The One Boutique Hotel Reviews
Overall Rating: ★☆☆☆☆Title: Windowless Room, Broken AC, Smell of Weed, and Delayed Deposit – Worst Hotel Experience Ever⸻Room: ★☆☆☆☆The room was completely windowless, which was never mentioned during the booking process. The pictures on Booking.com showed rooms with windows and views, which is totally misleading. The space felt claustrophobic and poorly ventilated. For a hotel calling itself “boutique,” this was shocking and unacceptable.⸻Cleanliness: ★☆☆☆☆Although the room appeared clean on the surface, the entire hotel was filled with the strong smell of marijuana, especially noticeable at night. It made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. We even saw police officers coming to investigate, which speaks volumes about the environment.⸻Service: ★☆☆☆☆The front desk staff, who seemed like part of a family-run business, were unhelpful and unprofessional. We reported that the AC wasn’t working, and they simply told us to “wait a little longer.” After over an hour, the temperature actually went up. We asked for help again, and they said someone would come—no one ever did. When we asked about the deposit refund, we were told it would take five business days, with no formal receipt or documentation provided.⸻Amenities: ★☆☆☆☆The AC system was a total failure. The central air barely worked, and the in-room split unit was useless. The temperature stayed above 80°F (27°C) for hours and even rose while we were out. There were no fans or alternative ventilation. It was hot, stuffy, and impossible to rest.⸻Location: ★★★☆☆The hotel is centrally located in Flushing, which is the only upside. It’s close to restaurants and transportation. But no matter how good the location is, it doesn’t make up for a terrible stay.⸻Value: ★☆☆☆☆The price is high for such poor service and conditions. They charged a $100 deposit at check-in without proper disclosure, and told us at check-out that it would take five days to be returned. For the amount paid, we expected comfort and honesty. Instead, we got neither.⸻Summary:This was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From misleading room listings to dysfunctional AC, poor service, marijuana smell, and a shady deposit policy—everything about this stay was a disaster. I will never return and strongly advise others to avoid this hotel!🤮🤮
May 27, 2025 · chen sunnyI wish there is a zero that I could give to them. Bad management and service people. Looks like the Hotels is run by family members who has no idea what is customer service. Some rooms' AC do not work at all. When we reported to them, they said it should work after waiting a little time. My family waited for almost a hour, but still no improvement We reported to them, they said they will send some one to the room to repair. Nobody showed up for the whole night. My family with a little kid had to sleep with a room temperature of 85 degree. The family members are running the hotel with mafia style. All they care is getting the money from your pocket. Stay away from it, otherwise you will regret!
May 24, 2025 · John ChenStaff were friendly and attended to our needs. The hotel is also right next to a NYPD station making it a safe place. The rooms are pretty cute with an interesting design. However, The furniture was extremely run down with chips and cracks and the rooms had trouble blocking out noise. Every time the elevator came by I could hear it and could also hear other people’s conversation in the hallway. Overall though, not a bad experience
Apr 04, 2025 · Kevin ZhaoRooms are rather run down. Don't trust the pictures online. No phone in the room so you have to call with your cell phone. If they don't know how to respond to your request, they won't answer your call.Room electricity works only when the room card is in the holder near the door. You need that to turn on lights and watch TV. But you can't turn all the lights off if the card is in the holder. So in order to sleep with the light off, you have to pull the card out and cut all the power.Maintenance guy is somebody's uncle or father who doesn't speak any English. Can't solve problems either.Stay here only if you have no other choice.
May 17, 2025 · Joe BognannoThe room I booked had no windows at all (this wasn't disclosed when booking) and a bathroom that was essentially inside the room with no privacy at all. Bed sheets were clearly not clean and underneath the sheet was disgusting and covered in stains. and on top of this we could hear the lobby very clearly throughout the night. for $169 a night this is abysmal I strongly recommend against this place.
