For locals in New York City, especially those frequenting or needing to stay in the vibrant borough of Queens, finding accommodations that offer both convenience and value is always a priority. Flushing Central Hotel 88, located at 135-33 38th Avenue in Flushing, NY, presents itself as an option for those seeking a straightforward stay in one of the city's most dynamic neighborhoods. As professional content writers specializing in local business SEO, we understand the importance of providing factual and engaging information about local establishments, ensuring they are easily discoverable and understood by potential guests who call this diverse city home. This article will delve into the offerings of Flushing Central Hotel 88, providing an overview of its location, services, and what guests can expect, based on available public data and customer feedback.
Flushing Central Hotel 88 operates as an independent hotel, often catering to travelers looking for practical and affordable lodging, particularly given its strategic location in Flushing. Unlike large international chains, independent hotels often have a more localized feel, responding directly to the needs of their immediate community and clientele. The hotel’s primary appeal seems to be its prime location, which offers guests easy access to the extensive amenities and transit options of Flushing. However, customer reviews present a mixed picture regarding the overall experience. One review states, "The hotel is near a lot of stuff, but the hotel itself is pretty gross. It's not a place to relax, it has a smell, doors are not sound resistant." This suggests that while convenience is high, certain aspects of the hotel's physical condition may be a concern for some guests. In stark contrast, another reviewer had a highly positive experience, proclaiming, "Probably the CLEANEST Hotel I've ever been to, NYC or not. Workers are kind, very serious yet very polite. I have a pretty bad rodent allergy but I was fine at this hotel. No bed bugs, rodents, roaches. 10/10, worth it!" This highlights a remarkable discrepancy, suggesting that individual experiences may vary significantly, or that the hotel has made considerable improvements in cleanliness. The latter review’s strong affirmation of cleanliness, especially regarding pests, is a significant positive highlight for many travelers.
Flushing Central Hotel 88 boasts an exceptionally convenient location at 135-33 38th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. This address places it squarely in the bustling heart of downtown Flushing, one of New York City's most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.
The hotel's greatest strength is its accessibility, making it an ideal base for exploring Flushing and reaching other parts of New York City. It is within a very short walking distance to the Flushing-Main Street subway station, which serves the 7 train. The 7 train is a vital artery, providing direct and rapid transit to Midtown Manhattan, including major hubs like Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. This proximity to a major subway line is a significant advantage for both tourists and business travelers.
In addition to the subway, the Flushing-Main Street area is a major bus terminal, with numerous MTA bus routes connecting to various parts of Queens, Brooklyn, and even Long Island. This extensive public transportation network means guests can easily navigate the city without the need for a car.
For those traveling by air, LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is just a short drive away, making the hotel a practical choice for airport layovers or early morning flights. While a review mentioned staying "during the US Open," highlighting its suitability for events at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center or Citi Field, its convenience to public transport means these venues are easily reachable from the hotel. The hotel itself may not offer dedicated parking, common for central urban locations, relying instead on its public transit access and potentially nearby commercial parking garages.

The hotel is near a lot of stuff, but the hotel itself is pretty gross. It's not a place to relax, it has a smell, doors are not sound resistant. Stayed during the US Open. Kid will not like it
May 28, 2025 · Hung HProbably the CLEANEST Hotel I've ever been to, NYC or not. Workers are kind, very serious yet very polite. I have a pretty bad rodent allergy but I was fine at this hotel. No bed bugs, rodents, roaches. 10/10, worth it!
Mar 20, 2025 · Kaitlyn ReichertPrice was pretty good, I booked in the morning and checked in in the afternoon. Staffs helped me carry suitcases up and down the stairs. They allowed me to check in early with no additional fee and were very welcoming. There are no microwave and fridge in the room, but the front desk will heat up whatever you need and let you send food into their fridge if needed. Free coffee, tea and hot water in the lobby. Convenient location, near the subway and food courts. 100% recommended.
Dec 19, 2024 · Mi “Carola” PhamThere were long hairs on the bed that hadn’t been cleaned properly. It was also the first time I’ve stayed at a hotel in the U.S. that didn’t provide towels. The front desk staff were cold and unfriendly. Most seriously, after staying one night, I developed red, itchy bumps on my arms and back, which is absolutely unacceptable!
Apr 26, 2025 · ylon X (Xiaoyong Yin)The service attitude at the front desk was extremely bad. After asking a few questions, she became impatient and even rolled her eyes at me. I don't understand why the hotel hired such an employee with very poor quality
