The Vue Inn Brooklyn Introduce
For many New Yorkers, whether we're hosting out-of-town guests on a budget, looking for a quick, no-frills stay, or perhaps even in need of temporary housing, finding affordable accommodation in a city like ours can be a challenge. The Vue Inn Brooklyn, located at 73 Mother Gaston Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11233, presents itself as a budget-friendly option in the East New York neighborhood. It's important for locals to understand what this inn offers and, perhaps more importantly, what to realistically expect when considering a stay here.
Unlike some of the more luxurious or full-service hotels in other parts of Brooklyn or Manhattan, The Vue Inn Brooklyn appears to cater to travelers and individuals seeking very basic, cost-effective lodging. Online descriptions and customer reviews suggest it provides essential amenities without the frills of a higher-priced establishment. This positions it as a practical choice for those whose primary concern is affordability and having a place to rest their head, rather than a comprehensive hotel experience.
Situated in East New York, a vibrant and evolving part of Brooklyn, the inn's location offers proximity to certain local transit hubs and thoroughfares. However, customer feedback also points to specific considerations regarding the surrounding area and the general atmosphere within the property. This article aims to provide a clear, factual overview of The Vue Inn Brooklyn, drawing directly from publicly available data and customer experiences, to help locals make informed decisions about whether this inn aligns with their needs and expectations for a stay in our dynamic borough.
The Vue Inn Brooklyn is located at 73 Mother Gaston Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11233, USA. This address places it in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn. East New York is a large and diverse residential and commercial area, known for its various housing types, local businesses, and significant transportation infrastructure.
The inn's accessibility is primarily through public transportation, which is a key advantage in New York City. It is conveniently situated near several subway stations, making it relatively easy to connect to other parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan:
Mother Gaston Boulevard/Livonia Avenue (L train): This station is a short walk from the inn, providing direct access to Manhattan's Lower East Side and points further west in Brooklyn.
Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road (L train): Another nearby L train station, offering similar connectivity.
Broadway Junction: While not immediately adjacent, Broadway Junction is a major transit hub within a reasonable distance (potentially a short bus ride or slightly longer walk). This station serves the A, C, J, and Z subway lines, along with numerous bus routes, offering extensive connections across Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
This strong subway and bus connectivity is crucial for guests relying on public transit. For those arriving by car, the inn is relatively close to major roadways, including Atlantic Avenue and the Belt Parkway, offering routes to other parts of Long Island and New York City. However, as is common in urban environments, street parking might be challenging to find, and the inn does not typically advertise extensive private parking facilities.
The immediate area around the inn, as noted by some customer reviews, has been described as "pretty suspect." This suggests that guests should exercise typical urban caution, particularly if arriving or departing late at night. However, for New Yorkers familiar with urban environments, the strong transit links offer a practical way to navigate to and from the property. The surrounding blocks feature a mix of residential buildings and local businesses, providing some neighborhood amenities.
Based on typical inn operations and available information, The Vue Inn Brooklyn offers a basic set of services designed to provide essential accommodation. It's important to set expectations that these services are generally limited to what's necessary for a short, budget-conscious stay, rather than comprehensive hotel amenities.
24-Hour Front Desk: The inn is expected to have a 24-hour front desk. Customer reviews mention "people at the front desk did their best," indicating staff availability for check-in/out and basic inquiries.
Room Accommodation: Provides basic rooms, often including options for smoking rooms, as noted in a review. These rooms typically feature beds, air conditioning, and a private bathroom.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are generally provided, though a customer review specifically highlighted significant concerns about the cleanliness of the floors, sheets, and general room condition, suggesting that standards may vary or be inconsistent.
Basic In-Room Amenities: Rooms likely include a television. A coffee/tea maker is mentioned in a review, although its cleanliness was a concern.
Vending Machines: Many budget inns provide vending machines for snacks and beverages as a convenience.
Parking: While not extensively advertised, some form of parking, potentially limited or paid, might be available, given the typical setup of inns in more residential-commercial areas. However, guests should verify this directly.
It is crucial to note that customer reviews frequently mention significant issues with cleanliness ("dirty," "hair, dust and miscellaneous particles," "dingy cream sheets," "burns and smeared dirt on the walls") and noise levels ("loud music and conversation can be heard through the walls and coming from the parking," "couple was having a dispute a few rooms over"). These indicate that while the inn offers basic services, the quality and peacefulness of the stay may be significantly impacted.
The Vue Inn Brooklyn's features and highlights are primarily centered around its value proposition as a budget-friendly option in Brooklyn.
Affordability: Perhaps the most significant "highlight" of The Vue Inn Brooklyn is its price point. It aims to offer a very economical lodging solution in an expensive city, making it accessible to those on a tight budget. As one reviewer stated, "if you want to save money I guess you could gamble."
Smoking Rooms Available: For guests who specifically seek or require a smoking room, The Vue Inn Brooklyn explicitly offers this option, which is becoming increasingly rare in New York City hotels. This can be a key feature for a specific segment of travelers.
Basic In-Room Comforts: Despite reported cleanliness issues, the rooms themselves are described as "satisfactory" for their primary purpose of providing a bed. They likely include fundamental amenities such as air conditioning, heating, and a private bathroom, which are essential for any stay.
24-Hour Front Desk Support: The presence of a 24-hour front desk, staffed by individuals who "did their best," ensures that guests have access to assistance for check-in, check-out, and immediate concerns at any time of day or night.
Accessibility to Public Transit: Its location in East New York provides good access to the L subway line, and relatively close proximity to the major Broadway Junction transit hub. This allows guests to travel efficiently throughout Brooklyn and to Manhattan using public transportation.
It's critical to balance these highlights with significant caveats from customer reviews. Consistently reported issues include:
Cleanliness: Numerous complaints about dirty floors, hair, dust, dingy linens, stained countertops, and dirty coffee/tea makers.
Noise Levels: Reports of loud music, conversations, and disputes from neighboring rooms and the parking area, leading to difficulty sleeping.
General Environment: The surrounding area and the internal atmosphere have been described as "suspect" or indicative of "aggressive and desperate people," creating a potentially "scary experience."
Therefore, while the inn offers basic, affordable lodging and specific features like smoking rooms, potential guests should be fully aware of the documented challenges regarding cleanliness, noise, and overall environmental comfort.
As a budget-friendly inn, The Vue Inn Brooklyn typically focuses on offering competitive everyday rates rather than extensive promotional packages or seasonal discounts commonly found at larger, more upscale hotels. Their primary "offer" is usually their low base price.
However, like many properties in this category, they might occasionally feature:
Online Booking Platform Discounts: Guests might find slightly lower rates when booking through popular online travel agencies (OTAs) compared to walking in or calling directly. These platforms often run their own promotions that the inn participates in.
Long-Term Stay Rates: For individuals needing accommodation for more than a few nights, the inn might offer weekly or monthly rates that are more economical than daily rates, though this would need to be confirmed directly with the property.
Direct Booking Incentives (Possible but Unlikely): Some independent inns offer a small discount or a modest perk for booking directly via phone or their own website (if they have one), to avoid OTA commissions. Given the budget nature, this is less common but always worth inquiring about.
It is highly recommended that potential guests call the inn directly or check major online travel sites for the most current pricing. Given the feedback on cleanliness and noise, any "special offer" should be weighed against the potential trade-offs in comfort and overall experience. The primary "deal" here is the reduced cost compared to other New York City accommodations.
For inquiries, reservations, or to verify current rates and amenities at The Vue Inn Brooklyn, you can use the following contact details:
Address: 73 Mother Gaston Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11233, USA
Phone: (718) 552-2510

Calling directly is often the best way to get the most up-to-date information, particularly regarding specific room types (like smoking rooms) or current availability.
For New Yorkers, or those visiting with very specific budgetary constraints, The Vue Inn Brooklyn presents a unique set of considerations. It is not suitable for everyone, but it can fill a niche for locals under particular circumstances.
Firstly, its most compelling suitability for locals is its extreme affordability in a city known for its high accommodation costs. If the absolute lowest price is the primary determinant for a stay, whether for a quick, unplanned overnight, accommodating a very budget-conscious friend, or for someone needing temporary, bare-bones lodging, The Vue Inn could be a viable option. It prioritizes cost-savings above all else.
Secondly, for individuals who specifically require or prefer a smoking room, The Vue Inn Brooklyn offers this increasingly rare amenity. In a city with strict non-smoking policies in most hotels, this feature could be a significant draw for a select segment of the local population.
Thirdly, its location in East New York, while described as "suspect" by some, offers excellent access to the L subway line and is relatively close to the major Broadway Junction transit hub. This means that guests, once at the inn, can easily navigate Brooklyn and access other parts of the city via public transport. For New Yorkers who are accustomed to urban environments and savvy with transit, this connectivity is a practical advantage.
However, it is crucial for locals to approach The Vue Inn Brooklyn with very realistic expectations, heavily informed by available customer reviews. The significant concerns about cleanliness, persistent noise from other rooms and the parking lot, and the general "stressful" or "scary" atmosphere due to interpersonal disputes, mean that a comfortable or peaceful night's sleep may not be guaranteed. These are not minor inconveniences; they are fundamental aspects of a lodging experience.
In conclusion, The Vue Inn Brooklyn is suitable for locals who are willing to "gamble" on a very low price point and prioritize extreme budget over comfort, cleanliness, and a peaceful environment. It might serve as a last resort for an emergency stay or for someone needing a quick, no-frills overnight with no other more comfortable, affordable options available. For those seeking a pleasant, clean, and quiet experience, paying extra for a hotel in a safer location with better amenities would be a far more suitable choice.

The Vue Inn Brooklyn Reviews
The actual rooms themselves are satisfactory and the people at the front desk did their best... BUT I couldn't sleep when I stayed over, it was a very scary experience trying to sleep because a couple was having a dispute a few rooms over at 11 in the evening; a man was knocking very loudly on his partner's door and yelling very aggressively and cursing very loudly and it made me very stressed and worried, the area around it is pretty suspect so I wouldn't be surprised if this happened often here, again the rooms themselves do the job for the price but there is a very high chance you risk staying over next to some aggressive and desperate people, if you want to save money I guess you could gamble and hope it doesn't happen but personally I'd just pay extra for a hotel in a safer location in the future
Jun 04, 2023 · maroEverything about this hotel room is dirty. The floors are not clean; it’s hair, dust and miscellaneous particles in every corner and base of the furniture. The sheets and covers are white and dingy cream (ew) but at least they weren’t stained like other reviews. Loud music and conversation can be heard through the walls and coming from the parking. The Coffee/tea maker was dirty and old with brown stuff in the grooves. Countertops has visible stains. Burns and smeared dirt on the walls. The toilet drains constantly. I recommend getting a different hotel if possible. This hotel could be $50 cheaper and I still would prefer a cleaner and comfortable room over this. Only good thing is they are smoking room but again I’d prefer cleanliness most importantly. If they didn’t bother to fully sweep the floors, I can only imagine what other corners are being cut.

May 23, 2025 · EbonyWhatever you do, don't stay at this hotel. Disgusting doesn't even describe how bad it is. Blood on the walls. Down there hairs in the bed. Mud in the shower. Boot prints on the sheets. We even switched rooms hoping for a better one. Nope it was even worse. The whole facility smells like a cigarette ash tray. The attendant was sleeping it took 20 mins to wake him up. If it is between sleeping in your car or staying here sleep in the car. Just DON'T DO IT. HORRIBLE UNSAFE EXPERIENCE
Jun 19, 2022 · Bobbi MDO NOT BOOK HERE! I booked a room at this hotel, and first of all, the area was sketchy. People playing loud music, and hanging out in the parking lot. When I finally got to my room, there were flies (3) flying everywhere, blood on the wall, a hole in the wall, high touch points (light switches and power outlets were dirty), the bed looked questionable, and the room was hot and smelled like smoke. This is not a hotel for visitors, but rather for people who are displaced or “working” from the local community. I immediately tried to check out, and was offered another room, but the entire hotel was a mess and it looked very cheap considering the price. It’s not a safe and clean environment. Don’t book here!
