Arlo Williamsburg Reviews
Stayed at Arlo Williamsburg this past weekend with my fiancée. We’re familiar with Arlo Midtown (stayed there last year and loved it), so we had pretty high expectations going in.First off, the location is amazing — right in the heart of Williamsburg, can’t beat it. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, big plus there. You definitely feel the good energy the second you walk in.Now for the real talk:The room could’ve been way cleaner. First thing we saw when we walked in was a giant dust bunny by the closet, and a few more hanging out in the corners. For a place like this — in this neighborhood — you expect the basics like a clean room to be a given.Space-wise, the room was tight (which we expected), but there were no dressers or drawers at all, and only one luggage rack. Trying to live out of a suitcase with two people in that small of a space? Rough. A couple smart storage solutions would make a huge difference.Bathroom wasn’t great either — the floor had a bunch of black scuff marks. With the European-style shower (where the whole bathroom gets wet), it made the floors look even worse. Definitely not the vibe you want when you’re trying to relax after a long day around Brooklyn. All in all — loved the staff, loved the location, but the room setup and cleanliness need some work if they’re trying to live up to that Arlo Midtown standard. Hope they tighten it up, because the potential is 100% there.
Apr 28, 2025 · Jose FortunaStaff were helpful over the phone and in person. The phone tree isn't the best but it works.Hallways are mostly wide enough, but I'm not sure you could actually get a power wheelchair into any of the rooms. From the hallway the room doors look stained with white splotches, and not in a good way. Lighting is good and the keycard worked fine for my whole stay. There is no desk in the room, which I would've thought is standard in a modern hotel, nor is there a conference room. I was told by staff that they would be able to provide a desk when I arrived but that never materialized. The snack table is a poor substitute. The location is great, and the lobby is really pretty. A decent choice if the price is in your budget.
Apr 17, 2025 · Philip Cohn-CortCarlos at the front desk was amazing & so helpful. After having a horrible experience at a different hotel, Carlos made our whole night better by being extra helpful & accommodating. The room is so nice & modern & the property is stunning. We got a balcony room & the views are exactly what we needed for a little break away from home. Would recommend this property over & over again.
Apr 14, 2025 · Zumiya GomezOverall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, but I think the experience didn’t do the price justice and it would be better with a car.I’ve stayed at Arlo NoMad and Arlo Chicago and I found that this one did not compare in terms of value for money. It’s a nice concept and design, but a few things that I didn’t like: the location was a 10 minute walk from the closest subway station, the front staff weren’t as friendly as other Arlo hotels, the cleaning service happened too late in the day. For the price I also expected higher quality but some of the furniture, flooring, and bathroom fixtures had some imperfections. Even the elevator could’ve used a touch up. The rooftop pool says “heated” online, but it is not so I didn’t get to enjoy. The food menu at the art rooftop is limited; it does not include many gluten-free/dairy free options and I found that the drinks and food were overpriced ~ $45 for a margarita & guacamole + chips. However, I do want to recognize that the life guard on duty was very kind and helpful as well as the door/bell men. The rooftop has beautiful views and the hotel does offer a booklet of different restaurants and attractions nearby.
May 22, 2025 · TOur stay at this hotel was very disappointing from the start. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 PM, but our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. We waited for an hour before following up with the front desk. The attendant told us it would be ready in 5 minutes, but after another 15 minutes, she had disappeared—apparently because her shift had ended, leaving us with no way to follow up with her.We asked the staff member who was now on duty, and he told us our room was ready. When we got there, we found the table out of place and electrical wires spread across the room. While we were inspecting the room, another employee walked in, surprised to see us, and told us he was still working in it.We returned to the front desk to explain what happened and also pointed out that the room they gave us was not the one we booked. We had reserved a room with a terrace and a city view, but what we received was completely different. The staff informed us that the hotel was fully booked and that some rooms had issues with the air conditioning. When we asked to cancel our reservation, they said we couldn’t—because we had already checked in.Overall, the service was unorganized and unprofessional, and the room did not meet our expectations or match the booking. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you value reliability and honest communication
