Hi NYC Hostel: A Great First Hostel ExperienceAs a first-time solo traveler, I was a bit nervous about staying in a hostel. However, my experience at Hi NYC Hostel was fantastic!Positive Aspects:Diverse and Friendly Community: I met so many interesting people from all over the world. The hostel fosters a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.Clean and Comfortable Accommodations: The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The curtains provided much-needed privacy.Excellent Facilities: The bathrooms were clean, and the hot showers were a welcome relief after a long day of exploring the city.Helpful and Friendly Staff: The staff members were always kind and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable.
Nov 26, 2024 · Reynaldo VillalobosFirst time staying here and really enjoyed it! The staff are all incredibly helpful and patient despite the chaos of managing so many customers, and the building itself is well laid out and easy to navigate. (FYI: the floors have refillable water bottle stations—keep that in mind and save some $!)The rooms are standard dorms, and the beds are super comfortable for what they are. I'm grateful the rooms have AC, but the only downside to rooming with several others is that they don't always want it on when you do. Our room definitely got hot at night, and most of my bunk mates were opposed to running it. Having clip on fans in the bunks, or even to rent, would be extremely beneficial—just an idea for management. :)I also absolutely adored the location. Extremely close to the 1 line and the neighborhood itself is close to Central Park and felt very safe. I was coming back to the hostel extremely late in the evening by myself and never felt like I was in any danger. In short, people just need to know what to expect when they go into it. It's shared rooms and bathrooms, which means there will sometimes be a wait for showers and occasionally cranky roommates. But for me, that's just part of the experience, and I would happily come back and stay again. I'll be recommending it to friends!
Oct 10, 2024 · Sarah AinsleeI really enjoyed my stay here! The establishment is clean and the service is great. The women's bathrooms are well-kept and the rooms are in great condition. I traveled by myself, and the hostel environment helped me feel comfortable and not alone. I totally recommend it for someone looking to try something new but worthwhile.
Nov 23, 2024 · Samantha VaqueroThis hostel is the go-to place in NYC. It’s an awesome non-profit organization running this fantastic place, with all the necessities covered for the guests and plenty of amusement options on daily basis. You can do free tours all week long, parting from the hostel building, some of them with valuable historical information along the way.Party is not out of the question also, so you can definitely count on that. The rooms are just what you need after a tyring day in NYC, the showers have the required privacy, and for sure, you need to coexist with people that live up to other hygiene standards, but this wasn’t an issue except for a couple of times. The location is truly amazing. Will be back
Nov 21, 2024 · Emiliano Nuñez RumiGreat hostel experience. Super busy with people from all over the world. I stayed in a female 6 bed and all of my mates were respectful. Ample bathrooms and lots of common space. The cafe inside was a nice touch. Would stay again! Great location, secure facility. Liked that I could pay $5 to secure my bag in a locker upon checkout until my departure so I was able to still sight see in the city. At first the AC in my room didn’t seem to be working but they rectified the situation and the temperature was adequate.
