The William Vale Reviews
The William Vale is rated as a 5 star hotel with pretty heavy price tag to go with it. Unfortunately, it missed the mark as far as the rooms and service goes. We had booked a corner room with a wrap around balcony with skyline views of NYC for the last event/leg of our honeymoon.Room was a bit lackluster for a room running around 700 a night. Layout is pretty small, control of window shades were broken on two of the sides, a thermostat that wasn't working great at controlling the room temperature, tv remote that wasn't working, one of the phones wouldn't work unless you put it on speaker phone, outside furniture missing cushions, scratched up coffee table, poor lighting controls, etc. Such an outdated looking room as well. You'd expect paying that price that you'd get a high end room, but that wasn't the case.Service was less than stellar with the above issues mentioned. We called down to the front desk a dozen times with no answer. I had to head down to the front desk only to find staff sitting in the office and was told they never received any call. Big let down after already being less than excited about the room.We had traveled the world for our honeymoon and every single hotel went above and beyond whether a touch of rose petals on the bed, a bottle of champagne, hand written notes of congratulations, or little desserts for our day, BUT The William Vale will do ABSOLUTELY nothing to recognize your special daySurrounding area - Not a lot going on where the hotel is situated. Feels like this place was dropped in an industrial area with not a lot of amenities or things to do in the neighborhood unless you take a 10 min walk
Apr 19, 2025 · John TFantastic, luxurious hotel nestled in the awesome Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg. All of the staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooftop pool area is gorgeous—we came during the off season and basically had the pool to ourselves. The rooftop bar (Westlight) treats you to beautiful views of Manhattan and tasty cocktails. The rooms themselves are great—nice balcony and super comfy bed + pillows.Lastly, the location—walk 10 minutes in any direction and you’ll hit lovely bars, restaurants, and shopping. We’re going to come stay here every time we visit Brooklyn. Thank you to the William Vale and of all its staff for helping us to have such a wonderful stay!
May 28, 2025 · G SalmunMy mom and I stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time. However it’s for sure 4 stars I don’t know how they got the official 5 stars it should really go down. When a hotel has a 5 star official rating and is priced accordingly you have higher expectations. The room was great with a beautiful view, beautiful roof top bar, the highlight was their outdoor spa with little private saunas and hot tub which was an incredible experience. The service people were great especially the cleaning staff, but the running of the hotel just wasn’t smooth. The elevators were out of service or the room card wasn’t reading inside them, 90% of the time !!!! That’s crazy high! When the roof bar had guests, they prioritized them to use the elevators over hotel customers. That’s pathetic! When we complained about the elevators, rather than seeking solutions, we were gaslit by the staff about it time and time again. Bad vibes. Also when we asked for room service or servicing of the room, often no one arrived and he had to call again several hours later and ask again. Something in the operations Just wasn’t working smoothly at all.Other than that, great hotel, location is awesome in trendy Williamsburg. The vibe of the hotel is a clean, large and generic hotel—it’s not a hotel with a big personality or charm, but that’s not necessarily a judgement, just a style.Would I stay again? Maybe. Would I recommend it to someone I want to impress? Absolutely not!
Mar 14, 2025 · Sivan LavieWe are having an amazing experience at the hotel. Very cool location. The staff is fabulous. A big shout out to Cara Rooney the Asst Front Office Manager . She has gone above and beyond ! A fantastic roof top bar. The best property in Williamsburg!
Apr 18, 2025 · S McDowellI booked The William Vale a few weeks in advance at a room rate of $400. The hotel has since dropped the rate to $277 and I called more than ten times to request a price match. I continue to be redirected to the reservation line which claims they are unable to assist and I need to speak directly to the in-house staff but they are unable to transfer me to the hotel staff directly. I call back and attempt to reach the hotel staff and the cycle repeats. It appears the hotel staff are malicious and not honorable. I have stayed here before and the rooms are old and not up to par for a 5 star hotel. I only booked this time because my sister wanted to stay there for her wedding. I do not recommend staying at the William Vale in light of their poor customer service. I have also reported them to the NY Business Bureau for misconduct.
