Love this park! It's a nice and much needed connection to the trail. The stairs do have a drainage issue during bad weather though so lots of puddles and slippery spots. But the flowers, benches and artwork is really nice. - Cassandra C

Martin Ginsburg Park Introduce

Nestled within the vibrant Greystone neighborhood of Yonkers, New York, Martin Ginsburg Park stands as a testament to thoughtful urban planning and the creation of valuable green spaces for local residents. This relatively new park, dedicated in April 2023, offers a serene and aesthetically pleasing environment for relaxation, recreation, and connection with nature, making it a highly desirable spot for those living in or visiting the area. Named in honor of Martin Ginsburg, a prominent figure in Westchester County's residential development, the park exemplifies a successful public-private partnership aimed at enhancing community amenities and improving the quality of life for Yonkers locals. It's more than just a park; it's a beautifully designed gateway that brings the tranquility of nature right to your doorstep, a truly welcome addition to the city's impressive roster of 81 neighborhood parks.

Martin Ginsburg Park is particularly notable for its strategic design and its ability to seamlessly integrate with the existing urban fabric while providing crucial access to a beloved regional amenity. It was conceived to repurpose underutilized land, transforming it into a lush, inviting landscape that encourages outdoor activity and provides a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park’s development, a collaborative effort between Ginsburg Development Companies and the City of Yonkers, underscores a commitment to expanding public access to green spaces and fostering a healthier, more connected community. For anyone in the New York region looking for a peaceful escape or a picturesque route for their daily strolls, Martin Ginsburg Park offers an exceptional experience. Its carefully manicured spaces, artistic touches, and thoughtful amenities create an inviting atmosphere for visitors of all ages, ensuring that it quickly became a cherished local landmark.

One of the most significant aspects of Martin Ginsburg Park is its prime location and excellent accessibility. Situated at 1104 Warburton Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701, USA, the park is easily reachable for residents of the Greystone neighborhood and beyond. Its most distinguishing feature in terms of accessibility is its direct connection to the renowned Old Croton Aqueduct State Trail. This connection is a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a safe and scenic access point to a much longer trail system. The park itself is designed with multiple pathways, including stairways, ramps, and gravel paths, providing varied route options for users. This thoughtful design ensures that while it offers a direct link to a larger trail, it is also a destination in its own right, perfect for shorter walks or simply enjoying the ambiance.

The accessibility extends beyond just the physical connection to the trail. Being located on Warburton Avenue, a well-known thoroughfare in Yonkers, means it's accessible by various modes of transportation. While specific public transit routes directly to the park's entrance are best checked with local transit authorities, its location in a residential area suggests it’s well-served by local bus lines. For those driving, street parking may be available in the vicinity, though it’s always advisable to check local parking regulations. The park's design, with its blend of stairs and ramps, also suggests a consideration for various mobility needs, making it a welcoming space for a diverse range of visitors. However, it's worth noting a customer review mentioned a drainage issue on the stairs during bad weather, which can lead to puddles and slippery spots. Visitors should exercise caution and be aware of conditions during or after rain.

While specific, ongoing promotions or special offers directly from Martin Ginsburg Park itself are not publicly advertised, the park’s existence is a significant benefit to the community. Its creation was a $1 million investment, jointly shared by GDC and the City of Yonkers, effectively serving as a long-term "offer" to the public – providing a free, high-quality public amenity. The park's value lies in its continuous availability as a beautiful, accessible green space. Residents indirectly benefit from this investment through enhanced property values in the surrounding area and an improved quality of life. Local businesses in the Greystone neighborhood may also experience increased foot traffic from park visitors, though no direct promotions are tied to this. Any community events or programs would typically be organized by the City of Yonkers Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department, or local community groups, rather than the park itself having its own promotional calendar. It's always a good idea to check the Yonkers Parks & Recreation official website or local community calendars for any upcoming events that might be held at or near the park.
