comfortable semi firm mattresses. The bathroom was a good size to share but not the cleanest as there were some stray hairs from previous guests and accumulated grime around the faucets, etc. check out was easy and when I requested a late check out day off the property was able to accommodate until 12 noon. The staff were able to hold my luggage until I left later. We paid $349 for one night; due to the size and lack of bathroom cleanliness I would only stay again for short time (location is good and walkable to other places and attractions).
May 08, 2025 · Christina CallowayThis review is very close to a 5 star. Value is outstanding, the rooms are spotless, the staff are okay. Two areas need improvement. First, you NEED to either extend the breakfast area by having an outside tent with heaters during winter and or extend the fixtures out permanently because the restaurant is so crowded we often had nowhere to sit. Either that or a crowd control measure by allocating different eating times to certain rooms. You could also improve it by having better takeaway friendly plates and cups to allow people to carry stuff to the room without spilling. Overall breakfast was basic but hearty and filling. Good protein options. The other major issue I had was NOISE. You need better signs warning guests not to yell when they come out of the lifts. Also soundproof rooms near lifts better and add soft close mechanics to doors so they cannot be slammed! There’s no point in having nice rooms if I can’t sleep in them due to constant slamming of doors and people yelling in corridors. Other than that I was very pleased with my stay here.
Mar 20, 2025 · B. MatthewThe value for money is great given it’s the heart of Manhattan. Location is great (subway and easy access to JFK, EWR via Penn Station) rooms are good and that’s pretty much it. The cleanliness was acceptable. I have mixed feelings about staff. Some were really nice, some seemed to be somewhat disengaged… I recommend this hotel for a short stay but personally I’d stay someplace else next time.
May 04, 2025 · Wojciech StrycharczykI came to New York for my 20th and no hotel would take me after I already booked and I came alone. This was one of the only hotels that takes 18+ which saved my trip and birthday! Staff very very nice and house keeping lady was the nicest lady ever. Will definitely be back here and book at this location. Breakfast was nice as well.
