Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue Reviews
Angelica was awesome. She was very kind, made the check-in fun and upgraded our room as well! The doormen were very nice as well, they really make you feel appreciated. This stay was much better than our first time 2.5 years ago, first week of opening and the very odd manager! The only downside is the breakfast.. save your money!
May 30, 2025 · Rijad HI recently spent one night at the hotel and found it to be a mixed experience. Here’s my take:Room:I was given a very small room that was functional but had a couple of significant drawbacks. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud—so much so that it disrupted my sleep. If I turned it off, the room became uncomfortably cold, forcing me to sleep with a beanie to stay warm. I can imagine that in the summer the noise might be less of an issue, but in the winter this setup is far from ideal. Had I planned to stay longer, I definitely would have requested a different room.Check-In and Staff:Check-in was quick and hassle-free, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, which helped set a positive tone despite the room challenges.Restaurant/Breakfast:The on-site restaurant that serves breakfast was decent—not outstanding, but satisfactory for a quick meal. I probably wouldn’t return just for the restaurant unless circumstances warranted it.Overall:While the hotel has its merits in terms of efficient service and a friendly team, the room’s size and the problematic air conditioning make it a less-than-ideal choice for a comfortable winter stay. It might work better in warmer months, but for now, I’d only consider it under special circumstances.Would I go again? Only if I had no other options or if the room issues were resolved.
Feb 26, 2025 · pnigosService was nice and noteworthy. Every doorman either welcomed you home or asked if you need a ride if they see you're leaving. One offered me an umbrella for the rain and even gave an estimate when the next bus should arrive. When you pass the front desk everyone speaks or smiles whether you're coming or going. But the room. Not that any place is perfect, the room was clean and comfy but had its glitches. My room had a bench at the foot of a king bed. I was unsure why the bench was needed when there is a seat, a desk, and a small sofa in the room. The bench is overkill and over sized for the room that it ate into the ability to walk around; I moved it to the doorway area. The bathroom looks nice but offers no storage space and is not functional for grooming and changing your clothes. The small refrigerator barely keeps food chilled even on the highest setting. Since my room faced the street, the blackout curtains are not noise dampening so I heard every siren and late night activity on the street up to the 10th floor. I noticed the noise since I live in a city at home and I have noise dampening curtains; I was awakened several times ... bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Lastly, the TV and/or remote control had connection issues. I found it annoying, but I easily turned on my iPad, my Mifi, and streamed my own content.
May 08, 2025 · Lyn A.My family travelled to NYC over St Patrick’s Day weekend to celebrate a birthday, and chose to stay at this Marriott property. The hotel was nice; the rooms were clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and soft. What set this stay apart was the absolutely attentive and wonderful staff. The team here is definitely top notch. I would recommend a stay here to anyone who is looking for a great NYC experience, but just outside the craziness of Time Square.
Mar 17, 2025 · Dean LarabeeOut of the dozen times I’ve stayed in Manhattan, this was by far the cleanest hotel with the best customer service. From check-in to check-out, the service was top-notch every minute of my stay. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the noise in my room (704). The lack of outdoor soundproofing was rough. I could hear everything happening on the street, especially at night from nearby restaurants and bars. I didn’t complain and I was only staying for two nights. In addition to the street noise, the AC unit was incredibly loud. Thankfully, it worked well. Still, the combination of outdoor and AC noise, particularly at night, kept this from being a perfect stay. That said, I would absolutely stay here again. For the price and location, it’s a great find: clean, professional, and not on a filthy or chaotic corner. It’s easy to get a cab or Uber, and it’s far enough from the Times Square madness to feel relaxed. Next time, I’ll just request a room higher than the 7th floor to avoid the noise.
