For instance, a local environmental non-profit might offer free guided hikes to introduce people to the area, or there might be special events focusing on local flora and fauna that are free or have a nominal fee.
To stay informed about any such activities or events that might be considered "special offers" in an educational or experiential sense, it is advisable to consult the official website of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), as they oversee many conservation areas. Additionally, checking local community calendars, environmental group newsletters on Long Island, and the Town of Huntington's official website could provide information on any public programs or volunteer days that might offer unique access or learning opportunities within Pine Ridge Conservation Area. Pine Ridge Conservation Area Reviews
This place has good size nature trails. It's always quiet and peaceful when I walk here. This place is a great place to hiking and it's perfect for clearing the mind as well as, getting a nice breath of fresh air to help you relax.
Apr 19, 2025 · Michael PasquarellaTrail is pretty isolated and not well marked. You will come across abandoned cars and household items. Easy to get turned around because the trails criss-cross. #urbandecay
Jul 08, 2023 · Sara WottawaI went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon recently and NO ONE was parked in the lot; a security vehicle nearby drove to where my car was and waited there. I was only on the path into the conservation area for maybe 2 minutes and came back to hear that my car would be ticketed by police and that the area was "Hot." What's going on there? Regardless, I did not get a great feeling about the place and won't be back.
Mar 26, 2023 · Ellen Russell DuffyPine Ridge has many paths most of them sandy but not necessarily if you go off the beaten path of which there are many. The narrowest paths are not on All Trails current map. Entrance is off a large parking lot. There's also a paved quarter mile path/track on the north side. It's on the other side of a black fence where the wrecked car is(see photo). The track looks to be part of a hospital relaxation area. It's well groomed with multiple benches. Back to the trail: it can be buggy in spots(mostly face fleas) and if you're on the sandy/pebbly trails and they're steep, there's a lot of erosion which makes them a bit challenging to traverse. Almost all paths are clear but none are marked so make sure you use a map app. Have fun!
Aug 11, 2019 · GREG LEGAKISJust eh 🤷🏻♂️ no good for mountain biking although there are a couple of cool beginner trails hidden deep inside. also, is there a legitimate parking for this place? i had to basically sneak into the office plaza!
