TRYP by Wyndham New York City Times Square South Reviews
Staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is located close to Penn Station which was very nice on arrival and departure. Not far from Big Bus stop 2 and 13. Close to many types of restaurants. The room was cozy. The bed and pillows were a little on the firm side. The water pressure was not great but doable. Only disturbing noises was from inconsiderate guests.
May 25, 2025 · Wayne Walk JrMy room with two beds was perfectly clean. The room featured a built-in closet and dresser which made efficient use of space. At no time did I feel cramped even though New York rooms run small. There was also a table/desk and a mini fridge. The bed was firm and comfortable, and the shades completely darkened the room. The bathroom was clean and well-lit, with more water pressure in the shower stall than I remember ever having in New York. When I returned to my room after a morning at museums, housekeeping had done their magic and the beds were made, the curtains open, and the room inviting. The location is unbeatable -- two blocks from Penn Station, a block from the subway, and surrounded by retail and food. I had the perfect slice of pizza from Vito's Slices and Ices two blocks away. The perfection of my room made the lobby and check in experience disappointing. Much of the first floor is given over to food service which I saw very few customers in, while guests waiting to check in are confined to a few couches by the water cooler and check in line. Check in line, you say? They only had one clerk on duty at 6 PM, resulting in a 20 minute wait. I hope this day was an anomaly with a staffer out or reassigned, and not a sign that this TRYP by Wyndham hotel doesn't care about the arrival experience after they've put so much thought into the accommodations themselves.
Mar 21, 2025 · Wendell FinnerToilet was clogged when we arrived to our room. The lights in the bathroom automatically shut off during my shower. They offer an unattended room to store your luggage that anyone can just walk into the hotel and enter. You can hear everything in the neighboring rooms. Gym has nowhere to place the dumbbells, they are scattered on the floor. Very convenient location, definitely not a 4-star hotel.
May 24, 2025 · Mathieu Mimms-BoyceGreat location. Room was great and clean. Elevators came fast. Beware of shower. The shower head flooded all our big towels and bathroom as it faced the back of the tub where towels were placed. The check in though was a disaster. One guy. Tons of people checking in. Tiny lobby.
Apr 05, 2025 · Kaz KazetteBait and switch scam warning! Booked a confirmed room with 2 queen beds for me and my 2 teenage kids over Easter holiday weekend. When arrived they had oversold and multiple parties were also also affected and frustrated. They offered to move us to another hotel out of the area, which was not acceptable. They then offered to put us in a king room with a cot that blocked our room door until a 2 queen bed room was available. I went to the front desk daily and the staff were very kind (and seemed very embarassed that the management does this regularly) but they were not able to get us another room or provide any other compensation or discount. They said the owner would assist. I spoke to the owner, John Sharma, on the phone who said they would get back to me if I emailed our issue, but he never responded to multiple emails. I noted multiple safety and fire code issues in the hotel as well as poor cleanliness. I would choose another hotel if you are able. This owner has multiple properties in NYC, so beware.
