DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square South Reviews
Our experience at the Hilton Times Square was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the team, especially Mrs. Crystal, a charming and kind lady whose smile and gentleness truly made an impression on us. We also thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her. Benjamin, also at the reception, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay—and to top it off, he speaks French, which made our interactions even more delightful. On the day of our departure, Richard kindly stored our luggage for us, allowing us to make the most of our last day exploring Manhattan. Our room, while small (as is typical for New York), provided a breathtaking view of the Empire State Building. Waking up to such an iconic sight is an experience we’ll never forget. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with high-quality bedding and the thoughtful inclusion of two types of pillows to suit different preferences—a wonderful touch.Breakfast was a real highlight—delicious and varied, priced at $27 per person, which we found to be excellent value given the quality and convenience. The rooftop was undoubtedly the crowning jewel of our stay: a marvelous terrace with stunning views of Manhattan on both sides, surrounded by the city's legendary skyline. It’s a true gem that adds a magical dimension to the experience.A huge thank you to all the staff for their exceptional hospitality and for making our stay in New York truly unforgettable. We highly recommend this hotel!
Apr 20, 2025 · Frenchies On TripGood location. Tiny lobby and sometimes difficult access to the elevators. The front desk staff was nice. Housekeeping was definitely hit or miss. They never showed up to change our towels which I was told they were supposed to do daily. Even on days when we asked for full cleaning housekeeping showed up really late! They did a great job but we just couldn't rely on them showing up. The Vue180 rooftop bar was cute. Cool views from the roof! Seating inside and out. We were going to get a drink but when we looked at the limes on the bar they were brown. So we left. Not sure how long everything had been sitting out. Probably won't stay here again. It feels like an "okay" hotel, not a "nice' hotel.
May 20, 2025 · Karen FletcherA very decent hotel overall. While the rooms are small, they are modern and well-maintained. I really appreciated the personalized welcome message on the TV—it was a nice touch. The room was clean and had a refreshing feel. Service was great; the staff were friendly and even offered a welcome gift of cookies. Check-in and checkout were both quick and easy.Location is great and near all attractions.
Apr 29, 2025 · BreeGreat location & great service. Everyone at the front desk was very accommodating and kind. Rooms aren’t huge but they’re a good size for nyc. They held my luggage on arrival day until room was ready & arranged for transport to the airport. Great view at the rooftop bar.
May 21, 2025 · Stacy BenjaminThe rooms are very small with barely any floor space, 85% of the room was taken up with the bed, found it quite chaotic as there was no where to put your belongings / clothing as there was only a tiny wardrobe and no drawers. The room was incredibly stuffy and hot, but the air conditioning sounded like a jet engine so you had to have it off at night, which meant an uncomfortable sleep where you felt you couldn’t breathe. There was a constant light in the bathroom which you couldn’t turn off, which flooded through the cracks of the sliding door as it didn’t shut fully, on top of this there was a flashing bright light in the room which went on all night. The lifts are ridiculous, only 3 tiny lifts for thousands of rooms, it takes on average 5 minutes for a lift to arrive and then if you’re on the top floors you wait another 5 minutes to make it back down to the lobby as it stops off so often. It is a budget hotel but the above things did make it a little unenjoyable, however the location was central and a great base if it’s your first time in NY and seeing the tourist attractions. Staff were great and really helpful and friendly, a nice touch with the welcome cookie and message on the TV.
