The Gallivant Times Square Reviews
The location of this hotel makes up for all the inconveniences. They should freshen up this place a bit. I didn't spend much time in the room, we basically just slept, so I didn't care about the details, I had a place to sleep, eat and take a bath. But there were a few things that could be faulted.Because of the location, I could come here again. The cleaning crew did a good job, we basically kept order, but they still did their job.The gentleman at the reception was very helpful, so I take that as a big plus of my stay.If you are a tourist who flew to NY for sightseeing and need a place to sleep, I recommend this place. If you are looking for comfort and special extras, you won't find it here, so look for something that will 100% meet your needs. As for me and my brother, it was ok
May 21, 2025 · Rafal WojcickiStayed at The Gallivant in New York, where the room was compact, as expected for the city. The staff was friendly and accommodating, quickly addressing concerns. However, the lack of a fridge or microwave made it challenging to store leftovers, impacting plans to save on food costs. Additionally, there were no “Do Not Disturb” signs, and housekeeping knocked before 8 AM after a late 2:30 AM arrival, with loud hallway chatter disrupting sleep. The housekeeper was considerate the next day after we spoke. Lastly, the TV was non-functional, which was inconvenient despite minimal plans to use it. Overall, a mixed experience with great staff but some notable drawbacks.
May 27, 2025 · Skyler HarmsWe came in. Nice decor but no room key was given because supposedly the machine wasn't working. Was told will be given one later and not true. Machine was still broken. Room was tiny and not spacious. At 8am thr room was opened by cleaning lady. Woke us both up. Then hard yelling from another guest because she did the same to them. Screaming I'm calling security. Very unprofessional. Also rugs outside very dirty. Bad furniture. Just a very low end hotel for the area and price. Will probably not go back.
Jun 02, 2025 · Mauricio IllescasI stayed there this past weekend and I had a horrible experience with the front desk staff. I picked up some food and called if I could check in 15 minutes early or else I would just stay at the restaurant. Guy said “yes, they would be happy to help me check in early” I get there and Jose is looking at me like I’m crazy and stated I needed to wait till 3 pm. I was hungry and tired and wish this was communicated over the phone. The next day, I asked for a do not disturb sign and said it would be sent over but it never came. I did not get his name but it’s the guy that looks like Ariel Castro that be over promising and under delivering. I told them to not say anything if they would not fulfill. Jose said he did not care if I left a review and was extremely rude and dismissive. Do not stay here if you want to experience customer service. The room was decent but next time, I will continue to stay at the Moxy NYC. This place clearly wants to go out of business and cannot even do their job properly.
Jun 01, 2025 · sofia morenoThe only thing good about this hotel was it's location!First they offered to discount parking. But the place where you park couldn't accommodate my truck so they sent me to a different location. Which parking went from $45 a day to $80 a day.Second... The shower leaked from the roof every time we turned the shower on.Third... The cable TV went out after the second night. So we spent 2 days with no TV.Lastly... The management wouldn't even listen or even work to accommodate for our inconveniences. They were just rude! I felt like they got their money that was all that mattered NOT THE CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCE.For the amount we paid per day, I'll take my chances elsewhere - next time!!!!
