Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea Reviews
The hotel is very nice and has a nice restaurant. The restaurant has happy hour. The stay is great if you are here for work and don't need a large space. My view is actually very nice on the 33rd floor. The staff are nice, helpful and very attentive to you which is in short supply these days. Special mention for Brittney from the front desk: she is very helpful and friendly. My Hilton digital key doesn't work very well though; it is hit or miss for me with an iPhone 15 so I would recommend getting two physical keys which they're very happy to accommodate.
May 21, 2025 · Justin SostreReally happy with this property. We stayed 4 nights in a landmark city view + king room (27th floor). Room layout was intuitive and practical. Good layout of outlets/USB ports. Plenty of space and storage for two people — I appreciated a lot of hooks/hangers, including hooks in the shower for washcloths or loofahs, crazy how many properties don’t have this!Room was clean, temp control was easy/efficient, *great* shower and water pressure. I’ve seen other reviews saying the soundproofing isn’t good; it might be because I live in a major US city already and am used to “noise,” but I never noticed anything extraordinary about the noise. Yes, in a 40-floor hotel you might hear doors closing in the hallway at 10am…Gripes about the elevators are accurate but a little moan-y IMO — you’re always going to wait 3-5 minutes minimum for an elevator when you’re traveling down to the lobby from your room but this really wasn’t something that affected my stay.We also left our bags with the staff for ~4 hours when there was a gap between checkout and our leaving for the airport — picking up the bags at the end was quick & easy. The location, cleanliness and vibe of this property checked all my boxes and we will probably elect to make return visits to Motto.
Apr 08, 2025 · Angie ReedWe really enjoyed our experience staying at Motto Chelsea! This was my first time in NYC and we were celebrating my birthday and this hotel was conveniently located and a great home base for our trip. The room size was not large, but it was all we needed since we didn’t spend a ton of time there other than getting ready and sleeping. The bar and restaurant downstairs were amazing and it was always lively when we walked through or grabbed a drink. We told the front desk staff at check in that it was my birthday and they were so kind to upgrade us to a room on a higher floor and the view was my FAVORITE part.I would definitely stay at Motto Chelsea again - great location, clean rooms, helpful staff, and a pretty good deal for the price.
May 14, 2025 · Mackenzie WellsThe rooms are small but that is normal in NY. Plenty of storage in the drawers in the bed and few hooks to hang stuff. The shower pressure was perfect for me. The gym is small but has lots of equipment. The food and drinks were good and you get $10 credit per day. The staff is friendly. And the location is was perfect for us. No too noise and amazing views!
May 11, 2025 · Rebeca FThe location is excellent. It is central and convenient, with a good view of Manhattan from the room if you are on a high floor. Rooms are small but rooms and hallways are clean. There is no coffee in the room and the coffee at the bar is not great and also expensive. The front desk area is very small and often overcrowded. While I realize space might be limited, it can feel chaotic during busy times. The receptionists handle telephone calls and customers at busy morning and noon times. The wait times are long.Elevators are incredibly slow and constantly stops on nearly every floor, mostly because it’s shared with service staff. At peak times, it feels like you spend more time waiting than moving. The elevators should be designated to floors. It is ridiculous to see all elevators at top floor all at the same time and coming down making many many stops. My stay has been a long one (2 weeks) with 4 different parts of reservations. The receptionist was able to arrange the same room for the whole stay, which I was happy about. However, in the last part of my stay even though my card has been charged when I was initially checking in, they had some kind of a problem with the card and security came knocking on my door all of a sudden saying you have to leave the room. The way they handled a problem generating from their side was so rude and offensive. When I went to reception to understand what was going on, manager's response was "well that's protocol"!😳Obviously she was not aware of a term called "customer service".I am not sure if I will come back...
